Landon, Todd McShay said that it looked to him that Drew was having communication issues with the snap count and Boise St. picked up on something and “timed” blitzes perfectly..like Drew was “tipping” pitches in baseball with could that be possible?
😂😂😂Landon love the straight shooting man. Great breakdown on those blitz pickups If you have any pull please for the love of nittany nation tell the offense to not open with spread offense. We need a ton of man beaters and schemes to start the game and start fast. Tight trips, diamond, t formation heck I'll take I formation with rub routes, slants, comebacks and te leaks. Force them into zone.
This ND blitz package is the one thing that really worries me about this game. Not only do they have talented pass rushers. They are excellent at timing the snap count. There was at least 4 or 5 plays in that Georgia game where they seemed to hit the gap the second the ball was snapped. I'd love to see some film on our Wrs. When watching on TV you really can't see what's going on. But for the past two years, our WRs have been unable to really step up. If we had better production from them. I think this team competes with and has a great chance to win this tournament.
Why are those blitz pickups corrected on the sidelines? It seems that with the pads to see the movement it would be an easy fix. If we can pickup the blitz against ND Warren will have 200 yards

Great job of detailing these blitzes and how to protect Allar. I am sure that that our coaches are breaking down ND film and drilling the hell out of the offense with practicing blitz pick ups and protection. It seems to me that while Nick Singleton does a decent job of blocking, Kaytron handles the task better. Both RBs will have to be well practiced and ready to play this game.
Landon please please please text Drew this video lol. You probably don't have to, as that kid is smart as hell so I'm sure he's already working on it. But YOU have the power to get him to see the simple fixes that will go a LONG way in next Thursday's game

I think they started to really get a good jump on our snap count. Because Drew claps, it’s a visual for the defense, they can time it, vs just a cadence, it’s harder to time that as a player

How realistically possible is it for these guys to figure out blitz pickups in a week? Especially before a very good ND defense?
You know me, I always keep it 100. They are gonna get home on as a couple times… but if we can at least be correct on IDs and what blitzes to expect, we can combat it MUCH better than this
I mean, we could get all fancy. Or just run the ball and dominate like we were doing. Yes we need balance. Yes he needs to fix pass pro. But man, we have two 5 star (talent) RBs that are hungry.

Thing is that Georgia let ND play as fast as they wanted to. Penn State is much better at controlling tempo compared to Georgia. Penn State isn't going to get away from their run game, so the pass rush won't be as bat-out-of-hell.
@@lvli044 ND fan. Penn State has a better passing attack than Georgia so ND may have to dial down the blitzes a bit. But Penn State just outmanned Boise State’s D-line. In this video at least Aller wasn’t pressured and had plenty of time to throw. Whether or not ND gets home with their pass rush, stunts and blitzes, I do expect ND to get in Aller’s face. Should be a fun game.
I may be way off but this ND team reminds me of Penn State last year. No aerial game, totally dependent on the run, possession ball, defense blitzes like crazy to generate takeaways and establish good field position for the offense. We saw the highs of that, and we saw the lows, and the lows came when we overcommitted to pursuit and a halfback got behind the initial wave of defenders. PSU has all the tools to exploit this.
This is why bye week in college football is overrated. You have young guys that have not seen everything, and you don't see everything when you're not playing.

But that’s a lot on Drew’s plate. Dawk is a damn good player! I’m sure they will get this figured out

They played OSU in November. No doubt ND is a fantastic defense, but to think they haven’t seen a fast and physical defense is just not true.
