- In today's video i show how to remove flywheel bolts without a impact.
This method works best with the engine in the car but still works without the engine installed. Авто/Мото
You just cost me a $20 in the swear jar, but saved me my sanity.
Worth it.
Glad to hear! :D
Worked in 5 minutes with a 30", 1/2 drive breaker bar. They were tight but they came right out. Thanks so much!
Well done! I had done this before, forgot about method, was searching web for a flywheel lock and found your video 👍. We older folk, need a reminder 👍
I freaking love you !! lol this was so easy and it held like a champ never fell off or damaged anything . it just stayed how you showed how to set it up and reversed the direct to put the flywheel back on and torque it. Seriously don't know what I would have done without this video. Can't speak highly enough about how great this trick was. Seriously life saver ! Thank you !!!
Good idea, good video, straight to the point. Thank you
This video helped me out. Had no trouble getting the bolts out fast with this method and didn't have to use an impact.
Thank you!!! You saved me many hours of cussing and frustration
Thanks mate! I've struggled with this for 3 cars now. About to do my 4th. You just saved me.
Thanks for that tip, will definitely be using it! Oh and that last part with the "hey" gave me chills!!! 👻😱
Thank you so much! This worked flawlessly for me, and I saved so much not having to get an impact. Very clever workaround.
Woohoo just Google searched for this stuff an bam you got first vid post!!!! Hell yeah
Love peace and axle grease brother!
Congrats again on the move too
just used this trick on my BMW e30. you saved me a lot of grief. thanks!
Absolute amazing idea!! Worked so good! Been going at these flywheel bolts for an hour and saw this and got in a few seconds!! Appreciate it
Good idea never woulda thought of anything like this. I don't have an impact so thought I was stuck here. Ill try this tomorrow.
Thank you, Sir! I was replacing the clutch & flywheel on my accord typeS , in the driveway on axle stands with basic tools. Nightmare job, removing the subframe, etc. Finally got to this part. Was losing the plot and about to reach for the angle grinder... 😅 Nice one 👍
I was trying to figure out a method to remove my flywheel bolts! Thanks for the tip!
Cesar Hernandez no problem!
You seem like the type of guy to grind out a car in any location under any circumstances lol. Cool video and good tips 👍🏽
Awesome man, soo easy and yet I didn't get to that myself. Thank you!
Your the man. How did the 12 point not slip once
Thanks for the tip. I tried it and it worked. I also bent the trans bolt but no big deal.
Sweet, I’m changing my clutch and you can use this method with a double box end wrench to tighten them up also with your torque wrench! I thought I may need to buy a flywheel holder but this will do the trick.
Thank you! I needed this so badly! Good told impact torque wrench couldn’t move my loctite fly wheel
Bolts!!!
Thanks for posting this; it worked great for me! I had the engine out of the car, with the oil pan sitting on the floor and the top of it supported by my cherry picker. I found the best way to do this was jam the flywheel with the wrench like you showed, grab the valve cover with my right hand, the intake manifold with my left hand, and then use my left foot on the end of the breaker bar to loosen the bolts. It also worked on the crank bolt, just like you said.
I'd be careful because the flywheel bolts are really short so you're more prone to strip them
You saved my life. Thank you so much
Nice. Thanks man. Also sounds like you have a helper from the other side.
Awesome idea, I normally use a punch and stick it in the clutch bolt hole to catch the back of the block.
I have done that as well. I damaged threads once doing that though so i tried finding another way and this works pretty good but i always say do whatever works!
@@TexasHondaChannel that hasn't happen yet, but good to know. I'll do itr your way from now on. Or make a tool for it.
Tony Ventura That would actually be a very good idea!
You helped me so much man! Subbed!
Bro!!! I spent 5hrs fighting my engine. I will try this next!
Thanks its worked you help a lot, good job, shout out here from the Philippines
Made my life so muzh easier. Ur the best!!!

El Bori no problem

This helped me. Thank you.

Wow this is the best way I’ve seen
Simple but ingenious solution!
This is super smart. Thanks!
2000 Civic Flywheel, you failed to say the socket (1:25) sizes, at 12 point or what?
Then the torque?
Sweet video man that will come in Handy great way to get those off
Beautiful! Thank you!
Thanks, it worked perfectly
Brilliant. Thank you!
Pretty slick trick👍
Very helpful!!! Thank you so much!!🤙🤙🤙🤙😁😁😁😁🙏🙏🙏
Thank you! This worked awesome

Need to buy a better battery powered impact. I got one close to $300 from harbor freight, well worth it, paid for itself numerous times. First test to see if I would of kept it was at junkyard and busted loose 5 honda accord crank pulley bolts, so kept it. Had it for now about 2-3 years no issues, I just used it today to break axles, calipers, crank pulley bolt, mount, and all transmission housing bolts.
Worked for me thank you I was very upset
Good tips bross
What socket are you using ?
What size socket did you use
Thank you so much!
so easy and smart thanks
I appreciate you man
Thank you so much
Thank you so much my savior
Great tip.
Damn brother man.. awesome trick.. I am in the process of building a little turbo engine and needed flywheel off.Can I torque it back up this same way? It won't hurt the gearbox mounting bolts?
Shot bro🤜 omfl I've been struggling
Thanks dude 🙏
Dude thank you you da man!...
Lol
Thank you so much!!
No problem 💪🏻
Thanks homie
this trick works wonders
Thank you..
thanks you ..
What size of bolt did you put in the flywheel hole?
That's ingenious, but the bell housing on the corvair motor I'm disassembling won't permit it. Was thinking of using some heat. Yay? Or Nay?
it was the ghost of your engine coming back to life
Good video
great vid hopefully ill get these bolts off
THANK U
Just tried this 😂 bent one of my transmission bolts
i tried this and ended up stripping all my flywheels bolts, claimed warranty on the engine and got my money back. WASNT HAVING IT
@@SjRippaa Sounds like you had the wrong size socket on the bolts if you stripped ALL of them. I'm surprised they warrantied that
@@Coatchawa it was a used engine. i didnt say anything. besides the motor blew up 3 days after install. i was pissed af.
What size socket though
Sir which side does flywheel move
Thats great
I goona try this tomorrow m flywheel bots overtorked by impact gun n I've been trying get them off by wrench without success
Genius
does this ruin the flywheel?
So what happens if the flywheel moves?
I was trying to remove the bolts and the flywheel moves like 1inch
Nothing. It’ll spin if you don’t have leverage
Thanx Mate😂
I ain’t afraid of no ghosts 😜
Joe’s Life we use to go ghost hunting it was fun times. I’m more scared of tweakers than ghosts. Them tweakers are like real life zombies lmfao
The problem is getting these screws out with the engine in place.
W
Earthquake or Milwaukee would break the bolts free. Bauer 1/2" cordless is junk
Just get an impact! Borrow one buy one… eff the dum shhhh
What about putting it back on? You need to torque the flywheel bolts....
