The original Angel has been my signature scent for years ❤️. I find Angel to be so unique and sensual. I can always recognize Angel on others and yet, Angel is different on each individual. It's amazing how Angel is so obvious yet it's so mysterious and different. Angel is AMAZING. Angel is a classic fragrance for a reason. I will continue to wear Angel until the end of time. Rest in Peace Thierry Mugler. Thierry, tu nous manques ❤❤❤.
☀️Elixir☀️ Personnally, I grew up with my mum wearing Angel, as well as Nirmala ! Nirmala which is the perfume everyone forgot and that inspired the actual Angel because came out earlier. I don't remember everything, but my mum even told me there had been some... law poursuits because of their similarité/ twin factor without any credit from Mugler. Both are really like twins. Angel is a bit bit more on the "cold" side with the patchouli etc, and Nirmala is a bit more warm, and inspires "warmer" colours. But still, the scent is EXTFEMELY similar ^^ but Nirmala didn't change and still exists ^^ I love Molinard, nobidy talks about it but they do incredible perfumes ♡
This video is my Elixir (see what I did here hehe) : concentrated, straight to the point, but still has everything I need I was extremely disappointed by the latest Angel flankers, since Angel Muse.Whether it is Nova or Elixir, I find that they have nothing to do with the original "spirit" of Angel : something bold, polarizing, innovative, and quite unique. Whether you like it or not, Angel is one of a kind. And those flankers are... really not. Angel Nova is a lovely scent, but when I first smelled it I was immediately reminded of Tresor Midnight Rose by Lancome., VGG and VGG Glam by CH : Delina dupes, to sum it up. Angel Elixir is to me incredibly forgettable, common, and the antithesis of what Angel was initially. I feel the same way about the latest Alien flankers too, Hypersense even more so. So, they're taking their most iconic, sometimes even revolutionary fragrances, and flaking them with dupes of other houses or the most unremarkable, ordinary scents ever... That is, to me, an insult to the brand's legacy and creative integrity.
Ive been wearing Angel since it was first launched. I live in the UK and use to go over to France to buy it, till eventually I could get it in the UK. The smell has changed so much over the years, I loved the heady, punchy smell when I wore it and you could definitely smell me coming into a room! Now it seems more like a watered down version, I still wear it but would love someone to come along and recreate those heady aromas from the 90's
Since L'Oreal bought Mugler it has gone downhill...and I say that as someone who never really liked their fragrances (at least on myself) but they were extravagant and different. Angel and Alien were such iconic scents you recognized immediately. Longevity and projection were on another level. Alien Goddess, Angel Nova and Elixier is just not the same. It smells like something from Lancome - mainstream and boring.
I love perfume history videos! I think it was Mugler perfume that was the start of my obsession, I remember seeing those bottles when I was young and coveting them for my vanity. I think they can be challenging scents, you really need to have confidence in yourself because they are so powerful. Are they trying to make the new flankers more basic so they don't scare peoples noses anymore? Nova smelled like a pretty teen perfume to me. I was sent a sample of Angel Elixir and I couldn't believe it was a flanker, smelled like a totally different fragrance line. You look absolutely stunning, by the way! Love the editing in this! I’ll always love the original but my favorite flanker until now was Iced Star. The only negative thing about Iced Star was it had no longevity. The newest scent Phantasm is almost as appealing to me with its slight pina-colada scent and it lasts all day.
The Angel Nova Edt sadly is not part of this video but for me its the best of all. It has the same Dna of Nova Edp but its more brighter, rounded and much more mystic and beautiful at the same time. Its deep, fresh and bright and very special to me, i love it so much. The Nova Edp has something synthetic that is not beautiful and rounded in the drydown. Also not a fave of man while Nova Edt is always a great stunner. ♡

Elixir. Clémence, how you have your bangs here is great for you! I kinda think it's basic of me but Coco Mademoiselle is one of my favorites to smell on a woman. It's just so nice. But mostly I love when I am around/talking to a woman wearing something powerful, I find it comforting. I first was wearing fragrances when it was the 'golden age,' my favorite designers are from that period and miss when everything was a powerhouse 😂

I have many of the special edition parfums in the stunning bottles with my favourite being Angel Etoile Mystique. I have many of the flankers such as Cuir, Liqueur, le Gôut, Garden of Stars and others. Sexy on a man, smoulderingly desirable on a woman, I absolutely love vintage Angel.
Thank you for reminding me about the 90's (and the adverts... 🤣) - I really used to like Angel though it was a bit too strong for me. Have you tried Nirmala? I've heard it has insipired Mugler as his mother used it. I don't have an "experienced nose", so it's difficult for me to judge but I like Nirmala - some say it's like Angel without patchouli.
I like it until that powdery element hits then i findvit awful. Which is not great i had a tester tiny bottle and loved it bought a huge bottle and hate it. I don't understand why it was so different.
