*FIX* How I fixed WWE 2K22 game crashing in Universe mode (Cannot have more than 280 custom images)

Sorry this is happening but keep leaving comments and let us know what does and doesn't work.
So I began crashing every time I started Universe mode.
I couldn't pinpoint what the issue was until I went into creations tab and selected shows.
Boom it kept crashing there too.
It also crashed in Extras - Deletion Utility.
Bad news.
I couldn't figure out what to do until I went to community creations and there is a deletion utility there.
So first i deleted all unused images, then I deleted everything else that was an image.
And then I was able to delete the custom shows without crashing and it fixed my game.
It's a huge bummer but this should be a top priority to be fixed right now.

@@keemdadream6500 If you’re trying to see how many you have, you’ll have to count them. But the whole thing is a glitch, there isn’t supposed to be a limit. Hopefully they’ll patch it in the future.

@@Music-wu8kq you go to the Microsoft/sony page on your computer/phone depending on what console your on and then you either submit a self service refund if you have played less then 2 hours but if you have then you'll have to contact Microsoft which will be at the bottom on the website.

I'm having this issue too, this is the whole reason I want to play the game. If I can't play with custom stuff I don't want the game.
So far I have custom wrestlers without custom images even one from community creations and it works normal.
Custom renders that you add to the game via wwe2k com seem to work okay too.

@@moondogrex4627 I requested a refund and was denied because I played the game. This was on Xbox btw which really surprised me because they are usually pretty consumer friendly with refunding.

First time round (which lead to the comment on this vid) was deleting unused images and persistence in deleting logos/arenas I had downloaded from creations.
Yesterday when again having Universe mode issues it was going through stars I downloaded from creations. Fortunately I didn't need to remove all I had downloaded the day before, but still annoying I needed to for Universe to work.
I requested a refund. If I am not even able to enjoy universe mode then there is no point in keeping the game in hopes that 2k will fix it. I’ll just buy it later down the road if they do ever fix it. This was there last chance to make a good impression after the abysmal 2k20 and I think they blew it

I had to actually called Microsoft and they gave me a refund for the game and the season pass

I just did deleted images I wasn't using and it's working, didn't have to delete all of my caws thankfully🙌 thank you for the help 🙏
A little update after it started working I downloaded some caws and it started crashing again, I had to delete the new caws and images it started working without crashing. I was in contact with 2k earlier when I couldn't figure out what was wrong, I just sent them another email letting them know it has something to do with the caws or images hopefully they'll fix it in the next patch.
@@AceDice316 yup I feel like an expert at this crashing stuff after having to deal with it I started playing Monday morning and it started crashing wensday night and since then it’s been so hard to play I’ve deleted my stuff so many times at this point I tried to get a hold of 2k but they won’t help a few people on Twitter are helping but they know as much as I do so idk
I noticed it started when I started downloading arenas . Another thing the arenas I download don't show up either
@@bigdaddytrips6197 yeah I think it has something to do with the images, 2k sent me a email this morning saying 'Thank you for this information! After looking into this further, I see the development team has been notified of the issue. I appreciate you reaching out to us to make sure we know about it, since it's important to work with the community to make sure the game is at its best.' So hopefully it will be fixed in the next update patch

I'm sorry to see you all having these problems but I gotta tell you I also feel better knowing that I'm not the only one. 1st universe crashed on me so bad that I had to completely delete the game the the files were corrupted. Now that I've got the game redownloaded and I've got a 100 people Shows titles et cetera I can't do anything with it try to edit the universe crash Try to do a tournament turn it crash it's frustrating as all get out Try to do a tournament turn it crash it's frustrating as all get out. The games are expensive enough I got the nWo version And I can't play without a crashing it's b*******
Makes me wonder if these issues are the reason they can't figure out how to get 200 CAW slots.
It's also a shame that all of our alternate attires take up a CAW slot. I was hoping after 2 and a half years they would have iron'd out the kinks and make a seperate section for alternate attires.
Shame on me for thinking they make the game more user friendly. At least it aint 2k15 with what?... 20 custom wrestler slots. Yeah who thought that was 'best for business'...
@@Zodarus Yeah I hate to say it I really hope WWE goes with a different developer next year, Even if it's EA at least we know they can put together a good game. After all of these years the fact that we only have 100 caw spots and we lose some of them for all attires, still no return of create a story, and still no war games are all unexcuseable. Now add on top of all of that this game isn't 100% after the abortion that was 2k20 2k needs to go.

My problem is that I have a custom championship assigned in universe mode and I can't delete it. I have deleted everything else except for that.
Oh man, yeah my best advice is to go to try and delete the universe mode save (if it diesnt crash) using the extras tab then deletoin utility,. idk what else you can do except to wait for 2k to patch the issue :(

Custom Images. If your game is crashing then you should delete any recently downloaded images or characters who may dawn these corrupted images. Just tested, after having my game crash while exiting the Match Options. Thanks for the insight with this video. 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽 Happy Gaming!!
But i guess my problem is from the MITB that I added in universe mode , I can’t delete the MiTB until I remove it from universe which i can’t access to it.

@@Zodarus to be fair in play testing they don't really download things from other players so this could be a blindside for them give them some time game has olny been out a week they will patch it and all will be fine
Ok everybody heres the work around basically the game is broken.. but theres a way to mitigate it , I'm sorry but first u have to delete everything theres no telling how many corrupted files u have downloaded to this point, & when it only takes one bad file 2 make the game crash theres no salvaging it, so after u delete everything u have to do this. Go download what catches your eye never download more then 1 thing at a time and after u do, go set up a exhibition but manually change the venue!! Again manually change the venue!! Now start the game & if it crashes go to deletion utility and delete what u just downloaded, but make sure u highlight the second row!!!! that's the option to delete all images associated with it.. just deleting it wont delete the corrupted files, so if u dont highlight the second row youll have to fish out the corrupted files amongst all your good ones n if u delete one file from another custom arena, custom belt custom show or caw it will corrupt that file cause somethings missing from it!!! also don't download just images I say this because if u download a corrupted file u will have to go threw every good image u have, but the choice is yours... again shows arenas & caws are easy to delete & locate, But lookijg for a files can take 4 ever to locate... fingers crossed this gets fixed with a patch soon!!!.. if not downloading will be a full time job... and also u will see how broken the game is by micromanaging it u will see there's more corrupted files then good ones out there, at this point I expect everything I choose 2 download will result in console crash, it's truly that bad... but using this method, I have about 30 good caws now no corrupted files. 3 shows with custom arenas and images.. soooo good luck & happy hunting🤮
Keep me updated dude because my game crashes after only having 2 CAW’s downloaded.. literally only 10 images… but by what you wrote, you saying it’s not how much images you have or MB, it’s more or less a particular one that you download that can be a corrupted file? So whether you have only 2 CAW’s or 100, the game crashes because of you may have downloaded a single corrupted file?

I also read recently that 280 images is the limit for now until a patch go to deletion utility under options scroll to custom images scroll threw amd see how many u have if it's over 280 that may be your problem it's not numerically aligned lol smh it's all over but you'll see the numbers if u see a number of more then 280 that's the problem delete all of them and start over with that in mind amd after each download go to exhibition start a match and manually choose a venue if u don't crash out go down load another and so on and so on.. micromanage it.. until the patch
If you’re having issues with universe or having issues with custom images that are being used in Universe, go to Extras, deletion utility and go to Universe and delete your universe slots to delete it from being used
That also works however it crashes for me in Extras because I had too many images. To do the same method, and avoid crashing, use Image Manager in community creations.

I play on series s and when i want to play hell in a cell or fatal 4 way matchs the game will crash and drop me out

Ever since downloading custom renders, my game has been crashing. Can't get into universe mode or any other mode.
I hate that I bought the game. This shit is ridiculous. Had the game since it was released only got to play it 3 time. I won’t give these people a chance with my money again.

@sam Harris u have to delete the shows too not just the caws and the images that's in the shows from the menu where it says deletion utility

This may sound stupid but if I delete a face scan will it take of the face scan of the caw it belongs to?
That's a great question what you could try to do is duplicate the wrestler and then try deleting one of the images while still having the other duplicated.
I'm dealing with crashes in regular expedition matches which it'll crash when I try to start up matches will these tips help?

It's just certain caws you can have gotta do trial and error shit crazy but I only found 1 arena that works that the raw 98 version

Game still crashing after deleting all custom images and arenas. Got the nwo edition so worried i might lose something that came with the original purchase. Man they need to patch this ASAP. Can’t creat show, play universe mode, select custom arena in exhibition, delete universe mode in community creations without it cutting off
Update: I've found a solution
So everytime I got to survivor series it crashed so what you want to do is switch your character to NXT for a week and then switch back to the main brands that way you bypass survivor series best of the best in universe mode

That is a great question. Because it's only supposed to delete "unused" images but many times it has deleted used stuff. The game is shit, it's broke and they robbed us.
If you have the game and time I recommend playing 2K19 on PC with mods as it's a much better experience if you have the patience.

if you have more than 280 custom images this is what causes the issue. I tested it again last night and thats the only reason it happens.

I noticed the same thing, maybe this could be a root cause of the issue.
However using wwe2k com and putting my own renders seems to work just fine aside from it not scaling properly. (I only have 2 at the moment.) Thanks for your help.

This method won’t work for me because of the images being used in Universe mode.. and I can’t access Universe mode to delete it without crashing. Seems I have to either delete my entire save file for the game, or wait for a fix.

It crashed when i get to the deletion screen for images/universe. I’m using a custom downloaded tommy end for universe and it crashes. It crashes whenever i enter Online/Universe/custom shows/deletion utility for images/universe/custom shows. Really weird. They gotta send out an update asap
The game keep crashing on multiple modes after i started adding caws and shows. Create a show , 20 mens rumble , custom arena, community creations and probably a bunch of stuff i didn’t try yet. Got the game Friday and asked for a refund this morning. The franchise is dead

Has anyone else had an issue trying to upload a Vengeance '01 arena to CC??? Keep ending up getting a frozen loading screen when I try.
Yeah I can't upload anything it glitches and shows one of my other unrelated custom creations when trying to upload something. (On Xbox Series console)

Also apparently its ONLY Vengeance '01 that cant be uploaded , I posted more arenas after this comment with no interruptions.
The trouble is the downloaded images if you uploaded them yourself through the 2k image manager I found the issue is not there

It did not and I have corrupted data even though it’s not and idk what to do?
My save is currently corrupted it tells me on start up is corrupted and create new save data from the title screen but there is no option anywhere to create new save data if it means from universe mode i can't because everytime i start a new universe mode it tells me same thing the data is corrupted and to start new save data from the title screen

280 megabytes is small compared to 500 gigabytes or one tereabyte on your console.
I cannot play universe at all everytime I try I get a crash with error CE-34878-0

Im sure this is fixed now but honestly i had no crash issues at all just issues with myfaction for the 3 early access days which it being an online mode is expected. Since full release ive had no issues with crashes or anything. Now in game glitches is a dif story lol.

To bad 2k turned off the servers in 2k19 so you can't get caws from community creations or online so you're left with only playing 2k22

What platform do you play on? I wasn't aware that this issue still happens. Try deleting unused content but be careful because it may delete your save renders unless you have them used on the wrestler.
Everything in 20 as far as images or custom wrestlers were unlimited. Then I reach a specific number of images/ created wrestlers and now there’s a limit?? Like what the fuck are we on 2k??

Mine keeps crashing without any created shows. Just caws. Deleted all caws now it works . This is so aggravating

Problem for me has been upon discovering the custom shows I've downloaded being the possible cause it crashes entering the custom shows/edit section so it prevents deleting them to truly see if any were the cause.
On universe mode the issue first was when entering the title management section, deleted 1 downloaded belt, and that seemed to stop being a problem. Changed to custom shows.
I Deleted Almost Everything I Had & Made It Clear That I'm Not Gonna Download Anything Until The Issue Gets Resolved & Somehow & Someway I Think I Made The Right Decision

I think from my knowledge it depends on the ones you download some are corrupted and you can’t download them I’m trying to narrow it down to the corrupted ones that are ruining my game

I'm in the same boat I got excited and downloaded a lot of different arenas and it started crashing so now I delete all of the arrangements and all of the credit wrestlers but I want to try to find the right ones to download that won't make it crash some dope arenas anyone have any ideas
