Finally a good video on chipping! Thanks.
Just saw your comment over on Art and Bri! Was a subscriber for a while...then left for a bit...now I'm back...I enjoy your channel buddy! Thanks for the content! Josh
Impressive that it can chip branches 15 - 20 cm / 6-8 inches in diameter.
I help to maintain a local public park. Every spring there are loads of branches on the ground which were broken off the trees during the winter. This machine would be Very helpful during the spring cleaning of the park.
For the money, that is the nicest wood chipper I've come across. A tractor of the right size and with PTO and three-point hitch capability will provide enough chips for any farm or homestead. Thank you for this video. Great channel.
Yay. Henry got to ride with Dad! Thanks for explaining all the different uses for the wood chips and how the animal take part in the processes.
Wow, that chipper takes a decent size branch! We have a big ol' Vermeer. But we do it commercially. Very nice. 🌳
Very interesting video series in regards to taking down this tree.
I have been enjoying your videos for several months. Today I noticed you're close to 100,000 subs. So I subscribed today!
Awesome wow love that trailer. Great job. Just love watching you work on your farm. Glad you had some help :). Looking forward to the spring farming videos. God bless you and all your family always.
Greetings from Poland :)
Seeing this video makes me value my forst chipper even more. It looks good for the money but glad I don’t have to use it. Keep up the good work.
It’s wonderful you found a great Wood chipper! It seems fast and efficient to use 👍👍👍👍
I like your videos you put so much effort in it and try to explain it in the best way posible💪😆
This looks like a nice chipper. The chipper is really going through that wood. Nice video and you now have a good amount of wood chips.
Very nice machine. Thank you.
Yep. I have one of the cheep ones. Love to have one of those chippers for thinning our forest area.. love the dump bed also. Great video. Have a great day..!!
100,000 subscribers soon!!!
Congrats in advance 🤗
fantastic episode! We have a TP 130 chipper (danish brand) more expensive but we got here via two cheap versions, I agreed with absolutely everything you said... spot on! I have an idea for a project you could share here on youtube. How about more on biomass heating using woodchip composting to heat (either) hottub or polytunnel or something else...?? Simple project and I'd be super interested (I'm sure many others would as well). Keep up the great work. Greetings from Denmark :-)
Really good explanation on how to choose a good wood chipper--love your videos!
Hey brother, can you do a show on all the different uses of the wood chip you mentioned?
Thanks 👍
My daughter's first bike was made in Poland it was built like a tank.
Simeon I miss the rooster.😁
I enjoy your videos, thanks
Nice Tool! Would love to have something like that haha.
Love the channel!
I might have to order one for myself, just to support my countryman. Awesome!!! Nothing beats high quality engineering, not just from Poland, but other European countries. Awesome trailer. Do you have a vid on how to make it or plans?
Thank you.
God Bless.
. . . so it gets more and more known that there is a lot of very good and competitive engineering in Poland . . .
100k on the way! Finally some good news from Sweden
The biomeiler concept was new to me, so I looked it up. That looks very practical and worthwhile for cold areas. What a money saver over time, it seems. Here in Central FLA, the off-grid challenge is cooling, not heating! If somebody designs a compost pile that will keep my home at 72° all summer, you've got my attention!
What do you think about straw bale houses. They insulate against heat as well. In Germany where I grew up, the old houses built with clay and stray are the coolest during hot summer season.
Swedish Homestead I'm not sure how bales would do in our very high humidity and heavy pest load. It might be worth looking into, though. I think a big difference is, during the summer here, it never gets cool. Low Temps at night are in high 70s, even low 80s. To keep the cool in the house, it would have to start cool.
Great setup, ace for clearing land, better than burning. Super video.
Hi Simeon 👋nice video👍it’s interesting 👌
Looks like a decent chipper if A. you have a tractor to run it and B. have access to get the tractor and chipper to the worksite, the smaller 13-15hp manually fed chippers are more suited to jobs at domestic property where the chipper needs taken on a trailer and you need to get it in a small garden.
Yes, that is true. Those chippers are very handy. This chipper is owned by Tim and hes actually has a trailer where he can drive the tractor and chipper to the customer. Still much easier with a chipper that can be pulled behind the truck. They are much more expensive though.
GOOD JOB THANKS
Looks like a pretty dangerous beast! Ever see the movie Drowning Mona?
Your little tractor was sure worth its money.
The words you were looking for are ,torque or powe.r in what the weighted fly wheel does.
I use a Timberwolf self propelled chipper it has a pulling power on the infeed rollers of 6ton and chews up wood in seconds
Typically around here we just rent a chipper when we have a need. Saves a ton of money since we don't need a chipper all of the time.
That looks amazing! I'm very much curious about this wood/water fuel source you mentioned.
Now that is COOL!
As Reg Sparkes comments below the PTO shaft angle is way too big. The joint will not last very long. And this was chipping one of the softest trees we have in Nordic counties. Use your brothers tractor as you mentioned. That will correct the PTO angle and there will be more power.
Have you looked at RCW (Ramial Chipped Wood)? I think the concept is from Canada. Basically you sort out the thinner branches which has a much lower C/N ratio. This material doesn't absorb nitrogen from its surroundings like chips from older growth does. Used as mulch especially for perennials, or more specifically, plants that prefer a fungal dominated soil. The berry bushes love it.
Interesting. For me, I use the chips mainly for bedding for the animals in which case I want them to absorb the nitrogen.
Berry bushes love it because its full of acid and berries love acidic soils.
Any PH effect is temporary, the so called "acid loving" plants like blueberry, strawberry and the like thrive in a neutral ph soil, but they loose the advantage of being acid tolerant, and get outcompeted by grass. These plants like this kind of mulch because they prefer a fungal dominated soil, all plants that are in it for the long run do. 90- something percent of plants associate with the mycorrhizza fungi. A well known exeption is plants in the brassica family.
Are you going build a biomeiler? That would be really interesting, especially if you revisited it on a regular basis and made honest reports on how it performs over time. With numbers, pitfalls, "teething" problems, lessons learned, etc. Usually one only sees euphoric vids when they're build but their performance is usually not documented well.
My dad and I are hoping to tackle that project in the future.
FYI The Native Power channel goo.gl/sppHSC has a bunch of vids about the topic but it looks like they stopped to publish them.
Nice video. If i were you i would use the larger tractor for that. Mutch force on the PTO axel/bearing on that little one. Worst case you can brake the whole rear housing on the tractor. Know that it has happend on some small tractors when to large machines as for example grass cutter is used on them. Only a tipp. You do as you want ofc 👍
You are a good chipper.
hey Brother are you a hockey fan? looking forward to Rassmus Darlin playing in the NHL.
Great video
I get to borrow one of those cheep Chinese chippers, they work ok, a bit over half the speed of yours I would guess. If you cut out the broader branch forks, it feeds itself, and then it feeds much faster than with hydraulic feed. But you got to keep the rpm's up. The rev counter is broken on my -63 MF, but I think I'm about 10-20% over the nominal 540 rpm. More speed means more stored energy, it makes up for some of the disadvantage of having a lighter flywheel.
A growing amount of farm machinery seems to be built in Poland nowadays. Particular grassland machinery and sprayers.
A bigger tractor would be under less load with your chipper, Simeon, and the PTO shaft joints would be straighter and last longer.
Sure... This is the minimum size tractor that is required. If I had a bigger tractor, I would use it. The PTO shaft joints all have pre-made breaking points that have a softer metal bolt. Those break before anything bends.
I have some cheap good italian stuff.
Swedish Homestead OK, the Deutz might be overkill I suppose.
The shear bolts in the PTO will save the shaft from shock loads, but are not designed to save the Hardy Spicers in the joints from getting hammered from running acute angles.
Bought a big box chipper and it froze up and died after one year! $600! Then I found a different chipper...the big boy that our local municipality uses.. Yes it’s about $18,500 but there are some good used deals out there and you can feed 15” (38 cm) logs into it with branches into it and it sucks it through and out comes 1”-4” chips that cover the ground and feed the fire etc.
Simeon, the big wheel is a flywheel, and the energy provided by its mass is momentum. I hope that helps!
Thanks. That does help.
We call it a rotor here. The blades would affix to the rotor and greaseable big bearings on each end of the rotor shaft.
I cant see the reason why you need chip branches more than 6-8cm diam. It is firewood or paper wood dia.!
Hello! Do you still own that same tractor? Or not? Im curious hiw you're getting on with it after a few years
Be sure to let tree cpmpanies know you'll take loads. Free is free and more is better. Load up with corn and keep cattle in after rains when fields aren't ready. Send in the chickens 3 days later. Pigs to make compost before fall harvest. Add more chips rinse and repeat in spot of use.
No free wood chips here in Sweden. Everything is being sold and used as fuel.
I really like the back thing that raises up to dump the wood chips. What do you call that back thing? I need one of those.
Great video as always! I noticed the sharp angle of the u-joint on the PTO (power take-off) shaft. That is hard on the u-joint. Is there any way you can attach the chipper so the shaft is straighter and more level?
Do you have a video on making that trailler setup?
Thanks
Our last video was about that.
It is very impressive
I wonder how this unit compares to anything available here in the US?
I have a Woodland Mills WC88 and it is awesome. Check out the detailed video on it on the Woodland Mills channel. Fast delivery and very well made.
Thanks?)
Would love to have that chipper. On another note, it looks to me like a lot of what you're chipping would make great firewood . . . for me at least. ;)
Aspen is not good quality firewood.
Well maybe not in your neck of the woods it isn't but out here in the western U.S. if you're cured it for a year it's great firewood actually. Everyone's mileage may vary of course. ;)
"you're" = "you've"
Yes if it’s the best you’ve got, it burns well once dry, and creates heat, but Simeon has birch which is more BTUs for the same amount of wood. Aspen creates a lot of ash and burns fast so you need much more for the same heat value. In his case it’s worth more to him as chips.
Agreed in full. ;)
Exact make and model please
84 acres Ontario Canada looking for the right fit family
Hi what's the brand of the wood chipper
Will Rains "Inventor"
Do you guys know if that chipper is available in America? I have a 27 HP DIESEL tractor and I am looking for something like this. I was looking at DR Chipper which is a popular brand that is made I'm the US here.
do you have more info on this chipper? maybe a link? Thank you!
I don't have a link, sorry.
Swedish Homestead: Can you give us the brand name of the chipper since you don’t have a link?
@@CliffsideStables Here's a link for you (you'll probably need to use Google translate):

Thanks, nice lesson and advises.
That works, but I wonder is it the camera lens or is that drive shaft from the PTO, really at that sharp an angle ?
I couldn't help noticing that, too. I'm guessing that it's just due to the small tractor being lower to the ground. Your average "normal-sized" farm tractor (like Tim's) would probably have the PTO output up higher still, which would result in a straighter run on the shaft.
Stan, yes that's a good thought too,..I always pay attention to angle's on u-joints operating, as I can remember being taught that these joints should run at no more than 15 degrees, ideally. I was thinking too that I'd like to see a shield over that shaft/joint.
chipper is running off tractor's PTO ?
why not firewood the big branches
Has more value as chips. Aspen is low quality firewood.
Does anyone know the brand of this Polish made chipper? Or if they are available in the US? I've been seriously looking at woodland mills and woodmaxx 8" pto chippers if I don't find an old chuck and duck style or Promark 310 or comparable self powered machine.
Awesome!
Nice.
You mentioned the variety of chip sizes you get compared to bigger commercial chippers, is that because of more than two blades on the flywheel or some other factor?
We have chosen this size by adjusting the blades. Then we also use smaller logs. The big commercial chippers have more power and chip faster and bigger.
Actually Julie, the commercial chippers chip in sizes much smaller than Simeon's. I'm not sure what commercial brand he has seen working, perhaps one with extremely dull and chipped up blades or very large forresty industrial chippers where they grind up very large trees every time. I have a Vermeer chipper (6" and about $17,000) and the chip sizes are all uniform and about the size of a lima bean when the blades are sharp. Its only when the blades are dull does it start to shoot out larger chips, but no where near the size of the one he demonstrated.
A couple things about commercial chippers were wrong. No big deal love the channel hope all is well!
Agreed.
The Polish philosophy is to Overbuild the shit out of it, we learned it from The Russians. Make it 3 times as heavy and 4 times as durable.💪💪💪💪
Hah !!!
👌👍
Wait... The chicken will spread that out by themselves?!?
Yes.
YOU CAN MAKE FUEL FOR EQUIPMENT FROM WOOD CHIPS (ETHYL ALCOHOL)
Did you build the Woodchipptailor your self? If so, could you please make a Video about it. By the way the Woodchipper looks amazing.🚜👌👍😉
Check out our previous video. It is about the trailer.
Swedish Homestead thanks for the answer 🚜👍
The chippers shown in this video:

bonjour , could you explain more in detail ( at 7:45 to 8:15 ) . merci
Shalom simeon, when start you your chanel?
What is the thing you mentioned at 7:49?

Thanks for the video Simon.
Another affordable wood chipper of high quality and made for small tractors is this one: ruclips.net/video/ad782WQdxOo/видео.html
EU warehouse located in Gothenburg Sweden. I don't have this chipper myself yet, but I would love to get my hands on one!
NICE!!!!!!!! The ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND WHANGLEMYNECK,, IS YOU PAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE HE WOULD OF WEAZLED IT!!!!! THANKS FOR THE GREAT VID.
