I'm not a Christian but I have to say that I really respect you and what you do, especially as you don't force your beliefs on to your viewers. Your videos are truly inspirational and they give me hope in these bleak times about the future of humanity. All the best and good wishes about the upcoming season :)
I really appreciate your videos and insight. I don’t eat pork but I understand how they could be useful if I had a farm. The way corporate pig farms treat pigs is atrocious!! Seeing your pigs enjoy the environment you’ve made for them is heartwarming!!! Keep it up!! And I want to see more of your beautiful wife and children!! You’ve been blessed! I pray the cobalt monsters stay away from your pristine homestead!!!!
Animal husbandry, videography, land sourcing and conservation and now book reviews. Is there any end to this man's talents? (Oh, I forgot land/hardscape architecture and design!) Simeon, I'm getting just a little bit tired of being interested, enthralled, amazed and "hooked on " all you offer us. "Thank you" seems kinda weak as a way to express my gratitude for all you’ve given us. I just wish that you had the time 😂 and the energy 🥴 to do videos more often. Sending love from N.H. Patricia 👵🏻 😘
Those little piggies are doing a great job! When they get bigger they're like a plow.. I had pig's in the 60's on my farm. They sure can prepare a field for planting. I believe in treating all animal's with respect even the ones headed for your table..👍👍 🕊❤Jeanne on the Oregon coast
I love your little pigs and what hard workers! At times it was almost hard to concentrate on what you were saying due to pig adorableness. They started to come up to you SO many times. I hope they get tamer as they grow. Thanks for the book recommendations! I paused the video to see if my library has Joel Salatin's newest. They don't, but I ordered another one. I'm glad you added this feature to your videos. And lastly, I know I say this a lot, but you could put footage of your beautiful cows in every vlog and I'd never get tired of seeing them.
Love your review of the 2 books! I’ll be looking into the Optimisfits book. I really liked your reading of Joe Salatin’s biblical views in how we raise our food animals. All the best with your 3 little piggies. God Bless you, your family & farm in all the ways you need.
Hi, from Washington State. I’ve been following you now for about a year and love what you’re doing and getting to know you and you’re beautiful family. I’m an animal lover so watching you care for yours is so heartwarming for me. Thank you for sharing your interesting life!
I love The Marvelous Pigness of Pigs!!! I have the audio book of it and Joel himself reads it. It is great to hear someone preach so enthusiastically and knowledgeably from the book of creation and the Bible. How we treat God's gifts to us is one of the most important ways we can show our love for him.
Lovely video Simeon, a strong faith in God is what keeps me going every day, even if I can't live on a farm. I do live close to farm country tho and happily support my friends who are christian farmers and raise their livestock and poultry with faith and kindness. It makes all the difference to me to know they respect the creation given us a gift to care for, that, and their milk and eggs don't give me allergic fits like those in the stores because of it. Thanks for sharing. God bless you and your lovely family. Have a God blessed day!
Oh my how beautiful is that !! The pigs are in hog heaven !!! Very nice !! Wish i could afford that book on depression ! Cuz the blue dog is always on my head !!! Thanks Simeon !!
How awesome to start my day with a video of your beautiful farm and animals. Your cows look so relaxed and awesome just laying around all together. They know you take care of them and sure show it. Your little piggies are still afraid of you-so cute. Little do they know they will become dinner on your future holiday dinner tables and meals. Sounds like you needed to go feed them chickens that rooster crowing was really letting you know he's there too. Thanks for the book recommendations I will be getting them both. Sounds like very good informative reading. God bless you and all your family and in all you do. Prayers always for you all and your in laws too. God bless.
Thanks for the book recommendations. Enjoyed watching the pigs and the resting cow while you were talking. Hope your wife's parents are doing better. Keep up the good work.
How beautiful to see the cows out on pasture. Oh my look at the piggies running and playing. I just love your videos, I feel a little bummed when you don't post for awhile. Keeping you inlaws in prayers. Please continue posting, even though I live on a very small plot, and restricted in the type of livestock I can have here, I still learn so much from you. Thank you.
Just found this video and I love to watch the pigs root with their noses. The book seems like one I would love to read. Love your animals, thank you so much.
I "read" a couple of Joel's books on audible including The Pigness of Pigs. It's such a blessing to hear him read his own words. Will have to read the other boos you recommended as well. God is good! Blessings to you and your family dear brother.
Those "three little pigs" are so cute, and are loving it there! Great permaculture that you have established... wonderful! I'll certainly get those books - thank you - they sound very helpful and interesting! Lord bless you and your family ~ take care, and thanks for another great video! 👍😊👋🙏
4 legged steam shovels, we raised pig when we were young, they are the coolest farm critters there is, as smart as the smartest dog and loyal if you want a pet. thanks for posting
Thanks for sharing. I always raised my animals humanely because you end up with a better freezer. Little pigs are so cute but mine always had names like Hot Sausage or Pork Chop or Ham Hocks. You and your family are going to be survivors if the world takes a misstep.
Thank you for sharing. I remember when you went to Joe Salatin's farm and learned about the method you are using with the pigs. They do look so very happy, and the system is working. :-) So happy for you and your family!
When I had rabbits, I would keep my chickens digging and scratching under the rabbit pens. It made wonderful fertilizer which did not need to be composted (rabbit manure does not burn).
Cheers Simeon! We have our pigs starting on the chicken run turning up the good stuff. Then out to pasture on the hillside. The books sound interesting.
Hello, I'm Christina. I watch your videos often, been praying for you wherever you say things are tough times. Didn't know you were Christian but suspected it. Will be looking for the two books you recommended. All of your videos are so good and full of useful info- I wish I had a farm just so I can do these things too. perhaps when we get to heaven, there will be a perfect farm there, just because God loves to watch us enjoy things He created...
Thanks so much for showing the beginning of the pigerators work. I am fascinated by that concept but everything I have seen from the saladin's farm was either before the pigs or after they were done. Please give us an update in a few months when they get bigger and dig deeper. I am excited for you, I hope you get tons of compost from the piggies.
I'm back...lol.. think about giving us poor city dwellers a look into a morning there. Love to see you come out a little before sunrise and put the camera on a tripod and let it roll on the cows.. Never saw the sunrise in Sweden and especially not over animals as beautiful as those cows.
I raise pigs on my homestead. I am doing Berkshire breed. I keep 3 sows and a boar I'm looking to get 6 litters per year. All outside all year round as they should be! Great job!
I am going to buy these books. I trust your judgement just by listening and watching your videos!! It is always a pleasure to watch you and your family including your family of animals.
Kane Smith start by doing research. Realizing there are no vacations. It's for life. Start by volunteering to help on a farm near you. Learn the work. Then. Think some more & work towards it.
Very cool "pig pen." I raise free range pastured waterfowl for eggs and meat. If I had more pasture I would have some tiny breed cattle and small breed pigs.
Thank you, Simeon, for all that you share. You are a inspiration and a blessing. Thank you for the book recommendations. I didn’t catch the author for Optimisfits. Could you please provide that?
Simeon, Glad to hear about the answer to prayers for extra rain showers. The Highlanders are looking extra beautiful in the green field; the pigs seem to be enjoying their rooting "job." Thanks for the book recommendations. Just wondering if the Highlander (on your sweatshirt) will ever be brought back as a clothing option?
Thank God for the rain and answered prayers! Just curious, wouldn't pitchforking the compost a little help the piggies turn everything a little quicker?
I would break a pitchfork. The whole idea is that the pigs do the job for me. It doesn't really matter that it takes some time since the composting will go on for several weeks anyway.
I shouted Alleluja when you said you were a Christian! I now see the LORD JESUS led me to subscribe about a year ago. I'm in Illinois and I thought farmer in Sweden? But your create beautiful videos that showcase God's creation. And I have had a dream of living in a farm. During the situation with Sally I began to wonder if you were a Christian and with the government working to destroy the land and your work I was hoping you had faith in Lord to sustain you. You are being a strong testimony as a Christian in caring for the gift of creation we have been made custodians of. May all who see you come to know and understand the reason why you live and work and make choices as you do. May the King and Lord of the Universe, the Holy one of Israel, our Messiah and lover if our soul Bless you and your family. May he always protect you and all under your care.
Ode to an oink What morsel so delights the taste? What aroma dare lure you from deep slumber? Wafting from the kitchen space Into the sleeping chamber. No breakfast like eggs with Bacon Or lunch of BLT’s So set the savory juices flowing; Oh so certainly to please. Hams, chops, sweet tender loins What wonderful delicious meat. Not only do we eat the hog We even, pickle, and eat it’s feet. Men bet fortunes on pork bellies, Great slabs of larded fat. Then invest their earnings in smokers for bones And all manner of sauces for that. And so it is, the humble pig farmer, To whom not many are kind, Has placed on our table a feast for a king, Behold the magnificent swine.
pigs are good compost makers and put the chickens in next to get rid of seeds and break up chunks. Its to bad you didn't have the winter cow hovel on wheels.
I'm not a Christian but I have to say that I really respect you and what you do, especially as you don't force your beliefs on to your viewers. All of your animals are happy! You are a wonderful farmer! Thank you for sharing👍🏻💕😊
The world's most beautiful cows! The pigs are doing great and look so happy! Prayers and blessings to your family!

Love what you do! Your Homestead gives me inspiration for me starting my small farm here in NY! A lot of work!
Thanks for sharing. I always raised my animals humanely because you end up with a better freezer. Little pigs are so cute but mine always had names like Hot Sausage or Pork Chop or Ham Hocks. You and your family are going to be survivors if the world takes a misstep.

Piggerator!!! I really enjoyed the MPOP book too, Joel's faith influenced mine as well as his farming practices ❤
🙏 for you ILs health and peace in Christ.
Damn, that compost area is bigger than my front and back yard put together in the shared apartment complex, how does anyone even get into farming?
Am watching this at 2am in Australia and have the window open your roosters have just set mine off crowing.

be interesting to see how the pigs do would think that wouldn't be quite enough to grow let alone sustain them.
