- The Australian cricket team toured England in the 1985 season to play a six-match Test series against England.
England won the series 3-1 with two matches drawn. England therefore regained The Ashes.
Ditto, Mr Kipling. This was my cricket debut. Never looked back.
Brilliant mate. I really appreciate your reply. Are you still watching?? I'm still mainly a test cricket fan but I don't mind the ODI game. T20's?? You can keep that nonsense. Even County Cricket for me, over T20's. I'm a member of Surrey and England now. Planning on going to the next Ashes series in Australia.
This was the first Ashes series I ever watched live on television. I watched as much of it as I was able to and it was brilliant. Thanks for uploading these mate. Brings back great memories.
Pretty much exactly my thoughts. The series that hooked me on cricket. Wonderful memories 🙂
16:25 the angles make me think that the ball hit Lamb on the way up after bouncing but it is hard to see. Terrible decision though. Benefit of the doubt?
Remember it well .year 11,@ figtree high,1985
Andrew Hilditch was Bothams bunny ...that long leg trap had him all ends up .
Gatting was Herschelle Gibbs, before Herschelle Gibbs!! Gatting's dropped catch in India in the 1993 test series, was even worse!!
And that’s before his reverse sweep in the 1987 World Cup Final.
But God bless Gatt, he did win us everything on the 86/87 Ashes tour.
"Margaret Thatcher's Government loathed across much of the land". Why mention this? What the hell has this got to do with cricket? By the way, she won handsomely 2 years later.

It’s a true statement, but you’re right, it’s not relevant.
They’d never say about the 2005 series that Blair was hugely unpopular due to Iraq.
