- This was one of the bloodiest massacres in American history, but it’s been mostly erased from history! Why? Because it reveals the truth about a terrible racist myth we’ve all been taught.

Thanks for teaching the Correct Black ⚫️ History of this country and the Correct History of this country 👏
You are so welcome! 🧡
It's clear from reading accounts from the period that racism was widespread even among abolitionists. They might not have agreed with slavery, but they were still racist. I'd never heard of this before, though 😞
Many of them just thought slavery itself was wrong and even evil! But they never wanted equality for black people or saw black people as equals! Harriet Beecher Stowe and her husband were some of the few abolitionists who had a better view of black people by having them stay at their house through the underground Railroad, attending black people's wedding, and having them over to dinner! The character from her book "Uncle Tom's Cabin" was based on a friend of hers! A black abolitionist named Josiah Henson! In 1850 she hid a runaway slave in her home and had her children care for him! But even she did not want equality for black people! She even suggested in letters to friends that emancipated blacks should be sent to Africa and used derogatory terms to describe black servants! Her black characters in the book were written with racists and stereotypical views! She wanted slavery to end but wanted it replaced with something less than equality! But her book managed to change many people's minds about slavery, which helped Northerners see the realities of slavery and helped build antislaver sentiments in America and abroad!
EXACTLY!
@@cindychristian1700wow thank you for writing all that out! I didn't know that history.
@@cindychristian1700 I couldn't bring myself to finish Uncle Tom's Cabin - it was *that* racist
@@kikijewell2967 Your welcome!
The North, West, & East are just as bad if not worse than the South!
Definitely something to consider!
@@PushBlack
That's not something to consider, that's a fact.
I thank YAH for this channel. I don't have the funds to support it right now, I can ONLY PRAY for more donors to pledge to the continuation of this much needed black history. I cry in my soul. I tear my clothes in anguish for what our ancestors and every generation has endured from racist WS.😢😢😢 But we still vote for these politicians who won't even sign for an anti hate bill for us. They just outlawed lynchings. Smh. Lord have Mercy
In a MAGA ran government things like repatriations and anti-black hate crime bill wouldn't even be up for discussion. There is no way we will give Trump our vote.
We appreciate your support and we are glad you watched this video! 🧡
This was interesting and true. It was the Irish in NY who started the draft riots. They were not to fond of Blacks because they both competed for low paying jobs It was a barbaric time. Union soldiers fresh from and battle hard from Gettysburg came and put the rioters down 120 of the rioters were killed
So glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching! 🧡
@@PushBlack thank you for the video
Heard of this but not the full details.
Thanks for listening in!
Knew about the racism, and the backlash from some volunteers in the Union Army following the Emancipation Declaration. Not sure if I'd heard about the scale of this particular riot though.
Good luck with the Channel from south of the Equator
