No hate bro. Lets say Repaint cost is 30k(which is not true for quality repaint). There is a clear coat on top of paint which keeps the paint glossy and new looking. That clear coat will fade in very little time and the car will get dull and will have 1000+ swirl marks and hairlines scratches along with deep scratches. So according to your logic, one will have to repaint every 3-4 months to keep the car looking new and to avoid a car with scratches.

@@nimitverma3460 I enquired Detailing Devils once. They quoted 50k for a roll. So considering that, theres no way only 15k worth of film will be used. And on top of that, other expenses are there too. Paint correction is also done prior to installation of PPf.

Thn ask for labour cost only for application. 50 feet sheet cost is 40k u even might don't know length of roll. In 50 feet they do 4 cars. Overall cost coming out 10k for one car. Search ppf roll in India mart

I use premium wax polish on my car and bike and the result is excellent. Didn't feel the need for ceramic coating, waxing is enough for protection. PPF is even worse because while cutting the film as required leaves deep scratches making the sheet metal prone to rust (if not done properly and even if done properly scratch marks are inevitable).
I really appreciate your efforts in enlightening people on this coating market scam.!! Funny part is you even tired to explain it sticking on your forehead, people should understand your efforts and struggle 👏
A couple of things seemed odd about this video:
1. Oil pastels used by a painter and and car's paint are completely different stuff. So there's no correlation between them.
2. Companies do not provide PPF coating as it'll only increase the car's price. Moreover, having a PPF or not is more of an individual choice, it's not a mandatory service. Just like mobile phone companies do not usually provide the case or screen protectors. But these things do protect the phone from damages.
3. How can you compare applying polythene on a human face with applying PPF on a car? That logic is funny infact. Do people not use screen protectors on their phones to protect from scratches? Is it the same as applying polythene on the face?
Apart from the above, I do agree that PPF coating come very costly and may not be value for money, but they do protect the car from swirl marks, minor day to day scratches, bird droppings damage etc. People who have some spare money, can go for it while people who are on budget may avoid.
I agree with the last line Spare Money is the key you can even go to space if you got that ,otherwise PPF is a scam

Actual cost of good quality sheet is 10-15k in manufacturing for the whole car. Buy direct from India Mart then ask mechanic for labor cost only.

For that 1.5Lac if we do simple math, you can get ₹500 proper professional car wash every week for the next 5.7 years.
So even if u don’t get your car washed everyday, get it professionally washed every week or 2 week (even monthly in some case). This will last the paint longer.
You'll get swirl marks even at premium washes.

Brother you are wrong in case of ppf as ppf protects you from unwanted scratches and helps you avoid minor scratches on paint which can come on your car. Aap painter/artist ho i can understand ki aapko aisa lag raha ho ki it won’t help the paint but in real world scenario agar car pe scratch hota hai toh dekh hota hai good ppf will always make sure ki aapki car will get less scratches and it will provide that safety

Best is to buy good quality micro fibre cloth,water absorvant cotton cloth,good quality car sampoo mixed with soluble wax and an air blower to blow away the water after car wash... systematically washing your car using all these with a ironless water your car will stay as new as you had brought from the showroom...

One important factor that you have to consider is the following. I had an X3 G01 on which I had ceramic coating done. Your argument holds really valid for the ceramic coating. Its useless and does nothing but add temporary shine to it. However, during covid I ended up killing the battery and the starter motor fused as a consequence. I had to leave the X3 in the showroom for 1 month during which time bats made a mess of the whole car. The ceramic coating was of no use as the bat poop burned through the "coating". The same cannot be said of PPF. My next car was a GLE (The same as the one you show here, V167) and I skipped the ceramic nonsense and went straight for the PPF except this is not the sasta one but a proper 200um (I took a mitutoyo vernier to measure and am an engineer) film from a well known car detailer (I had many of my cars detailed at this workshop). You have to consider the following.
1. Doing a ppf for 1.4L on a 15L car makes no sense. The paint will be cheaper to reapply and the resale value is not going to be impacted as much in case of a touch up. However for a car like mine (V167 GLE costing 1.1C on road) a 1.4L film is not even 1.5% of the car value. However in scenarios like the above where the service dealer does not take care of the car, the paint is not going to suffer as much
2. PPF applied cars (I am talking of exotic ones) with warranty fetch a higher resale as compared to non applied ones. You look at the percentages here.
3. Unlike other cars, touch ups are very expensive on these "exotic" cars (Merc, BMWs, Porsche's etc). Their paints have to be imported, matched for wear and applied in a very professional manner. I would not care as much for my civic as much as it is for my benz. So where and when you apply is totally dependant on the value of the car you are trying to buy. Your point makes perfect sense for a car < 40L however, there are other benefits for the ppf on higher priced cars.
And BTW, the ceramic coating is total BS. stay away from it. I only can think of rainx on my windscreen when I am thinking of ceramic - works great the first time but after 4 exposures to rain, the coating disappears.

Actual value of ppf sheet in wholesale of a whole car is between 15k and 20k, u paid 1 lakh labour for application of sheet 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Some panels and sensors have to be disconnected and this has to be done by a proper trained person (If you ever know about an exotic car you will know how many sensors they have). One sensor wrongly connected and you have to spend lakhs to fix it. Do you even have a car that costs as much? If so then you will know what I am talking about. For me its not about saving money, its about saving my time which is much more valuable. Do you think I dont know about cars or the actual film cost? If I can afford to buy a car at 1Cr+, cant I afford a proper workmanship for 1L? 😂

After seeing your video, I want to share my experience. I purchased a VW TIGUAN last year only. Since then, I have been planning to go for PPF but haven't done so yet. I agree with you that VW paint quality is top notch, and it has a warranty up to 7 years or so. A few weeks ago, I was driving on the highway when a pebble hit my car`s front bumper and made a small mark on it, and the white paint of my car just peeled off from that area. If I had done the PPF, I wouldn't have to worry, but now there`s a small mark on my car for life. And for just a small paint peel-off situation, I won't be going for a repaint. Hence, I believe that PPF, from a genuine shop, is necessary to protect cars from minor scratches and pebble hits. thanks.

PPF is for car which cost above 40 50 laksh! where a part/pannel repainting cist is above 30K 40K! PP is to protect the luxury paint! its for rich class people who have servents to clean and maintain the ppF, and very experienced driver to drive their cars! PPF do not protect your paint from accident or heavy scrtaches! it protects from sunlights, swell marks, minor marks that comes from using dirty or unsuitable clothes! PPF is not for cars below 30 40Lakhs!

We apply screen guards on Gorilla 5/victus glass of our mobile also. For our mobile which doesnt even cost 1L we are so concerned about the scratches and for a car more than 10-15 L, shouldnt we take some safety measures?
We cant avoid 100% scratches in city traffic conditions, but that is the reason we are spending more and more money to protech our vehicles by installing 360 degree cameras, dashcams, ppfs etc. I dont think it is such a big issue.
Another important thing is why the car companies do it in the factory itself - because it inflates the price by 1L flat. Its customer's choice. They leave it to customers only. Car Manufacturers never say do not install ppf on paint.
Whoever wants to go for PPF, just go without hesitation. However, dont go blindly to any random vendor.. enquire for the best vendor and opt for it.
One last question to the Artist - If any customer buys your painting and wants to frame it (with glass) so that the shine remains for long and becomes easy to clean, would you say no to it?

We live in India, it doesn't matter if you do PPF or ceramic coating, an auto wala or an idiot bike wala can put an scratch on even a standing car, it has happened with me. Imagine you bought a car which costs 10 lakhs and then invested 30,000 on ceramic coating or 60,000 on ppf and any autowala or bikewala comes driving rashly and scraches your car? I dont think any PPF or ceramic will save your car.
May be these things are worth in high end cars above 60 lakhs which people drive occasionally in empty roads. But using PPF and ceramic coating on any car which is driven in city traffic which is full of idiots in India is not worth.
I think if you are in India, you should not give a damn about small scratches.

Hi Sudeepta ji..yes you can take extended warranty 4 plus 2 years 1.5 lakh KM but you can take extended warranty in 4th year also if you don’t want right now 🙏
But one thing to keep in mind that you will have to pay less premium if you buy it within 365 days. If you buy in the second year, the premium will be higher and it will continue like that for the next 2 years.

Navneet ji aur Daksh main aapse 50% disagree hoon iss baat pe. Ceramic coating can be a gimmick if one is looking for protection and not shine but PPF is surely helpful if done on the vital parts only. It obv need not to be done on the roof or panels which won't get scratched/hit. It is just like why people put quality covers on their iPhones and Galaxies. Companies won't provide it obviously. We use tempered glasses too on our screens and I am sure you are using it too despite the brand never promoting it because of having Gorilla glass protection on the screens.
PPF on bumpers, side mirrors and door corners is a must and it won't cost a bomb either. It is just that getting PPF on full car is really expensive and somewhat waste of money if your car is not a luxury car who would like to get it done to avoid swirl marks on their paint, that eventually will fetch them more value while reselling.
On bumpers, side mirrors and door corners it does protect minor chip offs, self heal and keep things in top shape. 3M Venture shied is quite abuse worthy as I saw one Jeep compass got fully scratched fender getting repair in which fender was 100% protected after the sheet was pulled off. It was amazing to see because obviously we can get panels repaint but OEM paint is something we all want to protect from chip offs, pebbles and minor brush ups. 1.50 lacs on a car for 50+ lacs is surely justified imho but obvioulsy not for cheaper cars. For cheaper cars we just need for the vital parts.
Edit 1: Sir, Tata & Hyundai have had major issues with their paints imho. Apart from Jeep, Skoda & VW no one provides good paint. Hyundai have peel off issues which is very common, Maruti’s paint become dull in 2-3 years, Tata Mahindra Honda have rusting & minute dust/pollen particle issues on the paint surface. Obviously I am not advocating PPF here but my point here is, brands don’t spend much on the paint & R&D on the paint in India. Also, ppf doesn’t peel off automatically over time and if one wish to remove, they should ask only detailing experts to get it removed.

My comment in the larger context was, iPhone doesn’t provide screen tempered glass as a brand but we do put it, we do use covers too. They surely help. We all know how warranty gets void if Phone body takes a dent in the metal if insurance is not there. Similarly, I have first hand experienced protection from brush ups, pebble hit, door smashing on the corners in my parking, key scratches that it is good for vital parts. Not full car. I am sure, over a period of time, your opinion will change on this.

I totally agree with your video. Ppf and ceremic coating are not necessary. Meri 12 yrs purani Alto k10 vxi black color ko dekh kar aj bhi kahi log puchte hai ki kya ppf karwayi hai, ceremic karwayi hai etc but jabki humne aj tak kuch na kraya. So gadi ki sirf acche se take care karne se aur genuine washing centre se timely washing(every 10 to 15 days) karwana hi kafi hain car ki paint aur shine ko barqarar rkhne k liye. Thanks

I partially disagree with you. I do agree that ceramic coating can sometimes be seen as a scam and may not provide genuine protection. However, when discussing Paint Protection Film (PPF), it's an entirely different situation. PPF quality has significantly improved over the years, offering best-in-class protection against scratches. Premium versions of PPF do not tend to yellow, and if you decide to remove the protection, your car's paint will remain unharmed. Another reason why major companies might not offer PPF protection is due to its high associated costs.
Doesn't make sense to spend 1-2 lakh rupees ppf on a 10-15 lakh rupees car. For mercs and bmw yeah go ahead

I got my 2022 Baleno ceramic coated from detailing Devils within a month of purchase.
The car retained the same shine and a lot of daily scratches don't even happen to the coat. The hydrophic effect was seen almost after a year of application. The yearly maintenance was free and they did detailing and maintenance of the ceramic coat.

If done at a reputed dealer, it isn't a scam. It does protect the car from daily minor scratches and even bird dropping just washes off with a bottle of water.
I have seen real work results of both ceramic and PPF from cheap and expenses detailing shops and I for one will never waste my Money on cheaper products because they simply do not work.
Not every Detailing place is gonna fool their customers into a useless and non effective product.
Also, cars these days come with a very thin layer of top coat due to cost cuttings and regular buffing/compounding will definitely decrease the thickness of the top coat.

Sir one major thought that comes in every normal self earned car owner i.e jinke paas dark color ki car hai toh jitna marzi acche shop se wash karwaye phir bhi dark color pe swirl marks aa hi jate hai which even looks ugly when exposed next to sunlight toh uske liye kya option hai jinko dark color protect krna hai without ppf or coating kyunki 400 ya 500 ki wash se bhi microfiber cloth se swirl marks aate hi hai and everyone knows that kuch time k baad .
They can use WaveX Clay Bar to remove swirl marks & Meguiar’s Polish after every 4-6 months to have no swirl marks on the metal parts at all. Plastic parts se swirl marks nahi jaate.

Ek fact hai please listen carefully... May be the price is very high... But the point that trillion dollar companies why don't do they give it in their top end cars... Did you know Mobile phone companies gave good screens... But still they give you an additional screen guard... Its needed may be the price needs to be reduced reduced but we can't say it's not needed... Paint on canvas n paper is different from cars... Your canvas n papers is in rooms not on the road or not under direct sunlight or rain... Even paintings are glass framed now a days

We live in India, it doesn't matter if you do PPF or ceramic coating, an auto wala or an idiot bike wala can put an scratch on even a standing car, it has happened with me. Imagine you bought a car which costs 10 lakhs and then invested 30,000 on ceramic coating or 60,000 on ppf and any autowala or bikewala comes driving rashly and scraches your car? I dont think any PPF or ceramic will save your car.
May be these things are worth in high end cars above 60 lakhs which people drive occasionally in empty roads. But using PPF and ceramic coating on any car which is driven in city traffic which is full of idiots in India is not worth.
I think if you are in India, you should not give a damn about small scratches.
Screen guards and cases on phones still have breathability. In the past phones would be lamonated and that would cause problems. 50 L car with 1.5L ppf ok . 20L car with 1.5L is nor economic sense. Any small time garage does paint mathching with putty and spray coates. Putting the car in a plastic sheet in the sun is gping to trap a layer of moisture above the paint. When you try to remove the ppf and it melts onto the car in the heat its a mess to remove and scrathes the paint. Also ppf turns yellow on lighter shafes and needs a change after 3 years. Its not a 1 time cost

Bro , i have hyundai verna 2022 model ( phantom black). I prefer NANO-CEREMIC coating for 1 year which costs around 7.5k ( including gst) , which long last upto 8 month's with a proper ( brand new condition ) shinning .

In short scam and complete wastage hai ppf and ceramic...new gaadi mein koi zarurat nahi hai ye sabh ki....if car is old like 5-6 years and shine chahiye ya swirl marks se chutkara toh paint restoration is option
