Good video. Talios is super strong when maxed. For me though there are too many ships I "need" to have. Scopely should diversify game paths so you can decide if you want pvp, grinding or armada game. I don't have the time or the brains to keep up with building all these ships along with having fun!
I am level 57 and my Talios is only 39 million (just grinding it) but we have a max Talios in our alliance and his Talios is a crazy 177 million power...
Totally. I don’t want PVP. I’ve played other games that were ruined by sanctions lists and round the clock hits. I don’t want that, it’s not fun. I may be alone on this but I like mining. I put Grush, warp Scotty and Cadet Scotty in Voyager with Tuvok below decks, and I started mining G5 at level 39. I think that the refinery should be open all the way. If you can manage to mine G5 you should be able to refine it and research those golden bonuses.
Voyager's ability to let Ops 39-45 players range out to play in armadas with the 46+ players is a HUGE bonus for alliances with a few whales and dolphins.
Interesting to see how strategy changes over time. Solo Armadas forced us into a situation where we NEEDED 2 ships of the appropriate level, but now, since the Defiant, Talios and Voyager have been released, we can get by much easier with 1.
I like videos like this. I only built 1 42 uc ship and took to t4 because of defiant and tallios. I already have built pilum took to t4, now working on getting rep up to build kori next. Will eventually take both to t7 before leaving 40s.
Thank you for this content. I keep trying to get you to tell me what to do. Then I realized you have been giving me proper content to make my own decisions this whole time. ❤
So I have defiant @ t8 16.5 mil power, with a 210 warp range. Can do all types of armadas, hunt hosiles( 51's both traders and combat ships), as well as solos, both borg and jems. Find it cheaper and a machine guns with a the right crew. Sisko, miles and Lorca.
The Talios does have that extra large cargo hold which is super sweet for miner attacks. It's also quite quick to level, as I'm almost maxed to LVL 46 not long after its introduction. However, the Bajoran loop is undoubtedly the best in the game so leveling your Defiant will come naturally from engaging with that. Voyager's loop seems to be closed, though I haven't studied it properly, and looks like a lot more work. It's also 6 months or more behind the other two, so will be difficult to advance quickly. These ships may well end up being alternatives for level 42 uncommon G4 ships for some lower level players, but the level 46 rares have fantastic ship abilities which make them very difficult to ignore.
208M Talios...wow. One additional benefit to scaling up these ships: Once you hit tier 4 on the Defiant, Mantis, and/or Talios, you can buy from the Ex-Borg faction store. 400 credits can net you a fair amount of venom or nanoprobes (I'm lagging a bit on the Defiant, so I don't know what it offers), which can save you a lot of grinding time. You don't get that with Voyager, but using the Voyager and hitting those 8472's and Hirogen will help your Voyager research, which benefits all ships. Work on them all, but the Talios is the most versatile of the bunch. Its smaller cousin the Vi'Dar made a great OPC hunter; the Talios takes it to the next level.
I'm much happier with the Talios now that it's at my level lock. Good at Borg grinding and a capable interceptor. Still working on my Defiant. I don't seem to get as much bang for buck out of that ship as I can punch up the Dolos better with my Valdore, max Ent and max Augur (Ops 45). I think the bigger difference there is with being able to fill more slots below deck.
I am at ops 46 and have K'Tinga at t7 Kelvin at t6 and Korinat at t5. Specialty ships i am working on are the defiant and Talios. Grinding for Voyager and Titan A. Both the Kelvin and Korinar are recent additions.
Tier 11 Talios here. It's incredibly versatile - I use it for mantis grind, Borg grind, voyager grind in token space and opc hunting. Warp range is amazing. And... You get wild amounts of faction credits, Indy credits and rep via the refinery. The only downside I see is how can I get parts for my second Talios!!!
Understand the graphs are on base values, but the voyager has a +5k damage boost research specific to it. Would be interested how DPR compares with that maxed.
Correct Kevin. 40s is where you "finish up". late 40s is 100%nt. But you should def be through basically the entire tree (just ops locked on some things) before leaving the 30s.
The Cerritos is a support ship. It along with the Titan A should boost your favorite main power hitter. I just moved up to level 40 after camping at 39 for over a year. But my Augur is maxed out and my Enterprise is almost there. If I need to knock something down, I use two exocomps, the cloaking device, the Cerritos and the Titan A. I use the Enterprise or Augur as appropriate. If my heavy hitter gets blown up then I shelve the mission and come back to it much later. I’m meh on the Talios, frustrated that I can’t do more but mapping with my Voyager, and working on getting the Defiant.
My alliance leadership recommends the Talios over the Defiant. Problem is for an almost free to play player like me it is easier to upgrade the Defiant. The Talios takes Borg research credits which blocks getting Faction Points. Faction points are crucial with FTP. Defiant upgrades take a bit from Bajoran faction research but only slows that down a bit.
So what what the tier per level for faction ships this is based on? Like you say a maxed g3 epic at 34 sets the comparison off, but there's no way to tell in this plot what it tier is expected per ops. Also keep in mind the faction specific research for example which can tip the scales even more.
Ola Rev - do you have any recommendations for higher tier players trying to grind rep? There's the lvl 56 systems in reach faction's high warp 'island' for miners, but is there anything else?
Don't use a level 46 ship, they're useless against those hostiles. I try to use snw pike, Hemmer and 5 with the Dr below decks. With research and that crew I get about 7x stated rep. Use an exo for added bonus.
talios is best overall ship in the game. ultimate opc hunter, punches up insanely high in PVP, and even without buying packs to upgrade, can be taken decently high freely
Of course voyager is exactly what this video said. It's been held hostage by a missle and almost always gets a warp core breach when it Flies into a pebble with shields up. Lol
when you have been playing the game for 4 years (almost). Then you have already obtained all the predecessor of ships. Am OPS 45, have maxout ships, Sally, Mayflower, Gladius, Enterprise, Augur, Intrepid, tier 7 Kelvin and Val'dore. Many special ships have come out from the past 1.5 years. I often get to hear, why did you make so many ships.. you can't see what Scopely releases in the future, in a year's time Scopely will release a new special ship, which will make all existing ones obsolete.. For players who play for a long time, the first question will be, do you still have to invest in it yes or no. The Talios and Defiant yes, I don't know all the others
Speaking of the Cerritos... Why did scopely Nerf its time? It's not nearly as valuable as it was for armada's... Because you can't overlap them as much.
Hey Rev, I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see how that image of the level 55 Talios can be genuine. Mine is level 45, with the vast majority of the interceptor research for my Ops level (56) completed and it's only 39k. From my experience with the game, ships don't jump up in power over 400% in two tiers...
Talios at 83 Million, 100 to buy it, 200 bucks in upgrades, now surpasses Pilem, as a raider, great for madas, cheap repairs and cheap to upgrade. At tier 10, 100 dollar pack shot it 30 million.

The talios is just absurdly valuable

Once you get Janeway her capt ability relies on shield health
In doing PvP I have noticed that a lot of players pick officers poorly so being underpower might be irrelevant.
