i have an art history degree and for that entire segment i was like "damn can y'all put aside the cosmic horror for a minute and get some more archaeologists and historians in there this sounds like a really cool discovery that needs to be studied before anyone starts going mad from the revelation or whatever" lmao

Yo for real when I first saw this series I was honestly surprised that it was centered around mass which just added another level of horror that most don't I mean hey this is one of the only series that talks about things so close to home.
1:07:03 the thing with the rat is actually something that was done by spies during the Cold War, called a "dead drop!" A dead animal would be hollowed out and used to store information for other spies to find, corpses were used so that no one else would bother to touch them or find them suspicious! Its actually very interesting!

In an actual hypnosis session, these details would be things the hypnotized, not the hypnoticist, would describe. It's very unnerving.

I figured it pointed to the idea that they've done this exercise before...loads of times, and that she's described all the details before, so many times that the therapist knows them already.
1:21:20 My theory is that, ever since that therapy session as a child, the masked entity has been with her. Inside her. That's why we see it when her baby disappears. Was the baby a thought form, or did the entity take it as a sacrifice? I'm not sure, but whatever happened, after her murder, Tiffany is gone. The entity is now in control of her body.

Thank you so much for the warning on jumpscares. I have PTSD and myocardial lupus, so jumpscares are literally hazardous to my health. Yet I still love analog horror. I know, I know... I'm not very smart.
I dont have myocardial lupus so im not in the same boat entirely, but i have ptsd and anxiety so jumpscares make me feel like im going to die. Sounds dramatic, and is, but doesnt feel dramatic in the moment. My love for horror never fades though

The way the thoughtform that merc’d Katie was talking was as if he wasn’t quite familiar with how speech works. The slow and careful cadence of someone trying to pronounce things correctly, as if either English or a mouth is unfamiliar to them. Idk, it’s one of those subtle things that adds so much.
I find Edward Kowalski's mutation to be the most horrific. Sure, the other guy being a cannibal is horrific, but being as Crowmudgeon describes as "irresistibly persuasive" is infinity more horrific and dangerous. Loved the video! Great work!
Haven’t seen a comment on this yet, so apologies if anyone’s already pointed this out: I think Tiffany’s age is a discrepancy on the autopsy because she died on May 19th but her birthday was May 20th, so technically she was basically a year older but on paper she hadn’t quite turned 29 before she died.
Something that sticks with me is how did the therapist know about Tiffany's house in such detail? Had he been there? Who remembers that the flowers were pink, that Tiffany's room was on the right side at the end, that she had stickers stuck on her door- specifically from 2 years ago. Tiffany sure wouldn't tell him that the stickers were from 2 years ago, so that implies he asked the parents about the stickers on their child's door. He also knows the details of her room. Personally I think that this therapist has been watching Tiffany for a very, very long time and he's specifically leading her through this because of her abnormal sensitivity towards thoughtforms. He might not want to have let the thing out, but he sure wanted Someone to get a look at it.
You might be on to something there, but tbf he might also have asked about those specific kind of details in preparation for the hypnosis? Considering that he could yell when she was being more quiet than usual and that her being quiet meant she was seeing things again, it does sound like he has been treating her for a while, so he probably went through a planning phase with her and her parents when he first suggested the hypnosis. Of course, depending on where this plot line goes from here, the fact that he seems to know her so well could instead strengthen your interpretation
There are only two reasonable possibilities: 1. He orchestrated her's life to detail in co-op with her parents, so he knows what would the room look like, what presents she will get on which birthday, where she will be manipulated to put them in the room etc. 2. He is time traveler alike, time perceiver, lets say that he has ability to contemplate time in different way than other people (like to swipe it in his mind back and forward, like we swipe ours newsfeed)
From my understanding of these types of hypnosis therapies, you'd gradually work with the person to get them better at a meditative state by asking them things like "what room are you in?" "Are you in your house or somewhere else?" "Describe what you see" etc. It helps people to slowly build that ability to see something mentally, and in the process you learn things about like what they think their house looks like and what's inside. That's at least my understanding, but I could be incorrect

The "imaginary friends" voice actor was using a trick where you talk while breathing inwards deeply. You could hear him stumble over the letter "s", which doesn't sound correct when breathing the opposite direction. You have to breathe out very suddenly to get the "s" right.
For the cassette being in the rat, in the war spies used to put confidential information in rat and bird carcasses and left them in the street for other spies to find. It could be something like that?
Lol no they didn't. They used fake rocks and such. Putting something valuable inside an animal carcass is begging someone to mess with it, dispose of it, or another animal to eat it or drag it away. Then once you extract the dead drop you now got blood and guts and the stench of rot all over you. It makes zero sense when you could use fake rocks or hollowed out trees with fake hatches. I don't know where you conspiracy guys come up with this crap.
I think the break ins were not committed by the workers, rather, they have a connection to the thoughtforms. I am not quite sure how exactly, but the witnesses saying they never thought the culprits could be capable of such an act reminds me a lot of the repressed desire nature of "shadow". It can be a hint, but it also can just be a red herring. Also like- If it really was the workers, how could anyone recognize them anymore? Their faces were so distorted.
Just wanted to point out a few things, the images we see of the miners in Tape 008 are labeled as "Group C" meaning that there could be other groups of miners they have stored away in Unit 13 and are performing experiments on. Also, the miners were excavating inside a mountain to build a facility, so it makes sense that there'd be way more than just the 7 miners we saw in that tape. One last thing, not all the malformations are grotesque. The very first miner we see in Tape 008 is Thomas Rockford, and he has suffered from very minor (haha) malformations compared to the others in that segment. He literally looks like he's just a man who is upset because he just got woken up lol

Likely some online files, talented acting/editing, or just going BOO, but you could also get those by having a kid play a video game, or even a board game. Screaming in delight/disappointment/shock is pretty common, even in Minecraft for younger kids.
I believe the focus on the moon's formation in tape 8 is implying that Mt. Greylock is a piece of Theia(the planet that collided with Earth to form the moon), and the fact the tape states pieces rather than piece makes me believe there could possibly be other mountains or similar landmarks like Mt. Greylock scattered across the Earth. Evidently Theia in this universe has some kind of strange power or essence in it's rocks.
This series made me paranoid. Imagine being a victim of your own thoughts. Not only are you the victim but the thoughts can manifest as the worst thing you ever seen. It's pretty insane. It made me a bit paranoid at night for a day.
I mean, it’s been shown that thought forms or anything related to the… threats against humans have some kind of electrical or EM manipulation. I reckon the hikers came across a thought form more powerful than we could imagine
i don't think the multicultural shrine was literally physically visited by all those people, but rather is a thoughtform manifestation (since one example they give of a thoughtform establishes that it can be a location) of worldwide worship of this entity. it (the masked figure) might represent the other or the unknown. the shadow maybe? and with so much thoughts of fear and actual offerings dedicated to this concept, by so many people over such a long time, it'd be insanely powerful.

I have a theory I find rather interesting. There was a line from the jungian psychology conference that I couldn't get out of my mind. "That humanity will rise and approach god as equals." Now the masked figure, if they are indeed the being that was worshipped in mount greylock, is clearly some kind of god. And Simiodyne making thoughtforms could. Be seen as some form of attempting to approach god by taming the shadows within ourselves. And unless I'm mistaken the masked figure has only attacked Simiodyne personell, those who had seen too much (in the chase of the archeologist), or those covering for simiodyne (in the case of Don Wright). I argue that the Masked figure gave Don Wright the same illness it gave the monsters when it disfigured his face on the news. and Don Wright's face on the image of his body looks very similar to those who died of the disease. The one outlier here is Tiffany Crisaldi who may also have died from the "disease". But supposedly she saw the mayked man in her mind so .aybe she saw too much. But that would have been before it was released so it couldn't do anything at the time. Tl;Dr: My theory is that the masked man isn't as much of an antagonist as we think and they are simply god ounishing humanity for their hubris.
thought of an additional detail, I think this masked god may have overlain the cult footage over the simiodyn representative presentation. They did this as a reminder of what humanity is SUPPOSED to be doing, worshipping them. Maybe Simiodyn is descended from people that worshipped this masked god. But they wanted to take a different path. To become equal with god themselves. So they let out god to meet on "equal" footing, and wrought hell on earth.
I think Tiffany has to be some kind of prophet or have a greater purpose for this cult like John Ward from Faith the unholy trinity, the way they both are tied in from a young age and have their personal ties seemingly shattered feels too obvious.
The “Therapist” from Tape 10 knows about the hidden door in her house/mind - a detail that doesn’t make sense if he’s actually trying to help Tiff. He seems to know in advance what Tiffany will see in her trance-state and - by his reaction - the Tall Man shouldn’t be there. During the last seconds of the trance, the desk starts shaking, but the doctor stays focused on pulling Tiffany back to reality. He appears calm in the face of something clearly supernatural, which means he’s familiar with this kind of thing. My take: the good doctor was using Tiffany’s esper powers to access some alternate dimension, but something goes wrong when the Tall Man shows up. The doctor damages the Tall Man, and in the end, manages to save Tiffany by ending the trance. Maybe Katie was also an esper who was experimented on by the doctor. A Thoughtform, Katie’s “Imaginary Friend” follows her home post-trance and rips her to pieces.

its because a horror setting in the 80s/90s is immediately evocative and scary for millenials, as in most cases our first experiences of being terrified by media would've been something seen on tv when we were children, which would've been produced in the 80s/90s

this is a very well made video but the part at 29:30 when you're like 'lets hear paul's final message :)', which is immediately followed by loud distorted screaming has some a tier comedic timing.
A few notes. 1. Thoughtforms are made by concerted mental effort. A lot of references to holy men were shown. 2. Thoughtforms dont seem to be vulnerable to harm. 3. The facility in video 1, was powering on from an emergency shutdown, and everything in the cameras were was messed up. 4. The tall man's mask is broken. 5. Ghosts were referenced as possible thoughtforms. 6. Tulpas aren't exactly thoughtforms, they are slightly different. 7. Thoughtforms can be seen/heard 8. More than one person can contribute to a single thoughtform. 9. If you are scared, in the forest and think something is in the trees, it is pretty normal to flash brights. So i think mt greylock has access to a shard of theia, and that it contains an amalgamation of the thoughtforms/soul of theia. I believe that the people praying to it, have gifted it their emotional energy making it more powerful. Theia, the planet, may be represented by the tall man, with the broken mask, being broken due to the fracturing of the planet itself. The cameras placed across the country were likely placed to see/hear the presence of existing thoughtforms and monitor them. Likely, graylock and section 13 were the final part of this long process, with alex's video showing their frustration at their prior failures. Alex was likely working to manifest tiffany. Something went wrong after alex manifested her, and section 13 was destroyed. What the endgame of theia, or alex is... idk. Pretty sure the tall man is theia
I didn't add this before in my comment but I wanted to say how fuckin frightening the idea that the last bit of Paul Morelli's sanity was wanting to call Frank, most likely for answers, but the rest of his mind was so far gone that his speech was more of a garbled mess.

Random thought, I believe it was thoughtforms that committed the break-ins. When they say they never thought the culprits would be capable of committing this violence, they could mean that they never thought that thought forms could commit violence. So, the informational video that they sent was based on the natural thought forms, who did not commit violence, but the artificial ones could and did.

i think you missed something really freaky at 35:55. you say the file does not exist, but the computer actually says 'this file *should not* exist'. its not bypassing a delete or anything, that file was never in that computer and it recognizes that.
i love your videos so much please never stop. i love rewatching your videos because of the way you easily and clearly explain every part of the story you are covering.
Just a thought but it could be that Dr. Hayes is also the doctor who was seeing Tiffani when she was a child. I also think Alex may have already been working at Simiodyn before his wife's "death" somehow got suspicious of what was happening and dug deeper. I would not be surprised if he turns up unalived later.
I'm not sure if you're trying to put out videos covering an incomplete part of these series in order to create interest and awareness in us to follow them ourselves... Or not. Anyway, wow what an experience. I have not been so genuinely creeped out watching a series unravel in some time. The guy making the Greylock Tapes knows how to nail everything perfectly, from terrifying imagery and sound design, to convincing dialogue and believability, to complex mystery, to intriguing plot. He also has knowledge of a surprising breadth of subjects throughout history, including even normally trivial tv shows from the 80s, and shows a capability of weaving them together jn ways that are unexpected. The plot is surprisingly mature and relevant for a series like this, deriving a lot from the real world. I have a feeling this guy is many years the senior of other writers currently in the field and, much like Scott Cawthon, can use his cultivated knowledge and technique a lot more thoroughly than other indie artists currently on the scene
I wonder if the masked entity has anything to do with the collective unconscious, the tunnels being visited by every culture at one point of time seems impossible for it to be collaborative, but more like each representative was called there. There is also the therapy session, it's easy to assume it was a cognition, but when the therapist tries to redact it, "He's shaking and cracking"... I think her saying that, calling attention to it cracking is significant, and may actually be why whenever we see it now, it has those cracks because it was physically in her mind and the doctor damaged it. The main question is why was it there to begin with? And why was it manifested strongly enough to not only be harmed by the therapy session, but to genuinely instill panic in the therapist? My guess, Tiffany is some form of esper and is attuned to whatever plane the thought forms come from, and to drive it deeper, the masked entity is a very old and powerful thought form that can tap into the collective unconscious and influence the shadows of others. And it wants Syadyne to keep making unstable hostile thoughtforms for a reason.

It's so weird how everything goes in cycles. All of a sudden everything is zombies/ghosts/alternates... never once heard of a Tulpa or thought form and all of a sudden several horror series and games are using them. Weird how it works.
Oh yeah some I wanna say at 56:39 it’s been confirmed by the creators in a live chat for the channel @emmortalmarcus (not advertising I swear I say it happen), one of the creators said the gloves from home intruders are not the same as tape 10. You can kind of see it in the color too, tape 10’s are black and seemingly new looking while home intruder’s are brown and look worn and aged. The last thing I wanna point out are how the gloves look like cattleman’s gloves, I see farm workers use those often since they’re cheap and hardy.

In the analysis section when you talk about the doctor and Tiffany, I got an ad for the movie "IF" which hasn't been released by the time of the comment. But it legitimately says "imagine that your imaginary friends are real" and some character saying "Hi" before the video continues. Wow. Genius.
This is gonna be largely thoughts on the fly (and on mobile) but I've got some barebones theories that are a lot more wide-reaching than what I saw presented. Big picture, anyway. I think that the "planetary collision happening billions of years ago" is potentially one of the most important events of the series, if not THE most important event, and one that seems (to me) got skipped over a lot in the analysis. I'll list out my reasoning and some potential meanings for each thought - - This planet (while earth is molten) seems to have gas and green/yellowness (filter makes it hard to tell) - "many of the pieces of the unknown planet remain inside the earth to this day" - the majority of this planet forms the moon - Camera zooming in on the moon for an unnessecary amount of time after leaving the house - depending on when the assassination of kennedy happened (especially if it was directly after his election in this universe, since it's implied the election was rigged, and the company likely would have moved forward with him immediately) - he may never have given his speech to begin the space program that would lead to us reaching the moon (long shot, very long shot) (OR THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED EITHER WAY) ---- I believe that with the above info, plus a little research, it's likely that thought forms and most/all phenomena taking place could be a result of the planetsry impact and moon. If we are to think of the rogue planet as a potential source of life (being that it could be green, contain water/nessecary gasses, or already have life on it - it also isn't a gas giant because it is stated to have MADE IMPACT, and have pieces) its very likely that either the events of the episodes take place as a result of life or relics from this planet being unearthed, OR we were all descended from the rogue planet itself, allowing linking of the thought forms and their fascination with the moon, or explaining the unearthly nature of what is going on. The description of the pieces being IN the earth rather than "part of the earth" may or may not be intentional, but its notable that a major point of "stuff going south" is the opening of the cave. A location *in the earth*, rather than on the surface. ADDITIONALLY - Looking into Mt. Greylock, it is easily the highest place in Missouri, and is also located on a fault line, spots where the crust rubs and bumps against itself. Being quite old, the mountain being so tall means it is likely one of the highest points that rose from this collision, and real world records name it the result of a "Thrust Fault" - a fault that pushes rock more gently up and over existing landmass, raising parts that have been dormant underground for a long stretch of time, and burying the surface. I haven't gone to the extent of looking at all the dates and their relation to the proximity of the moon while I sit on the floor here (as seasons change the tilt of the earth) but its possible there's overlap there too. My main thought is that - Happenings and creature(s) (or all life) originated from what is now the moon - Much of what has remained on earth seems to be fascinated by - or in contact with - the moon. Looking at it, zooming in on it, what have you. - the mountain, placed on a fault, uprooted some of the remains of the rogue planet/moon that have been dormant within the crust. Unearthing it though discovering or mining in a cave/cavern system likely released it's contents. - worship of the moon, or a lunar diety, is very common and could tie into the absurd amount of sacrifices to this cave. That being said - it's VERY possible that the cultures that physically never could have visited Massachusetts or dug into the cave were never there. Collective thoughtforms are a thing, and it's possible that with them all worshipping the same thing, their sacrifices and worship went to this entity regardless of their physical location. It's possible that this entity is the tall man, or the "man in the moon" (calling it that because it's cheeky, and if pieces of the moon are what give him a location... Maybe he straight up IS ON THE MOON still. Its also possible that damage to this man, or the masked entity, can come through these psychic powers. Hence why the company employees are mostly the ones attacked by it, and ones that disturbed the "holy grounds" or have looked into ways to harness psychic power. Think about the fact that later on the timeline we see the mask cracked, and that the early interview with hypnosis has the doctor utilize the child to attempt to remove the tall man. She then tells him that he's "cracking". The mask is cracked. The entity gets aggressive, and the tape cuts. Additionally, the philosophy discussed is to build up knowledge over generations to surpass/become equal to god. If the moon/entity is worshipped and gains power through thought, it's essentially god here. Additionally, the moon casts shadows, hence the hostile thoughtforms referred to as shadows. Additionally, in surpassing god, the company and researchers are trying to harness thoughtforms and research these pieces of god or the moon or whatever, drawing hostility out of it. Diseases and corruption elements can also absolutely come from contact with foreign material or malice, hence the fates of the miners and the newscaster who likely is also seen as potentially hostile in working with the company. Essentially, I think there's a potential parallel between the experiments andbthe philosophy of standing level with god, as well as lunar worship and the moon itself being present in the depths of earth where the caves lead. I dont have solid theories, but more is at play than I think would be expected. The cult may not be the company, or it could be the company worshipping until it can surpass. Did the moon landing happen? Is it truly as relevant as I think? Unclear. --- I also think that there is definitely an element of mimicry going on here, from the masked thing using a bunch of voices (likely of victims, acting like it wanted help and then introducing itself as the police), attempting to drive a car, etc. Its also very likely that (and I don't know why it wasn't pointed at more) logos like the news station's are all very similar to the illuminat (pyramid/eye) and are proven to be working in the background to control public perception and all. With this, and the kennedy bit, and more that I won't bother recounting here, I'd say it's a safe bet that it's intentional, and a lot of stuff (at least in recent history) is controlled and in that similar philosophy of slowly but durely gathering knowledge and power to reach god. (Potentially the moon or moon landing? Again, really long shot)
Really surprised this has no likes or replies yet, it's an incredibly thoughtful comment and I appreciate your ideas. The moon landing connection is definitely a stretch, but it would be incredibly interesting and I'm kind of hoping it does end up playing a part in the future... "There's something in/on the moon" is one of my favorite tropes but nothing has ever touched on "some of the moon is in/on the Earth."
@@designersheets I'm glad someone read it! It was really a lot of spitballing, but I do think I may have made a few connections, or at least some concepts. I think the moon landing thing is a huge stretch as well, I just recalled (while writing) that JFK made quite the speech that helped stir up support for NASA and the space race, even after his death. If he was killed shortly after entering office, rather than later on, would that change? I don't think we have a date on his assassination yet, and the vibes I got from the tape were similar to it being almost a "briefing" for a new president rather than something that they would bother waiting on. After all, if you are leading a giant conspiracy and are utilizing the USA, you'd want the president in your pocket constantly, not as an outstanding factor. That is, however, a theory largely based on how I would run a cabal and not evidence-based (though there isn't much DISPROVING it, it's all un-covered ground) -- To me, the location being a mountain (on a fault, pushing up buried rock, also the tallest one in the area, which would be closest to the moon via elevation) after there is explicit mention of the moon remaining in earth seems REALLY telling as to why there would be anything special coming from underground (aside from it being scarier that way) I think that this really works as a pandora's box type deal, and foreign material can ABSOUTELY lead to disease and nonsensical symptoms. In all honesty, my theories don't tie into the Mindforms very well. I think they could/likely are connected, but I mostly focused on the more "hard science" (if you can call it that) and I figure stuff like the mindforms or creatures would be tied to it, but in a more magical way. That thought is where my idea of the imagining power behind a deity of the moon would create such power, since it IS global, likely transcending human history (we like worshipping glowing huge things) ---- Sorry for the giant reply, just kinda thinking through text again. Ultimately, I totally agree, and I hope that something is done to tie it together! I also love media of "stellar object is less dead than it seems" and the realization of "oh shit.. the things up there have been down here... And we stirred them up" would be REALLY interesting. I'm gonna go crazy again and tie into my own nonsense. Maybe the space programs stopped BECAUSE of what was on the moon? People do often find it odd that we never went back ;) Thanks for your reply. I love watching these analysies, but the horror itself is way too scary for me. Just the "to the mountain" section of this video was enough to give me difficulties to sleep. The lore is so interesting tho, it's def worth it for me. Love the video, great job as usual!
I think Mulgren IS the arm going into the house. He was in contact with the archeologist and could have been there at the time. You wouldn't really wear leather gloves like that for construction or mining. Plus visually we identify an arm with a leather glove as Mulgren, it would be visually confusing. Combining that with the last tape about him being willing to do a lot of things to survive? Maybe he broke into someone's house while following the miners. Maybe he killed someone to hide when they went rampaging. Even further maybe he's the one that spoiled their food. We don't know what powers thought forms have but they mostly seem to kill people, maybe? Spoiling food seems very specific, almost like poisoning. Notice the discrepancy if that camera footage with the miners. They mention several times a tall man, but we only ever see ghostly beings until the final one where Mask form shows up. No one there MENTIONS a mask, just a tall dude with a face they can't really see. We also have the footage of the recorded B&E. MAYBE he's killing the archeologist to cover his own tracks and the Mask form came after the fact. Remember the first thing that the intruder says is that they're the Police. Mulgren is ex Police. Why would a Tulpa even need to pretend if it was going to kill him anyway? The majority of camera footage from a person operating it is from Mulgren. Everyone else has been people recording their deaths. The only "active" recorder is Mulgren, and a PI would very much be capable of entering a house. Remember, the final message to him mentions that he's been willing to do some sketchy stuff to stay alive. Maybe one of those is breaking into your informants house, murdering him, and taking all the files mentioning you. Maybe Mask Form IS Mulgrens Shadow and Mulgren is the one killing these people. We never see the Mask Form kill anyone directly and we actually haven't SEEN a Tulpa directly kill someone.
What I wonder is how the bodies raining from the sky in Cheshire are related to this? The archeologist mentions this event and I thought that was what tape 2 portrayed but I’m really not sure. Is it something we’ve yet to be shown?
Most likely but I also think it’s heard from the tape of home intruders, at the window you can hear screams and it sounds like they’re moving somewhat. I think it’s the thought forms trying to intimidate or confuse people to open their houses to investigate. But still, the way Arnold described it and the way home intruders ends feels too… separated, as though they should be different events
@@pasta1549 You’re right! I always thought the screams were people being attacked during the home invasions but they’re way too many for that. Also it does sound like the people screaming are constantly moving, as if falling. But I do think the events are separate too, again Arnold’s description of it makes it seem like a separate event. I am wondering this because out of the various phenomenon the bodies raining from the sky is the hardest to explain. The pregnancy phenomenon could be viewed as mass, unintentional thought form creation and the home invasions could be both the construction workers and thoughtforms but the raining bodies doesn’t really make sense as a consequence of thoughtforms (at least as far as we know.)
This is excellent to watch as a psychology major with a specialization in child development, who has been going to therapy since 3rd grade. I think I enjoy horror because I want to no longer be scared of anything, and the scariest thing to face is your shadow. I live my life in a way that I can be friendly with my shadow and not fear him. Understanding therapy is really important to enjoying this series I think.

The slow and careful cadence of someone trying to pronounce things correctly, as if either English or a mouth is unfamiliar to them. Idk, it’s one of those subtle things that adds so much.

Haven’t seen a comment on this yet, so apologies if anyone’s already pointed this out: I think Tiffany’s age is a discrepancy on the autopsy because she died on May 19th but her birthday was May 20th, so technically she was basically a year older but on paper she hadn’t quite turned 29 before she died.

Something that sticks with me is how did the therapist know about Tiffany's house in such detail? Had he been there? Who remembers that the flowers were pink, that Tiffany's room was on the right side at the end, that she had stickers stuck on her door- specifically from 2 years ago. Tiffany sure wouldn't tell him that the stickers were from 2 years ago, so that implies he asked the parents about the stickers on their child's door. He also knows the details of her room. Personally I think that this therapist has been watching Tiffany for a very, very long time and he's specifically leading her through this because of her abnormal sensitivity towards thoughtforms. He might not want to have let the thing out, but he sure wanted Someone to get a look at it.
You might be on to something there, but tbf he might also have asked about those specific kind of details in preparation for the hypnosis? Considering that he could yell when she was being more quiet than usual and that her being quiet meant she was seeing things again, it does sound like he has been treating her for a while, so he probably went through a planning phase with her and her parents when he first suggested the hypnosis. Of course, depending on where this plot line goes from here, the fact that he seems to know her so well could instead strengthen your interpretation
There are only two reasonable possibilities: 1. He orchestrated her's life to detail in co-op with her parents, so he knows what would the room look like, what presents she will get on which birthday, where she will be manipulated to put them in the room etc. 2. He is time traveler alike, time perceiver, lets say that he has ability to contemplate time in different way than other people (like to swipe it in his mind back and forward, like we swipe ours newsfeed)
From my understanding of these types of hypnosis therapies, you'd gradually work with the person to get them better at a meditative state by asking them things like "what room are you in?" "Are you in your house or somewhere else?" "Describe what you see" etc. It helps people to slowly build that ability to see something mentally, and in the process you learn things about like what they think their house looks like and what's inside. That's at least my understanding, but I could be incorrect

I think it's worth noting that the ritual circle is in the same shape of the news broadcasting channel's logo and possibly shows that they are in on it as well or some other reason.
The "imaginary friends" voice actor was using a trick where you talk while breathing inwards deeply. You could hear him stumble over the letter "s", which doesn't sound correct when breathing the opposite direction. You have to breathe out very suddenly to get the "s" right.
I love doing that trick, the fiddlesticks voice. It's so fun!

I think the break ins were not committed by the workers, rather, they have a connection to the thoughtforms. I am not quite sure how exactly, but the witnesses saying they never thought the culprits could be capable of such an act reminds me a lot of the repressed desire nature of "shadow". It can be a hint, but it also can just be a red herring. Also like- If it really was the workers, how could anyone recognize them anymore? Their faces were so distorted.

Just wanted to point out a few things, the images we see of the miners in Tape 008 are labeled as "Group C" meaning that there could be other groups of miners they have stored away in Unit 13 and are performing experiments on. Also, the miners were excavating inside a mountain to build a facility, so it makes sense that there'd be way more than just the 7 miners we saw in that tape.
One last thing, not all the malformations are grotesque. The very first miner we see in Tape 008 is Thomas Rockford, and he has suffered from very minor (haha) malformations compared to the others in that segment. He literally looks like he's just a man who is upset because he just got woken up lol

Likely some online files, talented acting/editing, or just going BOO, but you could also get those by having a kid play a video game, or even a board game. Screaming in delight/disappointment/shock is pretty common, even in Minecraft for younger kids.
I believe the focus on the moon's formation in tape 8 is implying that Mt. Greylock is a piece of Theia(the planet that collided with Earth to form the moon), and the fact the tape states pieces rather than piece makes me believe there could possibly be other mountains or similar landmarks like Mt. Greylock scattered across the Earth. Evidently Theia in this universe has some kind of strange power or essence in it's rocks.

i don't think the multicultural shrine was literally physically visited by all those people, but rather is a thoughtform manifestation (since one example they give of a thoughtform establishes that it can be a location) of worldwide worship of this entity. it (the masked figure) might represent the other or the unknown. the shadow maybe? and with so much thoughts of fear and actual offerings dedicated to this concept, by so many people over such a long time, it'd be insanely powerful.

I have a theory I find rather interesting. There was a line from the jungian psychology conference that I couldn't get out of my mind. "That humanity will rise and approach god as equals." Now the masked figure, if they are indeed the being that was worshipped in mount greylock, is clearly some kind of god. And Simiodyne making thoughtforms could. Be seen as some form of attempting to approach god by taming the shadows within ourselves. And unless I'm mistaken the masked figure has only attacked Simiodyne personell, those who had seen too much (in the chase of the archeologist), or those covering for simiodyne (in the case of Don Wright). I argue that the Masked figure gave Don Wright the same illness it gave the monsters when it disfigured his face on the news. and Don Wright's face on the image of his body looks very similar to those who died of the disease. The one outlier here is Tiffany Crisaldi who may also have died from the "disease". But supposedly she saw the mayked man in her mind so .aybe she saw too much. But that would have been before it was released so it couldn't do anything at the time. Tl;Dr: My theory is that the masked man isn't as much of an antagonist as we think and they are simply god ounishing humanity for their hubris.
thought of an additional detail, I think this masked god may have overlain the cult footage over the simiodyn representative presentation. They did this as a reminder of what humanity is SUPPOSED to be doing, worshipping them. Maybe Simiodyn is descended from people that worshipped this masked god. But they wanted to take a different path. To become equal with god themselves. So they let out god to meet on "equal" footing, and wrought hell on earth.
I think Tiffany has to be some kind of prophet or have a greater purpose for this cult like John Ward from Faith the unholy trinity, the way they both are tied in from a young age and have their personal ties seemingly shattered feels too obvious.
The “Therapist” from Tape 10 knows about the hidden door in her house/mind - a detail that doesn’t make sense if he’s actually trying to help Tiff. He seems to know in advance what Tiffany will see in her trance-state and - by his reaction - the Tall Man shouldn’t be there. During the last seconds of the trance, the desk starts shaking, but the doctor stays focused on pulling Tiffany back to reality. He appears calm in the face of something clearly supernatural, which means he’s familiar with this kind of thing.
My take: the good doctor was using Tiffany’s esper powers to access some alternate dimension, but something goes wrong when the Tall Man shows up. The doctor damages the Tall Man, and in the end, manages to save Tiffany by ending the trance. Maybe Katie was also an esper who was experimented on by the doctor. A Thoughtform, Katie’s “Imaginary Friend” follows her home post-trance and rips her to pieces.

A few notes.
1. Thoughtforms are made by concerted mental effort. A lot of references to holy men were shown.
2. Thoughtforms dont seem to be vulnerable to harm.
3. The facility in video 1, was powering on from an emergency shutdown, and everything in the cameras were was messed up.
4. The tall man's mask is broken.
5. Ghosts were referenced as possible thoughtforms.
6. Tulpas aren't exactly thoughtforms, they are slightly different.

So i think mt greylock has access to a shard of theia, and that it contains an amalgamation of the thoughtforms/soul of theia. I believe that the people praying to it, have gifted it their emotional energy making it more powerful. Theia, the planet, may be represented by the tall man, with the broken mask, being broken due to the fracturing of the planet itself.
The cameras placed across the country were likely placed to see/hear the presence of existing thoughtforms and monitor them.
Likely, graylock and section 13 were the final part of this long process, with alex's video showing their frustration at their prior failures.
Alex was likely working to manifest tiffany.

When they say they never thought the culprits would be capable of committing this violence, they could mean that they never thought that thought forms could commit violence. So, the informational video that they sent was based on the natural thought forms, who did not commit violence, but the artificial ones could and did.

Just a thought but it could be that Dr. Hayes is also the doctor who was seeing Tiffani when she was a child. I also think Alex may have already been working at Simiodyn before his wife's "death" somehow got suspicious of what was happening and dug deeper. I would not be surprised if he turns up unalived later.
I'm not sure if you're trying to put out videos covering an incomplete part of these series in order to create interest and awareness in us to follow them ourselves... Or not. Anyway, wow what an experience. I have not been so genuinely creeped out watching a series unravel in some time. The guy making the Greylock Tapes knows how to nail everything perfectly, from terrifying imagery and sound design, to convincing dialogue and believability, to complex mystery, to intriguing plot. He also has knowledge of a surprising breadth of subjects throughout history, including even normally trivial tv shows from the 80s, and shows a capability of weaving them together jn ways that are unexpected. The plot is surprisingly mature and relevant for a series like this, deriving a lot from the real world. I have a feeling this guy is many years the senior of other writers currently in the field and, much like Scott Cawthon, can use his cultivated knowledge and technique a lot more thoroughly than other indie artists currently on the scene
As someone who has lived in Mass their whole life this is gonna make the story more interesting yet horrifying.
Also first time to see any horror based in Mass that's not real, really cool to see considering there is so much history here.
I wonder if the masked entity has anything to do with the collective unconscious, the tunnels being visited by every culture at one point of time seems impossible for it to be collaborative, but more like each representative was called there. There is also the therapy session, it's easy to assume it was a cognition, but when the therapist tries to redact it, "He's shaking and cracking"... I think her saying that, calling attention to it cracking is significant, and may actually be why whenever we see it now, it has those cracks because it was physically in her mind and the doctor damaged it. The main question is why was it there to begin with? And why was it manifested strongly enough to not only be harmed by the therapy session, but to genuinely instill panic in the therapist? My guess, Tiffany is some form of esper and is attuned to whatever plane the thought forms come from, and to drive it deeper, the masked entity is a very old and powerful thought form that can tap into the collective unconscious and influence the shadows of others. And it wants Syadyne to keep making unstable hostile thoughtforms for a reason.

You can kind of see it in the color too, tape 10’s are black and seemingly new looking while home intruder’s are brown and look worn and aged. The last thing I wanna point out are how the gloves look like cattleman’s gloves, I see farm workers use those often since they’re cheap and hardy.

Dude. The ad placements were genius. You probably don't control them but wow. In the analysis section when you talk about the doctor and Tiffany, I got an ad for the movie "IF" which hasn't been released by the time of the comment. But it legitimately says "imagine that your imaginary friends are real" and some character saying "Hi" before the video continues. Wow. Genius.
This is gonna be largely thoughts on the fly (and on mobile) but I've got some barebones theories that are a lot more wide-reaching than what I saw presented. Big picture, anyway.
I think that the "planetary collision happening billions of years ago" is potentially one of the most important events of the series, if not THE most important event, and one that seems (to me) got skipped over a lot in the analysis.
I'll list out my reasoning and some potential meanings for each thought -
- This planet (while earth is molten) seems to have gas and green/yellowness (filter makes it hard to tell)
- "many of the pieces of the unknown planet remain inside the earth to this day"
- the majority of this planet forms the moon
- Camera zooming in on the moon for an unnessecary amount of time after leaving the house
- depending on when the assassination of kennedy happened (especially if it was directly after his election in this universe, since it's implied the election was rigged, and the company likely would have moved forward with him immediately) - he may never have given his speech to begin the space program that would lead to us reaching the moon (long shot, very long shot) (OR THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED EITHER WAY)

I believe that with the above info, plus a little research, it's likely that thought forms and most/all phenomena taking place could be a result of the planetsry impact and moon.
If we are to think of the rogue planet as a potential source of life (being that it could be green, contain water/nessecary gasses, or already have life on it - it also isn't a gas giant because it is stated to have MADE IMPACT, and have pieces) its very likely that either the events of the episodes take place as a result of life or relics from this planet being unearthed, OR we were all descended from the rogue planet itself, allowing linking of the thought forms and their fascination with the moon, or explaining the unearthly nature of what is going on.
The description of the pieces being IN the earth rather than "part of the earth" may or may not be intentional, but its notable that a major point of "stuff going south" is the opening of the cave. A location *in the earth*, rather than on the surface.
ADDITIONALLY - Looking into Mt. Greylock, it is easily the highest place in Missouri, and is also located on a fault line, spots where the crust rubs and bumps against itself. Being quite old, the mountain being so tall means it is likely one of the highest points that rose from this collision, and real world records name it the result of a "Thrust Fault" - a fault that pushes rock more gently up and over existing landmass, raising parts that have been dormant underground for a long stretch of time, and burying the surface.
I haven't gone to the extent of looking at all the dates and their relation to the proximity of the moon while I sit on the floor here (as seasons change the tilt of the earth) but its possible there's overlap there too.
My main thought is that
- Happenings and creature(s) (or all life) originated from what is now the moon
- Much of what has remained on earth seems to be fascinated by - or in contact with - the moon. Looking at it, zooming in on it, what have you.
- the mountain, placed on a fault, uprooted some of the remains of the rogue planet/moon that have been dormant within the crust. Unearthing it though discovering or mining in a cave/cavern system likely released it's contents.
- worship of the moon, or a lunar diety, is very common and could tie into the absurd amount of sacrifices to this cave. That being said - it's VERY possible that the cultures that physically never could have visited Massachusetts or dug into the cave were never there.
Collective thoughtforms are a thing, and it's possible that with them all worshipping the same thing, their sacrifices and worship went to this entity regardless of their physical location.
It's possible that this entity is the tall man, or the "man in the moon" (calling it that because it's cheeky, and if pieces of the moon are what give him a location... Maybe he straight up IS ON THE MOON still.
Its also possible that damage to this man, or the masked entity, can come through these psychic powers. Hence why the company employees are mostly the ones attacked by it, and ones that disturbed the "holy grounds" or have looked into ways to harness psychic power.
Think about the fact that later on the timeline we see the mask cracked, and that the early interview with hypnosis has the doctor utilize the child to attempt to remove the tall man. She then tells him that he's "cracking". The mask is cracked. The entity gets aggressive, and the tape cuts.
Additionally, the philosophy discussed is to build up knowledge over generations to surpass/become equal to god.
If the moon/entity is worshipped and gains power through thought, it's essentially god here. Additionally, the moon casts shadows, hence the hostile thoughtforms referred to as shadows.
Additionally, in surpassing god, the company and researchers are trying to harness thoughtforms and research these pieces of god or the moon or whatever, drawing hostility out of it.
Diseases and corruption elements can also absolutely come from contact with foreign material or malice, hence the fates of the miners and the newscaster who likely is also seen as potentially hostile in working with the company.
Essentially, I think there's a potential parallel between the experiments andbthe philosophy of standing level with god, as well as lunar worship and the moon itself being present in the depths of earth where the caves lead.
I dont have solid theories, but more is at play than I think would be expected. The cult may not be the company, or it could be the company worshipping until it can surpass.

I also think that there is definitely an element of mimicry going on here, from the masked thing using a bunch of voices (likely of victims, acting like it wanted help and then introducing itself as the police), attempting to drive a car, etc.
Its also very likely that (and I don't know why it wasn't pointed at more) logos like the news station's are all very similar to the illuminat (pyramid/eye) and are proven to be working in the background to control public perception and all.
With this, and the kennedy bit, and more that I won't bother recounting here, I'd say it's a safe bet that it's intentional, and a lot of stuff (at least in recent history) is controlled and in that similar philosophy of slowly but durely gathering knowledge and power to reach god. (Potentially the moon or moon landing? Again, really long shot)
Really surprised this has no likes or replies yet, it's an incredibly thoughtful comment and I appreciate your ideas. The moon landing connection is definitely a stretch, but it would be incredibly interesting and I'm kind of hoping it does end up playing a part in the future... "There's something in/on the moon" is one of my favorite tropes but nothing has ever touched on "some of the moon is in/on the Earth."

I think the moon landing thing is a huge stretch as well, I just recalled (while writing) that JFK made quite the speech that helped stir up support for NASA and the space race, even after his death. If he was killed shortly after entering office, rather than later on, would that change? I don't think we have a date on his assassination yet, and the vibes I got from the tape were similar to it being almost a "briefing" for a new president rather than something that they would bother waiting on.
After all, if you are leading a giant conspiracy and are utilizing the USA, you'd want the president in your pocket constantly, not as an outstanding factor.
That is, however, a theory largely based on how I would run a cabal and not evidence-based (though there isn't much DISPROVING it, it's all un-covered ground)

In all honesty, my theories don't tie into the Mindforms very well. I think they could/likely are connected, but I mostly focused on the more "hard science" (if you can call it that) and I figure stuff like the mindforms or creatures would be tied to it, but in a more magical way.
That thought is where my idea of the imagining power behind a deity of the moon would create such power, since it IS global, likely transcending human history (we like worshipping glowing huge things)

I also love media of "stellar object is less dead than it seems" and the realization of "oh shit.. the things up there have been down here... And we stirred them up" would be REALLY interesting.
I'm gonna go crazy again and tie into my own nonsense. Maybe the space programs stopped BECAUSE of what was on the moon? People do often find it odd that we never went back ;)

I love watching these analysies, but the horror itself is way too scary for me. Just the "to the mountain" section of this video was enough to give me difficulties to sleep. The lore is so interesting tho, it's def worth it for me. Love the video, great job as usual!
I think Mulgren IS the arm going into the house. He was in contact with the archeologist and could have been there at the time.
You wouldn't really wear leather gloves like that for construction or mining. Plus visually we identify an arm with a leather glove as Mulgren, it would be visually confusing.
Combining that with the last tape about him being willing to do a lot of things to survive? Maybe he broke into someone's house while following the miners. Maybe he killed someone to hide when they went rampaging.
Even further maybe he's the one that spoiled their food. We don't know what powers thought forms have but they mostly seem to kill people, maybe? Spoiling food seems very specific, almost like poisoning.
Notice the discrepancy if that camera footage with the miners. They mention several times a tall man, but we only ever see ghostly beings until the final one where Mask form shows up. No one there MENTIONS a mask, just a tall dude with a face they can't really see.
We also have the footage of the recorded B&E. MAYBE he's killing the archeologist to cover his own tracks and the Mask form came after the fact. Remember the first thing that the intruder says is that they're the Police. Mulgren is ex Police. Why would a Tulpa even need to pretend if it was going to kill him anyway?
The majority of camera footage from a person operating it is from Mulgren. Everyone else has been people recording their deaths. The only "active" recorder is Mulgren, and a PI would very much be capable of entering a house.
Remember, the final message to him mentions that he's been willing to do some sketchy stuff to stay alive. Maybe one of those is breaking into your informants house, murdering him, and taking all the files mentioning you.
Maybe Mask Form IS Mulgrens Shadow and Mulgren is the one killing these people. We never see the Mask Form kill anyone directly and we actually haven't SEEN a Tulpa directly kill someone.
The loss of Arnold, fully made me start crying, Arnold was desperate for it to get out and his fear and the sudden stop of his screams… hurt
What I wonder is how the bodies raining from the sky in Cheshire are related to this? The archeologist mentions this event and I thought that was what tape 2 portrayed but I’m really not sure. Is it something we’ve yet to be shown?
Most likely but I also think it’s heard from the tape of home intruders, at the window you can hear screams and it sounds like they’re moving somewhat. I think it’s the thought forms trying to intimidate or confuse people to open their houses to investigate. But still, the way Arnold described it and the way home intruders ends feels too… separated, as though they should be different events
@@pasta1549 You’re right! I always thought the screams were people being attacked during the home invasions but they’re way too many for that. Also it does sound like the people screaming are constantly moving, as if falling. But I do think the events are separate too, again Arnold’s description of it makes it seem like a separate event. I am wondering this because out of the various phenomenon the bodies raining from the sky is the hardest to explain. The pregnancy phenomenon could be viewed as mass, unintentional thought form creation and the home invasions could be both the construction workers and thoughtforms but the raining bodies doesn’t really make sense as a consequence of thoughtforms (at least as far as we know.)

This is excellent to watch as a psychology major with a specialization in child development, who has been going to therapy since 3rd grade.
I think I enjoy horror because I want to no longer be scared of anything, and the scariest thing to face is your shadow. I live my life in a way that I can be friendly with my shadow and not fear him. Understanding therapy is really important to enjoying this series I think.
