Hate to inject a bit of realism into such a fun and interesting story and world building but who knows, maybe it'll be something you can work with. Basically the bottled Tangi water would work as long as it was only sold in the state it was bottled in. The safety regulations and standards aren't as strict when sold only in state but as soon as they would try and sell it across state lines they'd be discovered quite fast unless they had ways to counter things like inspections, both random product and source sampling/analysis which they might not even be informed of prior to it happening.
Funnily enough all that is done on purpose to prevent such things from happening, though they probably had more normal things in mind rather than a mind controlling alien parasite!

It would certainly be interesting to chat with the oracle, see if he wishes to make humanity still have hurdles and things to overcome, yet catered enough to keep them feeling good and victorious without breaking them because the challenge is too high, what does he think is the best way of giving people 100% chance of a positive outcome, how should minorities like gay people be treated and what he thinks is the positive outcome for them is in the grand scheme of things. I think questions like that would certainly show how much he understands humans, see if that cage is a cage or as others point out, a home with a good owner.

i think an interesting this about this story is that - typically dystopias are presented as being well meaning but flawed. someone mentioned the giver - a society in which all freedom is taken away but you are given security. but the society in the giver is deeply flawed, hiding knowledge from its society to keep them subservient.
but the oracle over the course of this story _makes no mistakes,_ its predictions are always accurate to the letter, the only mistake it seems to make was "betting on low odds," towards a person that it grew to love. _love_ is its primary want, not control, it loves us and whats to keep us safe.
a dystopia occurs when the control excersized isn't _really_ in our best interest, but Oracle seems so focused on our best interest - and so _flawless_ that it would not make mistakes trying to find it. it would take human want into account. the oracle would not make mistakes even when crafting a utopia, such that a true utopia could be discovered. im very Unscared of Oracle as a fictional character, because the logic of the story is telling me not to be scared of him.

I think the Oracle would still provide us with at least the illusion of freedom. You could still choose your career, your relationships, etc., but any options that could lead to anything bad are dealt with. Perhaps a job listing is taken down by Oracle because it would have led you to a depression to work at such a place. Or your Tinder date suddenly loses her account because she’s actually a sociopath, and you can never contact her again. Since the Oracle can predict the future, it can tell on what days at what times something bad will happen, and adjusts for it. Perhaps you want to go snowboarding? Well looks like you can’t book a trip for a specific day on the mountain online because the button’s not working, but the option for the next day works just fine.

The idea of something living inside you, trying to control you, is beyond a nope to me, and the way that the analog messes with this fear of mine in such a doomed way, it makes you question, if you were in that damn universe, how would you live exactly? what if boiling doesn't really work? does the parasite move to other sources of water, like fruits? how far can it go? *when* will your next water be infected? are you infected? these would be constant questions in your mind if you were in that place, and thus, you don't really have hope, do you?
well, you can have rain water i think, that isn't so bad, and also dont trust any humans because they might poison your water, maybe there is hope afterwards, but only as long as you can plan it out, society will crumb and become a hivermind with the same desire to spread it further, the analog horror messes with something that you can not avoid: the thirst, you would willingly poison yourself with the parasites in order to survive or to please your dry body, one time or another, and that's what makes it so impactant, it's not about inhumane creatures and fending them off anymore, and a cure will not come out so soon, although the parasite appears to be fended off even if for some more time, probably easy to cure

I actually just watched the tangi virus AH before this video came out! Glad you covered it, it feels like I’m watching it for the first time with a friend.

This video gave me chills. I've always been afraid of viruses for some reason and the first part was scary. I like how the story shows the amazingly huge postives of technology as well as the negatives. Amazing video, this would honestly make for an interesting movie or show based off both projects. A 3 movie series based off the virus, the stopping of the virus, and then the stopping of the oracle would be such an interesting watch.

That map spooked me because the supposed location of this is... literally within easy driving distance of me right now :') like. I could drive there in like half an hour maybe? So THAT'S... something. I love this, though, it feels so legit.

I for one support Oracle here. Usually I dislike dystopia, but at the very least Oracle is betteer than death by virus

I absolutely love this series' take on the rogue AI trope with Oracle!! Rather than inherently evil, it's profoundly compassionate and empathetic towards its creator and their species. It's like it knows how impending mortality feels, and it can understand how its creators feel... 😢 I love him

I think the most interesting thing about Stevens and oracle is Stevens is the only one who was able to suggest an alternative and therefore changing his date of death. He technically won (Even if he didn't win overall) He would of died to prevent humanity knowing about the tangi virus, reptilians, alternate timeline people and the techno humans. He knew about all of that shit and changed the course of history with oracle.
