2024, While decluttering my room, I stumbled upon this CD. It's a nostalgic piece of music that I listened to countless times. Even now, in 2024, listening to it brings tears to my eyes. That's how deeply meaningful this song is to me.
Great song! Great artist! When I was a high school student (about 30 years ago...), I bought a compilation album including this song for the first time, and I was fascinated with her beautifully strong voice together with the scale of this song. Later, I bought her albums in Tower Records Shibuya main store, which was the biggest shop in Japan at that time; I remember that, as @value1972 and other Japanese listeners wrote, she was seemingly very strongly recommended by the label and store. Honestly I was helped and encouraged by her songs during the school days (one of most difficult time for me...) Reading a news about other male artist who took the world by storm around the same time, I remembered her and came here today. I'm happy to have a chance to listen to the impressive and memorable song again, and I'd like to thank Warner Denmark for uploading the video! ありがとうございます! Mange tak! Tusen takk! I hope to watch not only this but also accoustic and live versions. I wish she could have some live performance for her long-time fans in Japan!
My Norske girlfriend in 1997 introduced me to Trine. I ask the same question. She's such an awesome artist. Her version of 'Torn" that preceded Natalie Imbigrulia's version, is superior. Imbrigulia had the audacity to refer to Trine as 'some bird from Norway."
The video was shot in Grenada, Spain. It was my first video ever, and I didn't dare to look straight into the camera for too long, I remember feeling it was awkward. Those were the days... long before social media where people can't seem to get enough of themselves...😂
Hi, Tony! I released this version in Norway in ‘93. After a few weeks, the Japanese picked it up, and it was released in many territories in Asia as well as in Europe. Times were different in the music business back then. Now it’s world wide - but like the title says: “I just missed the train”. Thanks for your interest🙏🏼😊🎶
@@TrineReinOfficial Wow, thank you for this personal reply. This song is quite special for me. It bring me back to a very nice time in Japan when I was dating a very special person.

For F's sake - I'd promised myself that I'd never listen to this version ever again, but it's comedic value is just too irresistible. Wow, I just saw your comment now. Thanks for your honesty, I guess. To me, this song has defined my life and career as a singer. I also had the pleasure of meeting the songwriters, Danielle Brisbois and Scott Cutler, and they have both been very grateful for this recording as it was a major hit in Europe as well as Japan when it was released in the early 90’ies.
This version is TERRIBLE. Just listen to the original by Danielle Brisebois - that's beautiful, but Trine Rein butchers it. The part at 2.52 ALWAYS make me laugh and stop the song, LOL.

Roll over baby
The time has come
To make a little bit more room
I've hung around you
It's getting tough
I think I'm gonna break down soon
well I remember
Crying in the park
It was getting dark
Suddenly I looked up
You were my sky
So go on
And sleep darlin
Why don't you pretend we were just a dream
It's cool baby
It doesn't matter anyway
Well I'm so sorry
We got to the station a little too late
Such a shame
We just missed the train
We just missed the train
Be quiet angel
Don't make a sound
save it for a rainy day
throurgh the coulds
trying hard to find my way
do you remember drinking all the wine
We were feeling fine
though we couldn't walk a line
We were all right
So go on
And sleep darlin
Why don't you pretend we were just a dream
It's cool baby
It doesn't matter anyway
Well I'm so sorry
We got to the station a little too late

We just missed the train
Oh why let strangers pass us by
Didn't anyone see we were stuck at the light
or we would have made it on time Yeah
