- This install was a little daunting at first, but it's really quite simple - just make sure you have a few friends ready to help. I definitely prefer the Majic Stairs, but these are a pretty awesome alternative if you've got a tighter attic.

I was looking forward to seeing the garage done this summer but the Helen House garage was a spectacular treat instead. These stairs look perfect for this style of home and another awesome install by the Mike & Mike duo. Although I absolutely love the black Sonic MSS+ Cabinets, I hope the Lista cabinets that may end up in this garage are a different color.

Did some research and not dissing on Majic, but I don't have the attic room for the Majic, at least the one OG used. I ordered eLair today. Was very please to speak to the owner's wife when I called. I had all my measurements and she walked me through the unit to order and options. Just a sincere pleasure to deal with a small business owner that cares. Her husband is a retired aerospace engineer and designed them. Turns out they are made not too far from my house so I am going to go and pick it up.

I missed an install series with Mike and Mike after the Helen VLOG series. It feels like going through withdrawal
The Majic Lift seems to be the game-changer. Once you have that, then normal pull down stairs seem sufficient since most stuff can ride up the Lift instead of being carried.
The Majic Stairs were definitely an improvement over traditional pull down stairs, but I don't see the benefit of this one. That's just me though.
The difference should be obvious - The Magic Lift is a ONE PIECE ladder/stairway that slides down from the attic. Now, imagine where in the attic that ONE single long piece of ladder is going to fit in your attic? The door opening is also very long. Overall, I don't see how the Magic Lift will fit into most people's houses or attics, which will be far too small.
The key here is that the One Touch ladder is segmented and the segments stack on top of each other above the more normal sized attic door opening.
@@gandalfgreyhame3425 I think you are confusing the Majic Lift with the Majic Stairs. The lift was a small platform elevator that should fit in most attics. And once you have that, using manual pull down stairs should be enough since all of the heavier, bulkier stuff can ride the elevator.
The Majic Stairs offered a much wider step which would be great if you have to carry lots of stuff. I completely agree that fitting the Majic Stairs into most attics would be challenging at best.
@@mattbutts7519 The Magic Lift, as configured, looks even more dodgy. There's only TWO cables holding the lift as it goes up and down, which makes it the perfect swing set. Anything you set on the lift would have to be perfectly centered so as to not tilt the floor and set it off swinging back and forth. Yes, construction site lifts usually only have two cables, and construction workers (like the guys who designed this thing) would have zero problems with such an unstable floor, but I'm looking for an attic access that my 5'1" partner can feel safe going up and down without having to do a balancing act while the thing is moving.
Ideally, they would make this thing with four cables, which would give it a lot more stability.

It seems like without the majic lift, this would be pretty hard to install. Not only talking about mike riding it up, but also sending tools back and forth to the guy in the attic. These look the be a good quality, and I like the rubber feet and the lack of railing.

There is. It has a gravity retract button on the remote.
Are those vyper fans? If so did you rewire it? Id love to wall mount mine but how the hell you supposed to turn the damn thing on/off without getting a ladder out all the time
Put the recepticals on their own switch.
That fine for on/off functions but the fan has a variable speed switch that id want to utilize

It takes like a full minute to lower and raise.
I suppose that can be changed if it bothered one enough.
