Personally I don't think Silver and Blaze will appear in the fourth movie. And the only reason why Knuckles appears in Sonic 2 is because of his connection with Eggman and how he ends up betraying him. Apart from that, adding Silver would be repeating the same thing as in the past movies of having a character who starts as an enemy and ends as an ally (knuckles and shadow)
I doubt we will see Silver and Blaze first of all Blaze isn't from the future but from a different universe in these movies they will probably gave her just be from another planet than Sonic and Knuckles maybe she was secretly adopted by a Royal Family or smt. I definitely agree that this movie will probably have time travel when team Sonic raced at the end,Sonic probably accidentally time traveled to the future, and some of that stuff will set up Sonic 5 where we maybe get silver i just hope we don't see Blaze be ftom the future too also i don't think Shadow will be in the movie he'll probably be with team dark in it's own spinoff or come in the latter half of the movie

If they will appear either in this obe or future movies they will probably just have them be friends from the start like with Tails
