I´m watching / listening to this 15 september 2022. I was 13 y/o when this was broadcast ....so 58 years ago.....lets invent a time machine and go back and relive that time and music.
Now this takes me back a bit to that wonderful Radio 1 era, when Alan Freeman's Pick of the pops ruled the airwaves on late Sunday afternoons. I listened to this every Sunday without fail, and so did my relatives whenever they popped over on a Sunday as well. Thanks for this wonderful nostalgic video, I'm so glad I was there to experience that fabulous time!
Superb! So terrific to hear this again. Takes me back to my youth and the Sunday evening 'Pick of the Pops' shows that Alan Freeman presented so well, and to which we looked forward every week. The music and melodies are still great, nearly 60 years down the line. Thanks for sharing this.
Absolutely wonderful! I really do miss those days; when you could switch the wireless on an hear some cheerful, upbeat music with a tune and words you could actually make out/made sense!
Fluff was the best, no question. I have several 1960's POTP reel to reel tapes in the loft, I bought as a job lot from an auction about 25 years ago. Not sure on the quality! I have a reel to reel tape deck so I must dig them out and give them a spin.
Could just weep now for the long, lost sixties.
t was 13yrs old when these tunes came along and you could here the words being sung not like today's music (bring back the great times )
