Well done to the entire team on a great honest trailer. I am always so impressed with your creativity, and it was a lot of fun to hear your ideas for the sequels. Thank you
Wouldn't the bank details be for payroll / direct deposit purposes? I've missed Dan in these last two commentaries, but I still dig the "no parents" vibe.
Me: "Aww, no Dan!" Also me: Cracking up envisioning a giant Steven Seagal hiding beneath the Mariana Trench. This is what happens with unsupervised Joe and Spencer.
The wife does get nomed in the books. Also theres a crossover with the author's Loch Ness book where Jonas and the descendant of William Wallace have to go to the bottom of the Antarctic to find a spaceship and ends with them sending one of their souls to merge with the soul of an ancient Martian who's responsible for life on Earth.
The romance was nice for me. More realistic than usual for this kind of movie, and that slightly anime-like thing in which the relationship is there but not made obvious is cool.
Clearly all the Jonas' should be played by actors from The Fast & The Furious series starting with The Rock & Vin Diesel, then Sung Kang, Luke Evans, Michelle Rodriguez etc etc
I read 4 books in the series. Third book had a reality series plot where one guy gets Swallows by a meg, shoots out of the gills alive but still gets eaten by a meg. Also, Jonas' teen daughter acts like a brat.
More international conversations should be like the ones in Tekken. Everyone speaks the language they know. And everyone understands each other because reasons.
"Ahoy, Ahoy! Welcome to honest Trailer Commentary where we choose you." Throws large Pokeball at the camera. Well, I'm just going to close the video there because there's no way it's getting any better than that.
Haven't seen "The Meg," but I wonder if it actually explains what "living fossil" actually means. When it's understood as something which seems to have stopped evolving, it would make sense in trying to typify the shark as something at an evolutionary apex. But, chances are, the movie doesn't bother.
Watching this randomly after the titan submersible safety incident: 'What are they gonna do, send tours down into the trench?' My eye: *twitch* . . . *twitch*
European co-productions are filmed that way, or at least some are. The German actor will speak the German dialogue and the Swede will speak Swedish and after it will be all dubbed to fit.
I don't think I've ever seen Joe be more southern than him casually and earnestly using 'the cornbread was a little lumpy' as an analogy.
Oh no the kids are still on their own...
Kinda sad that Dan isnt there because on charting with Dan he and Roth did a whole countdown to the movie
Spencer’s Jason Statham impression makes me think Statham should do a gritty Popeye reboot.
The roger Moore tangent is why dans supervision is needed
I'd be all in on Jason Statham speaking Mandarin
Spencer's Statham impersonation will never get old. 😂
Id like to watch a two hour video consisting of spencer talking in his jason statham voice
You mean Solomon Lane voice?
"I'm Batwoman" was the laugh of the day :D
catwmn234
I wish it was in the actual Honest Trailer.
That was amazing! Jon totally nailed the How It Should Have Ended cadence of that line. Loved it!
Don't get it
"No, I’m Batwoman!"
Well done to the entire team on a great honest trailer. I am always so impressed with your creativity, and it was a lot of fun to hear your ideas for the sequels. Thank you
Jason Stathom fights a giant Steven Siegal......I'd watch that movie.
That Statham voice is simply amazing
1:05 the whale from Pinocchio terrified me as a kid
One of the best episodes in a while!! I was actually laughing out loud.
"I'll pick that up later!" You guys are hilarious. 🤣
Cena knows how to speak Mandarin already. They should cast him on the next one.
The Batwoman joke was great.
It would be great if you put screen junkies news in podcasts! I love listening to you guys
This series is delightful. Yall are hilarious.
Wouldn't the bank details be for payroll / direct deposit purposes?
I've missed Dan in these last two commentaries, but I still dig the "no parents" vibe.
Rainn Wilson's character is Cecil Tunt
Back in 2000 I bought the 3rd Meg book and read it fully. I really enjoyed it at the time, although I was 12. And yes, I bought it at an airport lol
Is Spencer a Slytherin? Anyone know? Great HT and Commentary as always.
Yes he is. That's a cool shirt, I want one
Yep. And he's making our house proud.
That intro was worth it.
I love Cliff Curtis too. I can see him shaking his head - "I went from Whale Rider...to The Meg."
Spencer's Statham accent goes from pretty spot on to sounding like Jemaine Clement doing a bad Statham impression...lol
"No parents, No rules"
exactly XD
"The Jerky, The Meg and the Rolos" needs to be film LOL!!
“Because the implication” 😂😂😂
I'm here crying about Spencer calling Crazy Rich Asians "Crasins." How did that even slip by without Joe dying?
where did Spencer get his t-shirt??
I'm sad Dan wasn't here for this after watching him and Roth countdown the days to this movie.
Never saw their review but I don’t think they were too high on it from what I’ve heard
Best open to any SJ show ever!
Me: "Aww, no Dan!"
Also me: Cracking up envisioning a giant Steven Seagal hiding beneath the Mariana Trench. This is what happens with unsupervised Joe and Spencer.

"Even in the ocean, there are laws."
Meg/Dredd
Lie to me and tell me you don't want a Judge Dredd and Meg crossover?
spencer's jason statham impression is so funny 😂😂💀
havent even watched yet but i know it's good based on Spencer in the thumbnail.
Spencer doing Jason Statham can only been made better by Spencer doing Statham speaking Chinese
Love the hair game
Speaking of Alan, are those still hidden in the trailers?
No. The one for Infinity War ended that. Because in that trailer, he turned to ash.
Rocky IV next week, in time for Creed II.
ROFL that pokeball bit was genius! Spence is now my new favorite. Sorry Dan.
Holy shit that Dwight 😂 😂 😂
Clearly all the Jonas' should be played by actors from The Fast & The Furious series starting with The Rock & Vin Diesel, then Sung Kang, Luke Evans, Michelle Rodriguez etc etc

Was that Sheriff Longmire that Stathum was threatening to hit in "International Waters?"
Joe showing love to Forbidden Kingdom thank you that movie is one of my guilty pleasures i love it
Master Plan:
Step 1. Capture giant shark
Step 2....Profit?
I actually took Ocean Law in Law School! Thanx for the joke
More international conversations should be like the ones in Tekken. Everyone speaks the language they know. And everyone understands each other because reasons.
Megcoin for the win! Joe always has great ideas!
"A Meg/Jack Reacher crossover! Ooo, I'd watch that!"
But how is Tom Cruise gonna run from the shark?
For the sequel they should get Richard Dreyfuss to reprise his role as Matt Hooper from Jaws.
"This was NO boating accident!"
"Ahoy, Ahoy! Welcome to honest Trailer Commentary where we choose you." Throws large Pokeball at the camera. Well, I'm just going to close the video there because there's no way it's getting any better than that.
lol love spencer's statham impression
And of course Lon Harris know about maritime law...lolol
it was such a Lon moment to point out a serious issue within obviously not very serious movie :)
I wanna watch The Hum.
Actually Wilson's character wanted to kill the shark quietly so he wouldn't get sued for damages cause his people let it out of the Trench.
BEST INTRO EVER😅😅😂😂
There should have been a scene of Statham and the duolingo owl.
#MEGCOIN
We need more of Spencer's impression of Jason Stathom.
You guys have the thing necessary to make a really fantastic movie for movie people. You should do that immediately.
Thanks Spencer. I always wanted to feel like a Pokemon.
Do you want to be captured, stuffed into a ball and released by your owner only to fight other similar slaves?
The French film term for a movie that is so bad its good is “Nanar”. Might help in the next conversation you have about good good-bad bad movies.
Did anyone else know The Meg was based on a book? Because that took me by surprise.
Haven't seen "The Meg," but I wonder if it actually explains what "living fossil" actually means. When it's understood as something which seems to have stopped evolving, it would make sense in trying to typify the shark as something at an evolutionary apex. But, chances are, the movie doesn't bother.
R.I.P The Man the Legend Stan Lee..
With no debbie downer Dan, you guys are having a lot of fun. He must be watching Venom again.
this is a good one cause you go off into what would be better and your own versions, Max Tangent
rofl when joe glasses the shark
@19:00 For a moment, I thought he said "crazy Rich Evans" instead of "Crazy Rich Asians"
Y'all didn't think of "Great White Schrute"?
I’m down for more crazy Asian cinema to hit the states
Petition to make Joe and Spencer produce their own series of crazy crossover B movies
I wish the Jason Statham we got in The Meg was the Jason Statham we got in Spy.
I like how Spencer addresses what we were all thinking when Dan isn't there for a second week, lol :)
Boat law is called Admiralty.
Watching this randomly after the titan submersible safety incident:
'What are they gonna do, send tours down into the trench?'
My eye: *twitch* . . . *twitch*
I’m just waiting far a Meg and Jurassic Park crossover
Rocky next week?
Rocky IV!
Predicting Rocky IV for next week
just a minor note boys they aren't drinking Heinkins they are drinking changs (a popular Thailand beer where the scene takes place)
You two. Podcast. Now please.
What do you think will be next week's Honest Trailer?
WRONG ANSWERS ONLY!
I'll start: Christopher Robin
Battleship Potyomkin
Every trailer they did haha
Dream A Little Dream
Every Europa Corp Movie ever made
honest trailer for world cup 2018, with spoilers
European co-productions are filmed that way, or at least some are. The German actor will speak the German dialogue and the Swede will speak Swedish and after it will be all dubbed to fit.
There is “boat” law, it’s called maritime law.
MegCoin exists!
Or at least it did.
There really is no need for romance in a shark movie.
The books are wonderful!! so fun!!
**hat tips up**
And it's Tom Cruise.
I came here to see if they explain the international waters better here
When Joe writes his good/bad movie I WILL BE THERE.
His instincts for this are so good.
I see you guys are having a lot of fun poking this...
Let’s do Firefly and Serenity!
Spencer's Jason Statham impression sounds more like Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) from the Mission Impossible movies
TBH, I would love to see a Shark VS T-Rex movie
So then, maybe the Meg should have been included in the Jurassic World movies?
The Shaw-Meg Redemption?
Shawshark Redemption
Hey Spencer... Corey Haim wants his hair back.
Regardless of the implication
