- Xbox as a brand is changing. In the last months the drastic change of direction in the brand and strategy of Xbox I think we'll see their showcases also change in major ways starting in the Xbox Showcase 2024.

I remember not all Xbox games are coming to PC. The most shocking thing about Xbox's ongoing disaster, is that Phil STILL HAS A JOB.

I think it’s going to come down to this… Use Sony’s model (buy your exclusive games a la carte for $70 a piece) or get them for $20 a month on GP. If they can deliver 4 compelling exclusives every year, it pays for itself.
Dont forget, 1st party games are discounted for purchase if you are a gamepass sub.

My next big purchase will either be an upgraded VR headset, Playstation VR 2 Slim, or Alien bundle or Metro bundle, or an all digital Series X that's cheaper then the disc drive, so I can play Hellblade 2 & Stalker 2. Just waiting to see who drops what I'm looking for first. If neither come out, I'll probly just get a Hoizon bundle VR 2 next year.

In all seriousness, I respectfully disagree with your take on Xbox E3 presentations being more "gamer centric" as they've constantly tried to push services rather than games in the years I watched. Can't forget about the "TV TV TV" Xbox One era or them trying to shove Mixer down people's throats through the latter half of the 2010s.

Who cares, we get the games on Game Pass - if a game is on PS does does it effect my gaming experience unless I don't like games and feel like some part of an elite club - it's F'n weird mentality.

Microsoft going to make a ton of money off of Sony players. How is that a loss for Microsoft? Xbox users still getting games on game pass so that's a win. Many who stopped playing cod for years will now come back

I really don't know why people are surprised that MS is making Zenimax multiplat. What's really surprising is that they might make first party titles like Gears potentially multiplat.

7/10 even 6/10 is not poor. Its better to separate your perception and personal narratives from reality. The vampire game was poorly recieved, day before was poorly recieved not statfield. Starfield was divisive factoring in review bombing but it returned a fair amount of money in sales to say the least. I remember it making records in preorder sales, deluxe edition sales etc and THIS is what matters most shirt and long term sales and reviews.

In all honesty doom has been multiplat for forever and Phil did say case by case bases your reaching a lot. 2 questions why have you not made a video bout square enix going multiplat or Sony shutting down studios?

Microsoft is going to want a return on all these big acquisitions.. Making everything gamepass exclusive isnt going to cut it. Will gears and Halo be multiplat? absolutely not. They will make most of these games going forward multiplat while putting them on gamepass. They are not going to leave xbox consoles behind. They will support the xbox fans. Microsoft is looking at it like this, "hey, you wanna spend 75 bucks on this game? here you go...BUTTTTT we have it on gamepass, so jump ship if you want to, everything on gamepass is also 20% off"
My guy, there is no red line. That means gears and halo are on the table. They even tried to put halo on PlayStation a couple years back but they wanted to make ps players to create a microsoft account which sony did not want so it did not go ahead. You’re right on everything else but, gears and halo are on the table.
Whether or not Xbox players move to PlayStation is entirely dependent on the value of game pass.
I think if Microsoft didn’t put cod on gamepass, it’d of been a HUGE mistake. It’d show that they weren’t confident in their own product, they thing they expect to be their bread and butter. And also getting games like call of duty for “free” every single year is a huge value proposition that’ll draw in a large number of users and possibly lock them down on Xbox.
In all honesty Sony is looking bad when Xbox has dropped more first party games on PS5 this year then Sony has.

I’m concerned about the impact to the industry if Xbox does not create a new console. Nintendo is huge but has a different focus. Sony and Xbox always seemed to push the technological limits. Will a viable 3rd console emerge???

@@jamesthomas2410 when Xbox bought Zenimax(Bethesda’s parent company and Doom rights owners) Phil spencer said all of their property (which would include doom eternal’s sequel) would be exclusive to Xbox. So the only people thinking it was multiplat before were uninformed

Perfect time for Xbox to release doom and cod on PlayStation. With no first party games for holiday for Sony, Microsoft should make a ton of money off of PlayStation users
It's clearly good for the consumers that CoD will be now on Gamepass. However, how is this sustainable in the medium to long term? CoD as a standalone game normally sells billions, so they would have to greatly increase the price of Gamepass, or do something else drastic. It seems that Phil Spencer does believe in infinite growth for the gamepass, but I personally don't see a lot of potential new users coming to the gamepass

I think their best way to success right now is light up GP with as many must-have games and also sell them to Nintendo and Sony. If they have enough games to make GP worth it, the people will stay AND they will gain the sales of the other systems. People on Nintendo or Sony paying $70 a pop for 5 games a year when they could make the big first investment and then GP showing over time they are saving money might get some to buy it. The system is ALWAYS going to fall short though as ASIA has basically ignored it its whole life. It’s a tough hill to climb for XBox. They also gotta make sure it doesn’t become Microsoft Gaming as well.
Everyone wants to bring up the things about what Xbox is doing in the comment section like it’s all bad, news Flash companies change and adapt, and when they have the resources to do so forever and use them, people get upset and talk trash. I am all for what Microsoft is doing as long as quality games do eventually come in the long run of massive change. To the people that speculate, I highly doubt they will drop Xbox console at all. Too much revenue would be lost it wouldn’t make sense to do so. The fact that they are putting COD on Game Pass is because they are going to have all that revenue made up from PlayStation players having to purchase. So that is the benefit of owning an Xbox now.
Its easy to laugh right now. They have a real opportunity to be a power house in publishing. Just have to get the stink of some bad moves off them and they'll be fine.
Doom eternal came out in March 2020 the zenimax buy out happened in September 2020 doom trilogy was already most likely committed to come to PC Xbox and PlayStation which when the buy out happened it was most likely part of those games still under contract which Microsoft (Xbox) has to finish kinda like how deathloop was a time exclusive for PlayStation

It won't break the camels back because we can already play/stream playstation games on xbox. I'm pretty sure we're getting a native steam app soon and we'll be able to directly play ALL the playstation games that matter. Personally I'm not a console warrior and all I care about is playing a game.
That said most xbox gamers aren't insecure and are perfectly fine with indiana Jones, starfield and other games like blade to coming to ps5.

As an Xbox Fan, CoD coming to GamePass will drive me even further from them as it will raise the price and add 0 value for me. Playstation 6 is likely my move next console generation
You do know that advertising CoD will bring more people to watch Xbox showcase, no matter which side they sit on. And if the show is a success, then those who only play CoD might join the ecosystem to play other games coming into Gamepass. Sometimes, I wonder if people know what promotional means?

Couldnt the same thing be said about PS ports to PC? All the major first party titles on PC as well and the PC fans have waited this long without buying a PS really no difference
watch the ps state of play and showcase, they dont focus on multiplat announcements for their own first party games, totally different

Doom is a legacy game and would have always been put on PS5. All you ponies care about is Xbox games rather than buying your own which is why Sony will also go full third party.

lets be real..... xbox = pure boring lame american consoles with mostly 98% boring american/western games & have almost absolute ZERO Japanese games at all. xbox NO good E3's which make people fall asleep, no cool consoles designs, no handhelds, no unique system menu interface, boring same out dated non innovative controllers since forever, literally nothing like how the amazing Japanese of Sony & Nintendo of Japan make very fun consoles portable handhelds & Japanese games
