James, you're such an inspiration to others!! My husband started gardening about 4 years ago with only 4 raised beds and hoped to get stuff to grow as we hardly knew anything. Then he found your channel and this year we have an organic food forest going on!! He expanded it big time. Peach trees, apple trees, pear tree, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, fall gold, double fall gold, lots of veggies, herbs and some flowers too! THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge with us all!! Huge thank you from Pennsylvania!🍎🍏🍑🫐🥕🫛☀️🌼 🌸 🌻
It's rather addicting isn't it? or I should say James is. I've been a gardener for years, but this is the first year I could call my garden a food forest. I have learned so much from him.🐕❤❤❤
@@patricemeseck1607what are your favorite varieties of everything you got and why you like em so much?
@@xaviercruz4763 I'm in zone 5b, do I guess my favorites would be things that grown in a northern climate with a very short growing period
James!!! It’s been a very hard winter for me. Battling this eating disorder… and yeah… but I’m out of the hospital after 3 months of hard work and healing… I am in my garden, watching your videos, getting the fresh spring air. You inspire me. You motivate me. Every single day. Thank you for everything you do ❤❤❤
Thank you little king. The world is an exceptional place with you in the food forest ❤
Sorry to hear that Nancy, but me and Tuck are happy you are doing better!
Tuck is a light to a lot of people, especially me. I think we all want to be more like Tuck when we grow up. 😁🐕❤️
Stay strong Nancy…. Much love 💕
Wish you all the healing and happiness friend!
All the best Nancy! You can do anything you put your mind to. You are a powerful being.
Glad you are doing better. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Tuck is so desease resistent even onscreen text stays away from him. Awesome!
Hahah!! Actually real and true! 🤣
So funny, I was going to say that too.
I wish my kids ate veggies like Tuck.
❤🧡💛💚💙💜♥ for the adorably sweet Tuck. Unrelated to the content today, but I wanted to share that I'd bought a somewhat leggy tomato and while I was preparing to plant it the wind blew it over and snapped it in two. I was pretty bummed because Sun Golds are hard to find in my area this year. On a lark, I buried both the root end and the broken top in my bucket, and now both are thriving so well I'll have to move one to another container so they can both have the space they need. Tomatoes are such amazing plants. What can't they do!
I love sun golds. I had to buy seeds and grow them self because I couldn't find any. I ended up paying 11$ for 25 seeds.
Let's Gooo!! Yes they are!
Praise the Lord! Happy for you!
Tuck!❤❤❤
My son used to do this for a large commercial plant nursery exporting to Europe
My father did that with a white and black fig tree in Calabria 40 years ago. For a 14 year old American, it blew my mind.
What a cool way to grow 2 types of tomatoes on the same plant! Great for someone with limited space!
You and Tuck are supper cute and encouraging!
This is simply awesome! It never crossed my mind to graft tomatoes. This is great for people with limited space to grow several varieties. Thank you!!!
YES!!
I wonder what micro dwarf tomato cuttings would do on large tomato roots?
Try grafting tomato onto potato
@@Piccyman1 That would be awesome too!
Wow.. I have never heard of graphing tomato plants!! That is insane! I feel like I have to try this now?? Love it! ❤
James and Tuck, the plant wizards ❤❤🥕🫐🤗
It is contagious seeing your energy and enthusiasm. Thanks for your work!
Find something that exist and make it better! You did that James! Can't say that I have seen this done with tomatoes. Super inspiring!
I admire your hard work while knowing I won't do it! LOL I have started pruning and pinching, much as it hurts. Thanks so much for your inspirational videos.
I first learned to prune from james. Then saw recently we shouldn't prune as much. At least not the determinate. I.cant help it! I HAVE to prune😅 Also have a bunch of volunteers and don't know the difference with determinate and indeterminate🤷🏿♀️🫣🤪
@@HealthyHabitsGrow I was a farmer and it really hurts to prune! LOL I know it works though. A deer got into my pepper patch and ate the plants down to a stub. I could not believe that year's production!
@@smb123211 a coon or something large got into the yard and ate my 1st 3 big zucchini. Found a dead snake nearby. Then the boarer got the plant. This year I've been working at it more and that was the 1st challenge. Then the boarer got to the cucumber. That was growing fast and producing a lot🤣🙄 Challenging year 3 for me. Learned today my 4 squash/zucc/cantalope/tomato volunteers that popped where I planted my sugar baby melon is a BAD combination. Always learning. Always growing. #cantstopWontstop
James you are and will always be an amazing man...I follow you even if if my zone is totally different from yours...just for the fun of watching Tuck The Gardener..and you, hahaha...thank you so much for spending all this time trying to make us better human beings..You Rock Sir
My yellow lab Emmy loves lettuce , apples and she searches for and digs up dandelion root . She's my gardening buddy 🐾🌱
At first I didn't see Tuck ❤ he blended into your mulch! Cool senior summer school project, tomato splicing! 🍅 😉
Thanks for your positive energy and encouragement! Tuck is so cute and sweet! Thanks for sharing him with us!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You live in New Jersey and I'm in Arizona but I still gleam information from you. You are a genius I'm telling you right now
❤️❤️❤️for Tuck, you keep snacking on the yummy food👍🐶
Aw! Tuck is so cute. He's laying there just protecting the whole garden. He's a good boy
oh good gravy James!!! I've gardened and even farmed forever...... This is cool as ....(poop) but very hard core. Love to Tuck!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I always love to see the king ❤❤❤. Love seeing your videos too!
Especially as a single person it's helpful to enjoy different types and reduce waste by having too many and trying to find more people to pass them off to. I started my first garden this year!
Tuck is so cute and awesome 😎 I get a laugh every time I see him.😂😂❤
I NEVER thought about being able to graft tomato plants!
Dude, James, you never fail to reinvigorate my interest in gardening. I love your growing style, and, of course, I love Tuck ❤❤❤ may he snack forever!
Wow! Great information and instructions. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Love little Tuck!
Wow never would’ve thought to graft tomatoes. Great idea. Thanks for sharing. Great to see Tuck doing well ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow that is amazing! Thank you for this video. 💚💚💚's for Tuck!
❤ Tuck is too cute! Beautiful tomatoes!
I had vaguely heard about tomato grafting, but had never heard a good explanation of the benefits. Thanks James, and lots of love for Tuck! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I didn’t know you could graft tomatoes. Thank you for this video.
James my friend...you and Tuck rock the gardening scene! It is so heart warming to see you guys having so much fun with the food forest. I rea
Ly enjoy your videos. Thank you for all the effort involved in bringing this joy into my home. ❤❤❤❤❤
Aww Tuck is good boy 🥰 🐾🐾🐕💓💞💕
It’s a good thing Tuck doesn’t have thumbs! You wouldn’t have anything left! 😂
😂
I never thought tomatoes could be grafted! I knew about trees, because my Dad did that in his orchard - and I remember his joy when a graft was successful. And since I have a very small growing bed, 2’x8’, trellises, this would be an excellent option for future seasons. Thank you for posting, and ❤❤❤ to Tuck.
❤❤❤❤ for Tuck and a new video!
Great content as always, James. Keep up the good work Tuck.
Just to tell you i have really been enjoying this years season of videos since they started up! I am in zone 4 or 5a depending on the souce, and every year your seasons videos will be at least 6 weeks pre planting time for me. I have gardened for 40 years very successly but i still learn something new every video!! I was surprised to see how gray your furbaby has gotten this year. We have 2 morkys, a designer mix of yorkie and maltese who will be 10 this year. They look and act no differently then when they were a year old. Your baby mayhave gray now but you can tell he still loves the garden! Thank you for continuing work and sharing your beautiful garden. You inspire even those who have been busy in a garden for decades to try new things!
Oh my God (who created tomatoes)!!! The tomatoes in the intro AND on the plant are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!
You're a really gifted gardener, I can barely keep my tomatoes alive 😆
Thank you James and Tucker for all of your garden wisdom! 💕✨🌸
I never thought of grafting tomatoes! Thank you! ❤❤❤ Please give Tuck love, pets, and snuggles for me. He always makes my day brighter! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Island of Dr Moreau!
Have to be OLD to get this one !!! Hahaha
Very cool. I have seen that before but I think you've inspired me to try it for next year. Thanks for the tip on the Estamino rootstock. Cheers from Ottawa, Canada🍁
Love for Tuck ❤❤❤❤❤
Way cool
Let's Gooo!!!
Thanks James for this new video. Grafting will be in my future. Love Tuck ❤❤❤
Something that helped me understand this process better was learning about cambium.
Hi James. Your videos blow me away! Thank you so much! I have been following you for a long time, but usually don't comment -- I absolutely HAD to this time!
Real Science there. Happy to see you taking gardening to the next level. Thank you for all you do.
I didn't know you could graft tomatoes. Thanks for sharing. I will be experimenting soon. Hi Tuck 💞
Absolute game changer. Who would have ever thought to graft tomatoes?
YEAH, SCIENCE! Very cool, and thanks to you and Tuck for sharing!
The Little Boss ❤❤❤❤❤knows the importance of an afternoon nap 😊
Love the Tuck❤️❤️❤️
❤❤❤ for Tuck! Gardening is more fun as a 'family' affair!
❤❤❤yaaaaay Tuck, the star of the show❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤ for sweet Tuck and to all.
Always love that intro. Pretty lights ftw.
Tuck had a lovely sleep next to the raised bed, I suppose it was nice and warm there xxx Thankyou for this, I hadn’t thought of grafting fun with tomatoes, bring on spring for us in the south of the world xx
❤ for Tuck!
Wow. This is brilliant! I think I'll try this some year!
Good job James wow ! Beautiful
I love seeing Tuck!
That was so cool. 💕 for Tuck.
Love the pup❤love ❤❤❤
Holy Moses, this is something I never considered! I might have to try it next year just for fun! As always, ❤❤❤❤❤ for Tuck!
I never knew about how to graft. This is so good. ❤❤❤Here's to you and Tuck!
Love the excitement! Great video!
James, you do a great job. I'm not much of a gardener, but a gentleman who had been a farmer in Italy told me about the practice of grafting tomatoes onto eggplant stock for a longer season and hardier plants, both being nightshades. I lack the skill but a mad scientist like you might have fun with that. Your garden is beautiful.
really amazing grafting techniques. Did not think about using tomatoes to do it as well . ♥♥♥♥♥ for the Tuckster!
That's totally badass, bro. Nice job. Thanks for the great idea. I knew following you was a good move 👌🏾
Thankyou James and Tuck for sharing your knowledge! This is so interesting and I may just try that!
James, this is incredible! Fantastic work. 🎉
Love watching your inspiring progress
Thank you so very much for this info James! I will definitely be doing this next spring to get so many more varieties going and make my space work for me win win.
Love your enthusiasm! Hey Tuck❤❤❤
Been with you for years, congrats on over a million subs!
Just gotta love Tuck He has the best diet of any dog ! I grow in 300 containers in Buffalo N.Y. and love fresh food !
Wow! Game changer!!! 😊
Awesome project! Thanks for testing and sharing! ❤
❤ for Tuck and tomatoes
I definitely want to try grafting. With my trees as well. Thanks for sharing 🥰
Hey James. I enjoyed your video and your dog. I had a yorkie mix that reminded me of your little friend.
This was the first video I’ve seen of yours. Years ago there was a guy near Phoenix that I watched that had a “Food Forest.” He had healthy dirt like yours covered in mulch. The whole yard was prepared like that. He grew some tall native plants that protected others. So thanks for your video on grafting.
You are so smart. ❤❤❤
How interesting that this can be done with tomatoes 🤔. Thanks for sharing & showing this. 👍👵🏻👩🌾❣️
You guys are Rock Stars!!! Amazing!
Will definitely be doing this in my garden this weekend.
We love you and Tuck ❤❤❤❤
Excellent video from start to finish. Thank you 🎉
Whoa. Didn't know you could do that to tomatoes. Nice job.
💙💙💙💙💙Who doesn't love Tuck??? Such a sweetie.
I will definitely be trying some tomato grafting. It seems like a good idea for so many reasons. On a different subject, four years ago I planted some asparagus and I knew then it would take time to get a harvest. Two days ago my first proper asparagus came through. I ate it straight out of the ground like you and Tuck❤ did. The flavour was unbelievable. Definitely worth the wait.
as a farmer (retired) i have grown tomatoes on a commercial scale. I still have the farm and keep it maintained but no longer grow small crops. but i do have my own veggie patch, and i know how to graft, but grafting tomatoes has never occurred to me, I'm going to give it a bash just because you showed so much passion and pride in the venture. ever thought of having 3 or 4 chickens for your garden?
This is a good tech thanks for the tip.
This is a great idea! Thanks! And lots of love to Tuck!! ❤
Have to help my microbiome out so growing my own ,not great with salads but growing my own to give my health a fresh start ❤ to tuck and great vids. I pray for good energy to keep growing and getting healthier too.
