I am Mongolian and came across numerous archeological sites whenever I travel to the countryside. Most of the graves were dug up and emptied hundreds of years ago. Since Mongolian empire always consisted of tribes perhaps that is why he wanted to hide his grave.

Yes, this explains everything. Also why Napoleon was defeated, Lincoln was assassinated, Socrates was forced to drink hemlock and Freud was inspired to write about sons fancying Missy, I mean their stepmother.
Not to mention, coming up with new video ideas, researching the material, writing the dialog, and finally, recording and editing everything into a finished video.
Did they leave the 2000 bodies there? I don't think a few soldiers could move them all? And they were also killed. So would it be somewhere with 2000 skeletons?
It would not surprise me if all these stories were true. That is, maybe there was a burial on the steppe, and one in the mountains, and one near the court, but in two of these cases the casket was empty -- or more likely, housed an unfortunate double. This would be sure to generate conflicting stories that would confuse potential grave-robbers.
I have a thought why it's unlocatable. Let's set aside the essentially mythological stuff like the notion that everyone associated with the funerary procession was killed so that no living person remained who knew where he was interred. It may simply be explained by no part of his body now existing, nor having existed for centuries. With in ground interments, depending on soil chemistry, no discernible trace of a person may remain after as little as 30 years. He died almost 800 years ago. He mouldered and there isn't so much as bones or teeth left.
Just a theory, but: Perhaps he was cremated or quickly buried on a convenient hillside by his men, and then the myth of the funeral oddities slowly evolved over time... which further helped to solidify his historical reputation.
I think it's funny people say they never found the body of Jesus so he wasn't real. Meanwhile Genghis Kong who just as popular as Jesus. they never found his body either and it was only a thousand years ago lol. Some people say that Genghis Khan slept with so many people with that 10% of all men have is blood. He has 16 million descendants
They need to use infrared light LIDAR scanning archeology technology. I think they can do satellite archeological imaging that is capable of this type of archeological work. It could reveal things such as ancient dried up Rivers that would lead to clues and old man made building sites
Good luck getting permission from the CCP. Excavations at historical sites arent allowed. Mainly because of how many six foot caucasian mummies are buried throughout the land. In Young Justice, there is no tomb because Genghis Khan was another alias used by the immortal caveman Vandal Savage. The whole part about his tomb's location being obscured was likely a tale told so that nobody would know Savage was immortal and he could adopt another identity.
That means Vandal Savage has canonically raped thousands of women, contributed to the downfall of the Middle East's golden age, and was responsible for the death for 10% of the worlds population at the time
WOw!!! Funny, informative and thought provoking as always!!! I've been fascinated with Ghengis Khan since I was a little girl (a very long time ago) in geography and history lessons; of course most of what we were taught about this famous man has since turned out to be totally wrong, but the fascination remains...what a great ruler he was!!! Thank you so much for all your hard work, I look forward to all your posts knowing that I'll learn something new while chuckling every time...Oh! if only our history lessons had been half as interesting!!! Hugs and appreciation from a fellow Brit 😊😉🤩
It’s surprising that people do have good side of Chingis. Actually his life was very humble and simple. Only role of ruler made him look like a tough one or bad. But as an orphan he devoted to his family and his land, stood against all odds, yet, he just did everything he had to, nothing extraordinary, but later on his reputations grew bigger but he was still temujin. I’m glad that there are more people have true story about him -than fake one. I’m Mongolian but this doesn’t make me to glorify chingis, I just want truth to be ‘untouched’.
Let's be honest. The Great Khan was the original Chad. He outwitted his enemies as a child. He united a group of tribes who hated their kin as much as their enemies. And conquered an empire that relatively exceeded any ever. More importantly, 15% of Asian, and a lesser, but significant percent of European males carry his DNA. Most importantly, when he died he said "FU let me rest in peace". That is a life the most based today can only fantasize.
He also started at least the concept of universal education when he was never given a chance to have an education himself. He insisted on equality for women which was unknown then. His kids all got the education he had wanted himself. We think of him just as a killer, but he was pretty amazing as a leader as well.
@@Mrdinomist alexander???? he got top trained soldiers from his dad, goes to india and die after 20 years! all of his lands i splitting up! Ghengis is diffrent!
If he truly had 2,000 people plus soldiers killed after his funeral, then they should be looking for mass graves. That would point them in the right direction, since that's far too many bodies to move and where they were killed is probably where they were buried. They probably didn't travel too far from his tomb before being killed, so his grave would be within proximity to the mass grave.
If they really put that much effort into that slaughter plan, do you truly think that they wouldn't have moved each body to a different location? The mongols weren't stupid, and they clearly had the man power and resources to do so.
Watching from Zimbabwe and this is my favorite RUclips Channel. I've literally watched every episode. Glad to hear my country being mentioned. Not in the best way but we're used to bad press. 😂😂😂
Finding the grave of one guy would be really difficult but maybe it’s a bit easier to find the mass grave of the 2000 mourners and then just have a look nearby
When your final request is "JUST LEAVE ME ALONE" and people can't even respect that. He must've used one hell of a VPN when picking out his burial site
He could have had a Sky funeral, where the body is cut into pieces and offered to vultures to eat. It's a traditional Mongolian and Tibetan practice dating back thousands of years.
Mongolians never had a practice where they cut body into pieces and feed it to the wild vultures. However Mongolians had the practice of leaving the dead without burying so that wild life can eat it and the remains could dissolve back to the nature. That could be the reason why his tombs hadn't been found yet.
Genghis didn't conquer Burma, his grandson attempted it, but was turned around due to lack of supplies across mountain ranges. Scortch earth tactics worked
There is no tomb. The genius had himself cremated and this is all his greatest achievement: Tricking billions of people across thousands of years of time.
Yes. A quick easy vote. “Raise your hand if you want to to die for the dead guy!” Everyone else kills the ones with their hands up, ditch the uniforms then become goat herders in Hungary or whatever. Since Genghis Khan body buried in unmarked grave without any treasure on it (just like any other graves), even if someone find the grave and dig the body (or what's left of it), nobody know that grave belongs to Genghis Khan or just a random nomad guy buried in the middle of nowhere. People might think Genghis Khan buried with elaborate and decorative "GRAND MAUSOLEUM" like Pyramid or like many Chinese Emperors, you were wrong.
I mean "you were wrong" is a bit of a strong statement. No one knows for sure how he's buried as it hasn't been found yet. That's like saying "everyone thought aliens existed because a ufo was spotted, they were wrong..."
Khan's Tomb has been known for centuries. It is ontop of Burkhan Khaldun, a Mongol sacred mountain in the Khentii Mountain Range. The Burkhan Khaldun region was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2015. So no one is going to go digging. Plus, tribal elders closely guard that area to this day, as per Genghis Khan's commands.
What if he had a general that was dedicated to him dig up his body and possessions with a small contingent of soldiers, relocated the body and possessions far away from there, killed the soldiers then traveled and killed himself? If that is the case it is very unlikely anyone will find Genghis Khan's body. It would be pure luck if they did. Just a thought
@@user-zi8lg5qu1h Because that is what was asked of him by Genghis Khan himself. If the only person that knew is dead then the location also goes with him. Didn't think that one through did you.

BTW Mongols always knew where IKH Chinggis Khaan is buried even the Mongolian Ceremonial Guard have special military ceremonies to respect him.Yes it is in Burkhan Khaldun in Khentii Aimag .His grave is very similar to the Chinese emperor grave sites in Xian.He wanted his to be similar. In Mongolia nobody wants the tomb to be disturbed in any which way.On the burial mound there is 5 tamgas of descendants of the great Khan that also became khans they were also buried with him but at later dates.
A French Archaeological team have certainly made a case for the location of his burial, through extensive circumstantial evidence: That is to say he most likely lay in a large burial mound alongside a handful of other royal burials, but they will never have the permission to excavate. Evidence also suggests that the royal mound is still looked after by mysterious caretakers....
0:59 before you go and explain why this really happened or something I want to take my best guess. People are more likely to be wearing metal crosses at funerals, which take place outside raid or shine. This leads to more situations where people are wearing a conductive metal around a lightning storm. They also sit on metal folding chairs a lot at funerals

I hope they never find him. 1 what can we learn about his grave that we don't know from eyewitnesses accounts? 2 it was his last wish that he remain lost And 3 and he said most efforts come from foreigners, if anyone should look for him it's locals and if they don't want to leave them. Main reason being what can we know that we don't know already?
Imagine you went to that funeral. You cry during the burial. Afterwards, you're mingling with the other mourners, reminiscing about Genghis, sampling the our d'oeuvres, drinking a little wine, and then people start coming round asking whether you'd prefer beheading, poison, or if you'd prefer to kill yourself. It's surely impossible to kill every attendee. Surely before you get down to the last 2 survivors, the temptation to just leave and live another day would only grow.

Its because, there was no need of him to capture India at the time... At the time, there was a invasion going on throughout china and iran, and also, the Land was completely new to Genghis khan and his army. Given the fact that, he already had a pretty big Kingdom to rule, Entering into a New Unknown Land was completely not necessary for him at the time. That is why, He never invaded india

So here's a thought. If all the witnesses were slaughtered, why aren't they looking in places where lots of bodies are buried? Even if it's mass graves? I don't think he was buried. Prolly a funeral pyre and long ass drawn out story. Coz if all the witnesses were killed, how did anyone find out?
Wdym who lived to tell the story?? There are obviously plenty of people who are alive including family members of Genghis Khan. And the soldiers who killed the soldiers will still be alive. You're acting like the entire Mongolian population was wiped out to keep Genghis funeral secret 😂😂
Genghis was too wise to invade a nation with as fragmented a political landscape as India, for although it had a major power in the form of the Sultanate, simply capturing it would compel other regional forces to pounce upon Delhi and take what they could, thereby granting the Mongols more enemies to deal with. So he did attack India in a way but did not ruled it.
@@KarlJayce Uh, I'm gonna need evidence to back that up. As we have multiple accounts of people visiting Alexander The Great's tomb site up to 390 AD. From 323 BC to 390 AD. That's over 600 years of recorded history where people throughout the times record visiting it. There is a theory it was destroyed after Christianity took over to prevent worship of anyone who may be deemed as a god, since the last recorded mention was in 390 AD. There is another theory his tomb was moved to a Catholic Church after Christianity took over, as Paganism generally wasn't tolerated from a monotheistic religion. Unless you just mean that it's probably been destroyed by now, it definitely did exist, the mystery is just finding it, or at least the remains of it.
The grave or of Temujin will never be found, because he most likely was never buried. Temujin died far away from Mongolia, months away from his homeland, even on horseback. Everyone knows that it only takes a couple of days for decomposition to start occurring, and there's no mention of mummification . Given the fact that Temujin wasn't mummified, he would have fully rotted away before burial. No one of the status of Temujin wouldn't have been allowed to simply rot away. The last thing is he wasn't buried in the conventional way. The particular way of burial for his people, clan wise, was a sky burial. Essentially, you're taken to the top of a mountain, or edge of a cliff and the animals are allowed to pick the bones clean. You go back to nature and your spirit roams free.
Lot of effort and reverence for a murderous monster of history, but I suppose this sick world wouldn't be quite right if the greatest of them all was left lost to history. Interesting stuff, thanks for the vid.
History often paints him as the worse of all.But in truth he was just one of the most successful. There have been countless terrible people in history. In his rise to power he was against a lot of other cheifs who were either equally as bad if not worse. In the end many did willingly choose to follow him and only him. If you look at the Mongols before him it was just a bunch of warring tribes that sometimes got along and had loose alliances. One reval chief was his main competition. That chief would have people boiled alive which was seen as a taboo or a violation so he lost favor with most people. Khan was no doubt was cold but by far worse monsters have existed it just happens Khan built a lasting empire that had an effect that is felt to this day. His reverence was so great but it's not because he was a murdrous psychopath if that was the case he would be remembers more like Vlad the impalor. There are two sides to his story. The world outside often chooses to focus on the part stained in blood. His actions shaped the world as a whole.
Where ever Genghis Khan lays, and what ever illuminations may be set alongside him, he has certainly kept his resting place. It would be interesting to know where his wives were buried, but I imagine their sites hold no reflection of where he resides. Side thought: imagine, just for a second, being so so influential in your life - and in your death - that people still talk about you hundreds of years later. I feel that being remembered is the desire of everyone, and he certainly achieved that. In some way, he became immortal. Isn't it something crazy like 1 in 5 people alive today are a distant relative of his? I may be incorrect, but I remember it being a lot.
The genuine appearance and essence of Chingiz Khan and the real History of Tatars and many Turkic peoples: Perhaps you know, that an outstanding historian-scientist Dr. Iskhakov wrote: ‘the true history of the Tatars, of the people in every respect historical, is not written yet’. And this is absolutely true. But first of all it must be said, that in official history there are many falsifications and slanders about the ‘Tatars - wild nomads’ etc., which were written by pro-Chinese, Persian, also both Russian tsars Romanovs and Bolshevik ideologists. However primarily we should know the truth about the meaning of the names ‘Mongol’ and ‘Tatar’ (‘Tartar’) in the medieval Eurasia: According to many medieval sources, the name ‘Mongol’ until the 17th-18th centuries meant belonging to a political community, and was not the ethnic name. While ‘‘the name ‘Tatar’ was ‘the name of the own ethnos (nation) of Chingiz Khan'. Also ‘…Chingiz Khan and his own people did not speak the language, which we now call the ‘Mongolian’…’’ - so wrote an academician-orientalist V.P.Vasiliev (19th century), who spoke Chinese, Manchu and Khalkha-Mongolian languages and translated little-known ancient eastern sources. But these works of Vasiliev have been hidden from us. The conclusions of Vasiliev about Tatars History are confirmed also by other many little known data. So in fact Chingiz Khan had belonged to the medieval Tatars and was the outstanding and progressive leader of the Turkic peoples. About the real faith of Chingiz Khan and his own people: for example, the Turkish traveler and historian Chelebi (17th century) wrote the following from the words of Tatar alims (scientists): ‘It is proved that Chingiz Khan was a Muslim, and the Tatars professed Islam already during the life of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him)’. Also, as Tatar alims told Chelebi, Chingiz Khan had been buried in the Volga region, not far from the city of Astrakhan. Moreover, there is a lot of data about this, hidden from the general public. It is worth saying that according to many little-known data, the ancient and medieval Tatars were a very developed people both in spiritual and material aspects. It was the medieval Tatars who created the first Constitution of Eurasia, which was called in Tatar ‘Great Yasu’ (‘Yasu’ in Tatar means 'Scripture'). But with time many of their descendants became spiritually disabled and forgot invaluable doctrine and covenants of the creators of Great Yasu... So that the Tatars of Chingiz Khan - medieval Tatars - were one of the Turkic nations, whose descendants now live in many of the fraternal Turkic peoples of Eurasia - among Tatars, Kazakhs, Bashkirs, Uighurs, and many others nations. And few people know that the ethnos of medieval Tatars, which stopped the expansion of the Persians and the Chinese to the West of the World in Medieval centuries, is still alive. Despite to the politicians of the tsars Romanovs tsars and Bolsheviks dictators, which had divided and scattered this ethnos to different nations... About everything above mentioned and a lot of the true history of Tatars and other fraternal Turkic peoples, that was hidden from us, had been written, detailed and proved, in the book ‘Forgotten Heritage of Tatars’ - it is one of books by an independent historian Gali Yeniky, translated in Engilsh. His books present a new, or rather, ‘well-forgotten old’ view on the real history of Tatars and many other Turkic peoples. There are a lot of previously little-known historical facts, as well as 16 maps and illustrations in this book. This e-book (in English language) you can easily find in the Internet here: www.kobo.com/ebook/forgotten-heritage-of-tatars-1 or here: payhip.com/b/Xujb On the cover of this book you can see the true appearance of Chingiz Khan. It is his lifetime portrait. In the ancient Tatar historical source ‘About the clan of Chingiz Khan’ its author gave the words of the mother of Chingiz Khan: ‘My son Chingiz looks like this: he has a golden bushy beard, he wears a white fur coat and rides on a white horse’. As we can see, the portrait of an unknown medieval artist in many ways corresponds to the words of the mother of the Hero, which have come down to us in this ancient Tatar epic. Therefore, this portrait, which corresponds to the information of the Tatar source and to data from other sources, we believe, the most reliably transmits the appearance of Chingiz Khan...’. And here's another interesting thing: We can't keep silent that some 'very important' official historians try to retell the content (or rather, the concept) of the works of the independent historian Gali Yenikey (Yenikeev). But they conceal where the information was by them taken from. However it turned out they were unsuccessful and confused - this official historians, apparently, do not dare to show the real history of Tatars, being afraid of their ‘scientific chiefs’. But not only this - see the portrait of Chingiz Khan - see on the 7th minute of the video of the Institute of history of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan (Russia): ruclips.net/video/3WqB71gs5bc/видео.html - also this portrait is shown there both before and after. This portrait is reconstruction, which made by Yenikeev on the basis of a lifetime portrait of Chingiz Khan and of information from the medieval Tatar Dastan (epic) 'About the Origin of Chingiz Khan', as well as from other historical sources. This portrait was used by authors of the video without Yenikeev's permission and without telling where the portrait came from. This portrait is published on the cover of G. R. Yenikeev's book ‘Forgotten heritage of Tatars’: see: payhip.com/b/Xujb For the first time this portrait was published on the cover of the third book by G. R. Yenikeiev ‘In the footsteps of the black legend’ (published in 2009), see its electronic version: payhip.com/b/DNdC This ‘creativity’ of the official historians is called among the decent people as plagiarism - that is, as theft.

@@leekang-s1262 I wondered the same. Seems likely. What else can you do with all these bodies since he allegedly killed all the predators, too.
Nice theory
Nice but false theory

WOw!!! Funny, informative and thought provoking as always!!!
He and Alexander were ones of the biggest badasses of history.
“The Great Khan was the original Chad.” Has to be the best sentence I’ve read in my life, thank you LMAO
Added to that he accomplished all his conquering in 20ish years if I listened to this cool dude correctly.
He also started at least the concept of universal education when he was never given a chance to have an education himself. He insisted on equality for women which was unknown then.
Very good idea
If they really put that much effort into that slaughter plan, do you truly think that they wouldn't have moved each body to a different location?
The mongols weren't stupid, and they clearly had the man power and resources to do so.

Mongolians never had a practice where they cut body into pieces and feed it to the wild vultures. Thats very specific, and hard to believe since you're the only one mentioning this.

Isn't it something crazy like 1 in 5 people alive today are a distant relative of his? I may be incorrect, but I remember it being a lot.
The genuine appearance and essence of Chingiz Khan and the real History of Tatars and many Turkic peoples:
Perhaps you know, that an outstanding historian-scientist Dr.
However primarily we should know the truth about the meaning of the names ‘Mongol’ and ‘Tatar’ (‘Tartar’) in the medieval Eurasia:
According to many medieval sources, the name ‘Mongol’ until the 17th-18th centuries meant belonging to a political community, and was not the ethnic name.
This e-book (in English language) you can easily find in the Internet here: www.kobo.com/ebook/forgotten-heritage-of-tatars-1 or here: payhip.com/b/Xujb
On the cover of this book you can see the true appearance of Chingiz Khan.
And here's another interesting thing:
We can't keep silent that some 'very important' official historians try to retell the content (or rather, the concept) of the works of the independent historian Gali Yenikey (Yenikeev).
R. Yenikeev's book ‘Forgotten heritage of Tatars’: see: payhip.com/b/Xujb
For the first time this portrait was published on the cover of the third book by G. R. Yenikeiev ‘In the footsteps of the black legend’ (published in 2009), see its electronic version: payhip.com/b/DNdC
This ‘creativity’ of the official historians is called among the decent people as plagiarism - that is, as theft.
Pineapple on pizza is the way, I have spoken.
i hope that, even if they do eventually find his body, they’ll leave it be. not because of the curse lol, but because of the cultural implications
They won’t refuse because of the implication
That will depend on the Mongolian authorities, it's their call.
I hope they pee on it

I don’t care what anyone says, a pepperoni and pineapple pizza is absolutely god damn delicious lol.
Usually the only people who make the biggest fuss about it are those who have never tried it and still say it’s the most disgusting thing ever, in which case if you are one of those people, your opinion is as significant as a fart in a hurricane lol.
There is a compound in Pineapple that help with some illnesses. They don't want people cured.
Mongolian soldier: “where is Genghis body”
me with a genghis khan sized belly: *burrrps* “I have no clue man”
Hey I appreciate what you do. These videos are good to just listen
Why the fuck can't people just respect the wishes of the dead and leave his grave alone and keep the mystery alive? I think it's incredibly disrespectful of foreigners to disturb a Mongolian burial tradition. This pisses me off, much more than I ever imagined I'd be, to be honest.
I really don't care either way. But why should we respect the burial site of a tyrant mass murderer

Don’t listen to anything he says, Genghis khan is still alive and will soon return to his rightful position in power
I say we leave him where he is. Nothing good will come of it. Never look for a person who went through that much to make sure he wasn't found after death
If i were a betting man, i'd say a random farmer in history dug up his body while tending land and disposed of it in a very unimpressive way.

I love these videos. They are educational while entertaining. Keep it up!
there is also the fact that the mongolian people revere him so much that even to this day fanatics still hold true to his desire of keeping his resting place hidden that they would even kill to prevent its discovery.
