- Reaction to the Padres getting swept at home by the Rockies. There were tons of wasted opportunities in Monday's loss but a lot of the attention was on Manny Machado. Is there hope that he'll get back to being the Manny Machado we need him to be? Dylan Cease and Michael King pitched the final two games of the series and Mike Shildt had some interesting comments during the series.

Manny got booed really loud on Tuesday after the ground out, I could hear it in the nosebleeds
Play your regulars whether they're facing a left-handed or right-handed pitcher. Get Manny out of the number four spot until he either heals or starts producing. The inconsistency on this pitching staff and the inconsistency with the offense will keep this team at or around 500 throughout the season. Hopefully the Diamondbacks and Giants keep struggling but don't bet on it, they each have starting pitching coming back that SHOULD help them. Either the Phillies or Atlanta are going to pick up a wild card for sure. That leaves the Padres hoping for a week West along with even weaker records in the other divisions. More games like these last three will keep the Padres home watching the playoffs on TV. They are who they are right now, just a hot and cold team unable to put any real type of winning streak together. The same problem they had last year. New Padre manager is just an ass after a loss with the press and I imagine that's gotten real old with them. The press in this city never ask hard-hitting questions as it is so how could he be mad at their simple questions. He just doesn't handle that part of the game very well and maybe that's a clue to one of the reasons why St Louis let him go. Just saying.
The interesting thing is ,the 3rd wild card team will probably play the central division winner( Milwaukee or the cubs)-two very beatable teams,

@@jdcaldwell5088 San Diego is where great players go to be good. Good players go to be average. And average players go to the minors. Players just seem to perform worse after joining the Padres.

This teams going nowhere with Machado on the roster. Doesn't hit. Doesn't hustle. Doesn't bunt or play small ball. And now Doesn't play defense because he's made of glass. He's done as a legit pro at this point. He'll hit a couple of homers here or there but that's it.
