I’ve got the Studio as well and love it. Question for you, do you have just the Studio or are you running it with ADAT to expand the I/O functionality of it? Just asking other users how they’re using their stuff!
I have an expensive interface that already does that. I don't want that, I want this. I'm hybrid not delusional. I have a mixer if I'm desperate to not use the most powerful audio studio device of our time. 😂@@SteelBlueVision
Hi, Thank you for this explanatory video. We can notice that there is no INSERT to add effect pedals for example, however there are 4 AUX slices in the matrix. Should we consider that it is possible to use 4 available audio inputs as AUX effect INSERT and send the other tracks to these 4 tracks? Thank you for your reply. Kind regards
The 8Pre is the perfect ADAT expander for the 16rig, with better mic pres. Unfortunately, it’s not in stock anywhere. Even Arturia’s own web store has been out of stock for months. I hope it’s just component shortages, and not a sign it has been discontinued.
Coincidence. Loved my Arturia and recently got a second 8pre for Dolby atomos. But after watching this video, I can't help but find the other interfaces, such as 16rig and studio, attractive! Thanks for the great video!
I recently got the Audiofuse rev2 small.. and it's super versatile for my laptop...adat in...amazing...having so much i/o... its not the main recording interface ..it;s the coffee table do anything unit..very very cool device...picked it up new for AUD$550 June 2024.. that's a decent price I'd say.
The latencies seem very high compared to RME - x2 the amount. Is this going to make a difference in reality when it comes to playing things in / singing / recording or having things line up correctly in your DAW. Would it be the difference between needing to compensate in your DAW for latency and not as I'd rather not mess around with all that global and track latency delay compensation if I don't have to.
Love the video Bo! Arturia is 🔥🔥🔥. I have AudioFuse 8pre. I love it. Although I wish that Arturia would add some color options in the audiofuse software for 8pre too. You can't program anything so its a waste to try because nothing saves in the software. 😂Great review!!
What worries me a bit is that in this price class the product maintenance seem to be neglected, since for the Studio there haven't been Firmware updates in 4 years? How can that be realistic? Nothing is error free😅
I wonder if there is a cable to feed power to the Audiofuse Studio via a PD Powerbank, USB-C to DC with 15V 3A... Just wanna be able to use it with no wall power!
Another difference is that the classic, studio and 8 pre audiofuses do not use the same AD/DA converters, all 3 use different converters. So what converters does the 16RIG use?
I'm one of those that will miss inserts but it seems all the manufacturers are making me use 2 cables these days. My little hardware rack with the old dessers, preamps, compressor etc was built around the assumption of inserts. For cleaning up audio in real time hardware still beats software.
I had the Audiofuse studio for about a year then sold it and bought a MOTU UltraLite MK5......... the sound of the audiofuse was great, I just found it somewhat difficult to use, it always seemed like a wrestling match, the MOTU sounds every bit as good, if not better, is much easier to use and has an excellent EQ and very effective and usable noise gate, although I'm not too crazy about the compression, so I refrain from using that.
What about the volume knob on the Audiofuse Studio? I hear something about it works weird. Can you tell me if it's true or some information about it?..
If I didn't have my MOTU 828ES, this would be an excellent purchase, it's just not worth me selling my MOTU for the extra 6 analog inputs, as I run 2 ADAT 8200s for a total of 26 analog in. I would have to part with more money for those additional 6 ins.
I already have the 8pre it's an amazing multi XLR mics pre and digital interface but this 16pre without xlr confuse me i have no interrest for something that can't record my mics setup for acoustic drum even if the converter could be better ...
I am torn between this and the focusrite clarrett+ 8pre and octrpre! What would you all suggest for better recording quality with multiple synthesizers?
Great review! Looks versatile and I love the visual feedback from the front interface, however, I found out the drivers don't currently support 5.1 and 7.1 surround in Windows WDM like Focusrite does.
I heard you mention Mac Studio. Are you using this on Sonoma? Is it good? Can you use mic inputs for system audio in Mac in games and chat like Discord and Zoom? Any issues using it for streaming in OBS and such?
Thanks for the review! Do you think this (and a computer and MIDI controller) could replace the Presonus in your studio? Or maybe you will use them both together?
Noob question here, so if you set it up with adat it becomes a 32i 26o interface right? I'm looking into future options for my hardware studio as it progresses and this looks sick as I need the whole setup to be able to replay a project without rewiring everything all the time...
It's nice to see Arturia getting into this market a lot more, but there's not really anything groundbreaking here. The MOTU 16A is roughly the same price and has way better internal mixing and routing options, 8 stereo mixes, 3 aux stereo mixes, as well as decent DSP effects on every input including a decent gate that is really helpful with noisy synths. Also you can control the mix on the MOTU with anything that has a web browser or talks OSC. Me, I'm using a MOTU LP32 coupled with 2 Scarlett 18i20 first gens running in ADAT mode and two old 2408MK3 units via ADAT, for a total of 32 analog inputs and 18 analog outputs, with great preamps and all the aforementioned mixing/routing/DSP capabilities.
MOTU is a solid choice (and given the mixer oriented feature on this arturia the lack of DSP is a bit weird); seems arturia wants to appeal to the hardware synth crowd; with all the I/O without preamps; the standalone mixer that is CC controllable; the midi router with USB host; the analog sync out, the reamp function... all of these features are quite unique in the sound card space. Me I'll probably always go with a compact and powerful MOTU but I kinda get the appeal.
It seems like pretty much the perfect interface for me apart from it doesn't have ultra low thunderbolt / RME latency. I find it pretty disappointing that the Audiofuse studio can only accept 8 ADAT inputs. Bluetooth is very cool but I would like that on the cheaper Rev2. It's disappointing they put worse preamps on the 16 rig. It would be nice if they had one interface with all of the best features. I think the 16 rig is very close to what I want though.
nice features; standalone mixer with assignable controller is a nice touch; too bad it doesn't have any dsp effects (at least eq and comp like on MOTUs). I wish the standard format for sound interfaces was the ultralite / RME UCX format; compact enough to bring along and not take much room in your studio, this is quite bulky (which is expected for so many I/Os but an 8 I/O version would be nice)
Arturia 8Pre and there’s a few others but yes Behringers ada8200 is the only really cheap one i found (used one many yeads ago and they are ok, but i dont want to use their stuff any longer)
I really hope Arturia addressed the encoder problems with this new one. The big volume encoder on my original AudioFuse has not been working properly after a year of use, which is a shame because the build and sound quality are amazing.
You keep claiming "better preamps" on every review video but have you actually used AudioFuse 16Rig's preamps? If so, how? This product literally just got announced.
I love this channel… but I am going to have to unsubscribe if these cringey thumbnails don’t stop. You don’t have to make a face like a teenager for every product! 😂

Really cool lineup by Arturia now! I have the Audiofuse Studio and I’m very happy with it, both for studio and live use

@@gafarbello107 hey, I’m using it as it is without Adat as it’s enough ins and outs for my setup. :) do you use it with adat?
@@JacowateHamaeran yes, I’ve done that in the past and it has worked great for me.
so rad! Doubt I'd ever need anything as powerful as any of these but they're super rad. Arturia is such an awesome company
Powerful? Where is the EQ, compressor, limiter, or any other mixing capability expected of a modern day mixer (with DSP!!)?
Its an audio interface for using a DAW, not a live sound mixer.@@SteelBlueVision

Love how this new one can be a standalone mixer for synth jams. ❤
W0W this has blown my mind ARTURIA does it again! Fantastic review BoBeats.
Thank you!!
Very useful video mate!
thanks buddy!

Yes u can use aux to send audio from whichever track you want to an insert fx and then you have to connect the fx output to an input.
Thank you @@BoBeats

it changed status, to "available soon" or something- it also looks like it will cost 200 more- during refresh there are 2 prices in the button
Great review sub just because of your detail and not fanboy approach.

YES i have 8pre as well its annoying nothing saves & you have to reprogram every time you use it. I wish the software was more useful for the 8pre
Great review! Imagine if the software could control multiple or even better bond them into a single system
Looks cool. I love my Audiofuse Studio 🙂
What worries me a bit is that in this price class the product maintenance seem to be neglected, since for the Studio there haven't been Firmware updates in 4 years? How can that be realistic? Nothing is error free😅
I have audio fuse rev2, I like it especially on cold days as I can use it as a thermophore 😂
I wonder if there is a cable to feed power to the Audiofuse Studio via a PD Powerbank, USB-C to DC with 15V 3A...
Just wanna be able to use it with no wall power!
i don't use SPDIF on my 18i20 anymore, it would be great to have 8 more i/o with lightpipe compared to SPDIF that i don't use.
Oh yes :) Its a «must have» for me 👍👍👍

I use Audiofuse Studio with Focusrite Octopre mk ii for ADAT. What advantages does the 16rig have over this set-up?
I heard you mention Mac Studio. Are you using this on Sonoma? Is it good? Can you use mic inputs for system audio in Mac in games and chat like Discord and Zoom? Any issues using it for streaming in OBS and such?
Anyone tried to hook up 2 AudioFuses through ADAT?
Thanks for the review! Do you think this (and a computer and MIDI controller) could replace the Presonus in your studio? Or maybe you will use them both together?
Looks like you didn't check latency beyond 44.1kHz sample rate. Does it go down much on 48, 96 or 192?
Yes, goes down but not by a massive amount, I don't have the exact numbers written down

$1,649.99 CDN ouch
The price is a little too much, they could have dropped all that standalone mixer stuff and had a better unit at better price point.
Motu 828es looks like a better option especially since it's cheaper and better preamps
I have this, comes with 10 ins, then add 2 ADATs, it's a really nice and clean unit.
