  • We are back with an update on our office worm bin. Our last video was an introduction to the Red Wiggler worms living at the DUG office helping us compost. 🪱
🌱Kristi, DUG’s Compost Coordinator, shows us how to replenish their bedding:
🪱Use shredded newspaper - avoid shiny paper or white-bleached paper
    🪱Add dried shredded leaves
    🪱And water
Replenishing the bedding allows the worm to stay protected from unwanted critters, plus keeps a balance between the food we are feeding to avoid funky odors. 😵‍💫
You can learn more about composting with Red Wiggler worms 🪱 at our FREE two-hour Vermicomposting workshops the first Saturday of every month from 9am-11am, at the Gove Compost Training Facility.

Great demo of a quick bin refresh! We're just starting to collect dry leaves that are starting to fall now (we're in a drought) so that I have shredded leaves all year for my worms. We also make leaf mold, which the worms love ❤️❤️
