Every year I like to go to NYC for my birthday. This year I was so blessed to go again! Thank-you Josh for making my 27th birthday extra special and for surprising the socks off of me!

We took 2 of our girls to NY last fall and absolutely loved it! I want to experience it at Christmas one day!

I miss the love of my life...for my birthday one year we went to pigeon forge Tn and we shopped in the snow and then we got snowed in at our family condo for 7 days...I'll never forget it🥰🥰🥰🥰

My husband and I are at an age where we do not need "stuff", so we give each other a trip to NYC at Christmas time and this year, it seems like we might have been there at the same time, with the misty rain. We always have so much fun and it was so neat, to see the same things through someone elses eyes. Happy Belated Birthday!
My husband just to work at a toll booth. Their schedule are rough and they get stuck to work like 3 shift if people call off. I feel so bad for them. God Bless them. That job is not easy. I mean the pay is sweet but the hours and how they get force to work is not. awww i remember when i husband use to work in there. lol
Such a sweet surprise! He's definitely a keeper. We live in the DFW metroplex so city getaway is not my cup of tea... but I would love a trip to the mountains in New Mexico and spends days in the snow! We used to live closer to the mountains and loved going in the winter, skiing, and riding snowmobiles.

Kuudos to Josh for surprising you. I always said my ulitmate mini get-away would be if my husband surprised me just like Josh did, by arranging childcare, packing a suitcase and arranging accomodation. NY is on my bucket list. Enjoyed your walk around central park and taking us with you.

I know! I always said that too! I had to wait six years for it, but it was so perfect! I didn't even care that he forgot my contact solution. You can always go shopping. But I am definitely going to cherish this memory because it probably won't happen again for a long time!

NYC at Christmas Time is a dream of mine But WITHOUT kids! We live in SWFL and so for a birthday one day trip I’d choose Tampa because Miami is mahhhhhh for me and Orlando is to touristy for me. Merry Christmas

We live just outside Edinburgh - a great city to visit with the castle right in the middle, and it has an Anthropologie store!
For New Year we're heading down to London - been there several times and I never tire of it , such an amazing city with great energy (probably like new York!) and all the art galleries and museums are free!
We're going to New York for the first time ever next April for my husband's 60th birthday - he's always wanted to go to a concert at the Met Opera and we have tickets for Tosca. Hopefully the weather will be a bit better than your trip! Hotel prices are steep - like London - so we've rented a studio apartment in the Lincoln centre. I'm a bit nervous but I'm sure we'll have a great time.

Happy Birthday Megan! So glad you got to enjoy NYC. Looked like such a fun birthday! You made me want to come to NYC for a getaway. My husband and I will have to do that sometime. Would love for you to plan a 2 day itinerary for us! NYC is to you what Charleston SC is to me. I feel this amazing feeling wash over me as soon as I step onto the streets of Charleston. I could tell you felt the exact same way about NYC! My birthday is in January and my husband often takes me to Charleston for a birthday getaway. So hopefully that will be happening soon! Wierdly not peaceful LOL. I don't think there's anything peaceful about NYC AT ALL. But St. Patrick's cathedral & the music was beautiful! And the Christmas tree. All the pretty things. Yes, there are definitely more pretty places on earth than NYC, but for us if we want to do a day trip, the options are limited and we both love the energy of the city.

I would love to go to NYC as well but no one wants to go with me, lol. I have two sons that work for airlines and they won't even take me. Hubs is not interested at all. May have to plan a solo trip. Yes, the rain was fine because it was just spotty here and there. The temperature was perfect though with a coat on. I guess in Denmark, rain is just a way of life!

2) The best stain remover (especially children's clothes ) is equal amounts of Dawn and white vinegar in a spray bottle. Shake it up, spray it on the stain. Wash as usual.
3) One week ago was my birthday and I went on a surprise visit to Galveston's Moody Gardens. (Recommended this Christmas season. The light show was out of this world.)

I LOVE this video❤️ I couldn’t watch it without crying though, as my wonderful sweet husband passed away a few weeks ago. He & I LOVED our weekend getaways together. We enjoyed exploring new places - especially museums, parks & wonderful eateries. Give your husband an extra big hug for being so incredibly thoughtful in surprising you for your birthday- that’s just like something my husband would’ve done.

I find it so interesting how you use the word “yet”.. i live in the US too but find myself confused with how you use it sometimes- I think you use it in cases where others might use the word “still”. Like when you said “I have to get evonnie a bike yet”... ? I just find it interesting that we live in the same country with the same languages but use words differently! Merry Christmas Megan!
I love hearing those differences too! I live in Canada so I always pick up the differences and that one has always stood out to me. So many ways of speaking the same language!

That's funny that you go to NYC on your birthday, I actually go to Lancaster, every year on my birthday. We do some shopping and gotta go to Shady Maple, since your meal is free. Hope you had a good trip and even better holiday season

Josh giggling was the best - he so got you!! What a neat surprise! Let's see - whisked away for my birthday... Chicago is not too far away - that would be fun. We have a state park not too far away that I would enjoy hiking in for my birthday. Also, the arboretum. In any case, my birthday is in the middle of summer so it's hot everywhere and I prefer cooler weather so I would like to get whisked away for my birthday in the spring or fall. I live in northern Michigan, born and raised, but I lived near Detroit for over a decade in my 20s-30s. I haven't been back in some time and I truly love and miss that city. I would gladly be whisked away to Detroit.

My husband surprised me like that a long time ago. We walked into this old antique inn that I always wanted to see. I was enthralled with the furniture and decor and he walked up to the counter to check in!!! I was so confused and told him we didn’t have clothes, etc. He told me he packed and his mom was keeping the baby. The lady behind the counter told me I better keep him. I did!!! 😉❤️
This was so fun to watch, Megan! It was nice to see you in a different mode, relaxing with hubby rather than in mom mode ❤️ I could never live in the big city haha...it’s neat for a visit, but that’s about it 😆

Next time you're in NYC, you need to take a little side trip for clothes shopping in Brooklyn. There are several Orthodox Jewish ladies stores with TONS of modest skirts and dresses! They were all reasonably priced too - I went away with soo many clothes. :)

Such a sweet video! In the 20+ years we've been married, my husband and I have gone back several times to the same room we had on our first night. That's always special, and we love shopping together too. It feels like a sacrifice, and I fight mom-guilt, when we leave our little kids with someone else. (thank God for Grandparents, right!) But it reassures my man that he's still no. 1! So sorry about your friend's baby.💔 Life brings such strange mixtures of sorrow and celebration. Happy birthday and Merry Christmas, Megan!
