I tried Isabelle right after they won best croissant and it wasn’t a favorite TBH. Love the croissant nature from Pierre Herme. Everyone focuses on the pastries and macarons but the croissant is perfection. Do a flan video and you’ve got a new subscriber!
It’s interesting that some of the items weren’t so good because of the time of day. It’s always a gamble going to bakeries in the afternoon, but it seems they do many batches of the croissants per day as that was still such a great croissant. 🥐 I want some yummy pastries now!
great bakery review. You two do a nice job telling us what you taste and how it feels on the mouth. BTW, the flaky top layer on the Pain au choc is the sprayed-on egg wash that gives the vienoiserie such an appealing appearance.

HELL, YES!! i'm so glad you finally tried their croissant - hands down the best in Paris. BTW, on certain days there's a marché right in front of the boulangerie and it makes the whole atmosphere so pretty. Also, right next door is the best cheese shop, Laurent Dubois. Maison d'Isabelle has my heart! 🥐
in my first day in paris. i bought some things from la maison d isabelle then i went to the exact same bench and ate everything i had. such a nostalgia for me

ah finally you got it, the best croissant - i am glad this is the one i would recommend...Je trouve que vous êtes un peu méchants avec le croissant du Pain et des Idées...Certes très cher mais à un niveau un poil au-dessus encore, si c'est possible de comparer...Quand on cherche la qualité c'est un must-try...Sinon pour finir, essayez aussi le croissant de Bruno Solques, dans sa boulagerie très unique : 243 Rue Saint-Jacques, 75005 Paris, bonne dégusse :))

salut ! les flans c'est tout un monde, ça peut être fantastique ou alors gélatineux et très moyen. Il faut un minimum d'onctuosité, beaucoup de vanille, bref j'aimerais bien un crash test des meilleurs flans de Paris !

Yes it's really "cheap" in France, but also the wages are lower in France than in the US, so everything is relative
