Very informative, all the reviews I’ve seen from Pickleball madness seem to be very current and informative.
Thanks for all the information and explanation! Very helpful!!
Good download, thank you. I have one of these paddles but will be ready for a new paddle by next July, so a non-event for me.
Good summary. Joola and Gearbox knew this was coming and had plenty of time to develop replacements. They are supposed to have 18 months to fade them out so them given only 7 months to do so, without dispute from the manufacturers, confirms this is something they all knew was coming.
The current mods will be worn out by the time they are illegal
Thanks for the information!
Great info!
Great video would love to send our new approved paddle for review
Send us an email!
We went through the same thing in men’s softball and I when I was coaching baseball on the bats. The “trampoline” effect is a real thing and in cases of baseball and softball can be very dangerous. In pickleball it can def be an advantage as well.
Wonder if this will even matter for the pros
since the PPA has it's own testing measures regardless of the USAPA testing....
Anything that makes the sport better!
Great, video. Ty
Pro Kennex models have been out for several years with no issues. It simply does not make any sense to apply a brand new standard to them when there was no problem to begin with and they conformed to existing standards when new. They should be grandfathered in.
It is a better measure of rebound. Lab measured for all makers. Protects the game.
Another move the goal post after the paddles are in production....ridicules !
Totally!
So, USAP approved these paddles, then came up with a new testing method causing these paddles to be delisted.
USAP should inform these paddle companies to remove the approved logo after 12/31. Hence, it allows all of the current approved paddles on the market to retire naturally through wear and tear.
No way the ProKennex paddles should be on this list. I own one and have a power paddle as well, the Pro Kennex is NOWHERE CLOSE TO THE POWER LEVEL OF THE MODERN POWER PADDLES and has a very small sweet spot as well.
plus the pro kennex ace is almost 2 yrs old and NOW it is getting banned...THAT is a joke compared to all the other rocket launchers out there now...i was never afraid of a pro kennex
The number of Tournament players vs Rec players is rather small, all things considered.
The number of Tournament players using THESE paddles is even smaller..
That said, Pickleball is like most any other sport, Golf for instance, where even the lowest rated players wants the PRO LEVEL equipment...
Any chance this is a "wink wink" back room deal to generate sales..??
Personally, as a Tournament player, I could care less what paddle my opponents use...
Pro kennex on the list is an absolute joke.....must not have paid their "dues" to the organizations....the other rocket launchers out there should be suspended also because the speeds of the balls are getting out of hand....there are a few more paddles that could be on this list but ultimately the best test would be a MPH standardized/realistic test that caps the speed whether it is at 1 hit or 10,000+ hits, thus eliminating "break-in" periods for paddles that get hotter with more use....a LOT of money at stake here, so the stakes are VERY high
I would like to know if all buyers can join together in a class action lawsuit, so that our money is returned and there are regulations for companies like these that do not act in good faith.
No more Mod 15 cheater paddles!
How was it cheating? All these paddles were USAP approved .
@x0tkotomkoma The first paddle Joola submitted was delisted because usap said it was a different paddle then what was first submitted. Thus, Joola resubmitted the original paddle (mod 15) . However, after the paddle was cut apart by mutiple reviewers it was determined that the inside of the mod was the same as the original delisted paddle.
Plus, just play with it against people that aren't playing with one and ask yourself how it should be legal? The speed and power is a definite unfair advantage.
It was banned in July of next year. So yes, a "cheater paddle."
