I was in a bar the other day, and bitching to the very young bartender about how the Simpsons used to be blah blah blah, when Conan used to write for them. Her response: I don't know who that is, I'm 27. So I feel you there, I remember the '90s too. In fact I have a similar Jackson Fusion Std, that I've owned since 94 IIRC. Beauty guitars.
@@amandahuginkiss6868 idk I think that’s just a being dumb thing and not a “I’m young” thing. 27 makes them a millennial, and 27 ain’t that young. Plus Conan o brien is still on tv, sooo
I have two of the professional series guitars. One is the Stealth Lt. To be fair, when they are well maintained the jt580 bridge is perfectly functional. I upgraded one to the Floyd Rose Original. The reason was like in your example the divots up the post. They happen because people decide to lift and lower bridge posts with full string tension. It results in the knife edge cutting into the post like a copper pipe cutter. The Stealth is one of my favourite guitars. I love the standard pickups on it. Very late 80s early 90s sounding. Somehow compressed. The granite finish on yours is amazing. Love it.
Love the video! I actually have the same guitar with the STONE finish and am in the process of making all the upgrades! But is a pretty great guitar and they look killer
I have that guitar, the LT model from 1992. You can upgrade to a Floyd rose or a Schaller (I decided to put a Schaller on mine) and It fits the route perfectly. Make sure to swap the posts, you'll need to redrill the holes a bit cause the Jackson ones are a bit smaller. If you're planning to swap the locking nut, you're gonna need to sand It, the stock ones it's not as tall than the standard Floyd/Schaller ones (the exact model that fit the radius is the R2)
Sick axe! Professional series is the best of all Japanese made by Jackson, Japanese luthiers were taught by their US counterparts and that’s the reason why the quality is that high. Once I tried out Jackson’s AT1 made in USA in a guitar store and my Professional Kelly feels like a more premium product in hands, also plays better 😂
The EMG 81x is really nice. You don’t even have to dial it all the way up to get the best tone. ALMOST all the way open sounds great without getting too top thin. Pairing that guitar with your 5150 would be a total time warp to 1992!
Oh man, I have a few Wilkinson bridges here, they are kind of cool, Gotoh or Schaller are way better, but usually Wilkinsons are ok, the guitar is awesome! Cool video !
I have a black 1994 stealth ex. Got it for my 15th birthday and loved it intensly for many years, but havent touched it since the early noughties. After having a look at it recently i realized the trem posts are leaning towards the neck and the knife edges are toast. Just ordered a wilkinson trem. Are the studs and bushings a straight swap?
@@wenelius Oh man those Stealth are great! I believe not all series are a direct swap, i think the M series and the GE1996t have the same sizes for studs and brushings!
Is that pop the springs catching on the edge of the trem route in the back? I had that happen on a guitar once until i switched from a 32mm to a 37mm block
After some years using crap guitars, i bought my first Jackson, brand new, in a store in Lisbon i thing in 1994. It was the Rhoads Ex from the Profissional series, made in Japan. In many ways, i prefer the new Js series. At least the new pickups are match better. Cheers from Portugal 🤘🍺🇵🇹
Love the Gotoh magnum locking tuners ! Just put locking tuners on my Brandon Ellis Kelly… ever since getting locking tuners on my Solar V1.6 (comes stock on guitar) I’m putting locking tuners on all my guitars with Floyd’s. String changes are faster and they feel more solid than factory stock Jackson tuners. Cool mods dude 🤘🔥🤘 I’d be interested to see a swap between an FR1000 to an FR Original if u ever have the time… if I understand correctly you have to change bushings inserting into the body… that terrifies me 😱 also are the bushings bigger ?
@@romanshredz that’s a good question! Honestly I usually just leave the 1000 series posts in place and use those. Haven’t noticed an issue. Usually the baseplate is what starts to get damaged before the actual posts.
Hey man, great video! Ive been considering getting one and I think I might have to get one now lol. Your soloing is amazing, do you need to know Music theory to play like that or did you learn from learning songs?
Thank you! I definitely learned some theory. It’s kind of like a road map - you can learn a bunch of licks, but if you don’t know how they relate to one another, it’s going to be a lot harder to use them in your own music.
Hey man stop that delay when doing cleans we hear nothing of your playing ... and you play way to fast those miracle man licks . The wilkinson floyd is the copy of the Gotoh one .
"90s is old now" that hurt!
Hahaha! I know right 😫😫😫

I have one of the 1992 Granite finish Rhoads. I purchased it brand new in 1994 in Sydney Australia. Still plays fantastically
goddam thats pure filfth, never see Rhoads in that finish

Agreed, killer guitars! But idk, I’d have to see the JT580 bridge perfectly new to see if I’d change my mind. Now the JT590 - that’s a great bridge!
A video with all the floyd rose types would be amazing!
Hell yeah! I’ll do it then!
Love the video! I actually have the same guitar with the STONE finish and am in the process of making all the upgrades! But is a pretty great guitar and they look killer

Awesome dude! Thanks for the tips! Still haven’t swapped the bridge, but I really need to lol
dude u really got some skill
Glorious beast
Thank you!
Back in the day, I had two Grover Jackson built Soloist.
That’s awesome! I’ve never played one, but they certainly look cool!

Yeah it’s definitely a deadly combination! The early 90s return 😅
Man I have one of these. Got it in 2003-2004. I've modded it several times, namely I refinished it from the stone finish which is maybe a bit sad.
Ahhh damn! That is a bummer! But still a great playing guitar 😁
I see that you are a fan of Criss Oliva which is awesome :)
Amazing guitar! I have one left handed totally original, with Takeuchi bridge. I will install a Gotoh one.
Nice!! Let me know how it works

I'm tempted by the EMG X, I love my 81's but wish it was a touch more polished. They chug alright?
Imo yes they do chug! Great pickups
Ive been curious about sophia tremolos. They seem like the best. Pricey though.
Haven’t heard of those!
I have a maple reverse NECK from a Jackson STONE guitar. I have a big hand and the neck is wide.
That’s awesome! Sounds like the Dinky Rev version. Such a cool guitar!
Is that pop the springs catching on the edge of the trem route in the back? I had that happen on a guitar once until i switched from a 32mm to a 37mm block
Assuming you haven't already you could measure the length of the takeuchi block
Hmmm, interesting! Good advice - I’ll take a look at that!
@@bvanhoosenalso I'm super addicted to your mods series. You have excellent taste in guitars my dude. :)

Hey brother my Jackson made the same sound turns out it was the nut. Had a stripped hole wasn’t holding the nut
I’ve since replaced the nut, and it’s definitely better! I still think there’s something going on at the neck pocket that I need to investigate.

Was that some Savatage before you dropped the pick? I might be picking one of those up soon. Just in a Teal green color.
Haha it probably was! Savatage are one of my favorite bands. This is a great guitar, and I highly recommend it (in ANY color!)
