Last month while going to alibaug I saw this JSW Dolvi steel plant. Its huge in size. But huge air pollution is there. Only smoke and dust in the entire area. Farm lands outside the plant has turned white coloured.
its one of the grtest example of engineering nd team work
Respect from USA. ✊
Really Speechless .nothing is impossible in life .until you have vision to make it possible in positive manner...Hats off
Dreams and imagination are worthless without a massive amount of money to put said dream into reality. Old capitalist proverb; It takes money to make money. You cant make money from nothing.

@@adiaswal5940 Nothing to do with either boastfulness or patriotism. It's our history. Mathematics, Surgery, Astronomy you name it. Indians and Chinese were the innovators of the world for millenia.
This documentary doesnt do justice to the insane complexity involved in this engineering project. Its very superficial. But still a decent effort from the producers. Also, the Japanese engineers have time and again proven their technological and engineering superiority here.
You are right. This video is very superficial and doesn't cover the complexity of the shopfloor dynamics in engineering project. I think its developed for audience who are from non-engineering background to give them a glimpse of the manufacturing and engineering world.
I take it that simply erecting the new furnace in a different spot, getting it running, THEN shutting off the old one wasn't an option? It HAD to go in the same place the old one was? Pretty darn cool that you managed to pull this off! From the standpoint of someone who's watched as plant after plant went bankrupt and shut down, leaving nothing but empty space and ghosts most of the time, it's nice to see someone building NEW furnaces! Go India! Wish we were doing that. Now that we need the capacity and capability- we no longer have it...
Well, obviously building the new furnace in a different spot is almost like building a brand steel plant, since it involves re-routing all the support structures. That would have been prohibitively expensive.
Jsw treat contractors labour as a corporate slave 😢
well,i think i found my dream work environment..the challenges are just💯
22:30 ... ‘steel’ doesn’t come out of the blast furnace. What comes out is ‘iron’ or ‘pig iron’ that’s sent to steel melting shop(LD converters or Open Hearth) to produce Steel.
Tata is a major steel producer in India after acquiring bhusan steel by Tata group
Yeah but jsw is growing fast.
JSW bought this loss making plant from Birla (earlier known as Vikram Ispat). First thing they did after taking over, fired huge number of the on-roll employees. Brought poor uneducated labour from other states to work on (cheapest) daily wages, set up their camp (god knows whether they're livable or not), it's huge colony.
JSW is increasing Units in this plant. It has increased pollution problem in villages alongside Goa Highway.
Raw material comes through sea ways. Big ships unload the raw material in small barge which then brings raw material to plant jetty in Dharamtar creek. Unloading happens on the mouth of Creek which right in front of Gateway of India, Mumbai. It's same area where small fisherman depends on for fishing. Unloading process pollutes water.
So,
Air pollution, water pollution as well as blood sucking inhuman employment conditions.
The list is never ending.
how does it that Japanese get integrated so easy and effectively with INDIANS and INDIAN Businesses

Excellent Video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. How did you lower the new blast furnace by 1.5 meters relative to the old blast furnace elevation which was explained earlier as necessary to prevent back sliding of the iron ore when it is transferred to the blast furnace through the conveyor?
pretty much just support te bottom of the furnace on shorter collums. did that a couple months ago at our furnace. new one was 1m taller but the tuyere belt and tapholes had to be same level as before. so we used a diamond wire saw to slice the top 1m of the support collums

India has to look into
production of finished steel products. Rather than raw sheet, rolls
India went past Germany as the 4th largest car 🚘 producer...
Infra projects need the most amount of steel....which is happening at rapid pace
Mostly transportation like railways and car industry and heavy duty machine use steel because it is safe. Gold is next. Printing dollars is next. Some people use nuclear bombs to build islands with Lava steel.
My dad was the project director for this project
another 20 years India is going to pass Chaina and another 50 years USA
The secret is maintaining patriotic pride and love for your country without giving into nationalism. Never repeat the mistakes of 1930s Germany or the current state of the USA.
Even if China and US stop growing for the next 20 years, India cant surpass them!! Sad truth!!

I thought they had to lower the new one for the angle to feed the materiali in in on the conveyor belt. The new one taller made it to steep.
What's the reason for blanking out certain portion s of the video.
In the end Japenese technology is the best.... You can't deny that.....

Hope they can produce quality steel ! The Chinese stuff is not good enough for some uses. Like bearings for high speed and load for sure. Even some lower performance bearings fail fast. My Prius went through 3 in one year. I went to a better mechanic and he said the bearings were junk who installed them. I told him Sanchez auto repair. He laughed and said I was taken by Dirty Sanchez using cheap Chinese bearings. He uses only US, German or Japanese bearings. My muffler has been working for 2 years now with no bearing failure. Yes the cost 150 bucks and Chinese were 100 but what lasts is key to a Prius muffler !
India needs more steel plants
