Being from North Dakota I really have no desire to hunt waterfowl anywhere else. That being said adding a sea duck hunt to the bucket list is tempting.

Thanks for all the advise. This past season was going to be awesome. My son a senior in HS and I bought a Seaark 2072. Zero ducks on the east coast and now 2 mallard limit. These videos give us inspiration to keep trying. He is headed for college after his (virtua)l graduation next week. Thanks for your hard work over the years.
It was a tough season for most last year... I'm believing this next season will be better! Congratulations to your son in his graduation... Have hunted Canada and several states in the US. Am in a top notch rice field lease. There's nothing in the world that tops seeing mallards break down over the tree tops and flutter down through Arkansas timber!
I haven't hunted in Illinois in years, so I don't have any specific suggestions. Try looking into your state DNR. They would have some good resources for you. Also, there are many facebook waterfowl groups that you can learn from. I would especially look for an Illinois waterfowl group. The best thing that a new waterfowler can do is find a mentor or at least someone who knows what they're doing to take you along.
Washington state has everything you can think of, some of the best sea duck hunting in the country, you can find flooded timber depending on where you go and also east of the cascades you got some of the best green head and hunker hunting around. I think personally if Washington had more duck hunters it would probably kill more mallards then Arkansas. Washington is unbelievable
Washington is a great state for hunting and fishing! I think part of the reason waterfowling is so great there is there isn't too many people doing it. If there were a lot more hunters in Washington, they wouldn't let em shoot 7 mallards a day (Count you blessings). The duck population in the Pacific flyway couldn't come close to supporting the harvest numbers that the Mississippi Flyway has.
@@SurvivingDuckSeason i did some simple math with each flyways numbers from the number of hunters compared to the numer of ducks harvested and the Pacific flyway had the highest amount of ducks killed per person of 16 a year I believe and the central and Mississippi flyways were around 10 to 12 or so and theres a lot less hunters over here then over there but who knows deltawaterfowl.org/u-s-duck-hunter-numbers-waterfowl-harvest-increased-in-2016-2017/ This was just one season but yeah lol
PNW Outdoorsman you’re not looking the the data that shows the amount of birds in the flyway or the amount of birds harvested. The population of ducks in the Mississippi flyway is almost triple of the Pacific flyway. For 2019 season Arkansas per person average is 16.6 which was the 2nd highest in the nation behind California which was 21. Washington and Oregon normally make the top 5. Pacific flyway is strong in this statistic because the have a 7 bird limit with all mallards. You can find all the data on US fish and wildlife website. The information is really fascinating! You’ve given me a really good idea for a video.
PNW Outdoorsman right on! I guess you and Alaska corner the market on Harlequin! I didn’t realize y’all had cinnamon teal that were still around during duck season. Cool stuff!
You are missing NB Canada. We have everything from the big ducks like blacks and green heads to tiny fellas like woodies and teal. Amazing Canadas hunting and you are never more than a couple hours from sea duck hunting.

uhhhhh californa bc it has geese seaducks and theres more ducks killed here than arkanas also cinnamon teal
Arkansas is number one. Period. I didn’t make the rules, Joel did.
Never hunted outside of Michigan but many many states are on my list. When you talked about using odd decoys during the Alaska trip it got me thinking, have you ever seen "Sir Coot"? Here's a F.B. link to him if you like different decoys lol

LOL yeah I've seen the coot!
This list doesn't hold water, how could you not include the eastern shore of md in the top 5 let alone at all?!
Did you hunt for anything else on your other Alaska trips?
Yes, hunted for bear on many other trips. Shot a few. Incredible experience! Done lots of fishing there too?
I never heard much about washington before . Is there any good hunting near Tacoma ?
All of my hunting in Washington has been in the eastern part of the state. Sorry, I'm not familiar with the hunting around Tacoma.
I hunt black river Arkansas
I've duck hunted in New Mexico and North Dakota. North Dakota is way better for duck hunting.
The Eastern Shore of Maryland I felt should of made your top 10. Have you ever hunted there?
No. I’ve hunted 40+ states. Haven’t made Maryland yet.
@@SurvivingDuckSeason put that on your list. Chesapeake Bay for divers like canvasback, redheads, blackheads. And black water refugee is loaded with puddle ducks. I watch a lot of your videos. Thanks man for sharing your insights with us
I'm from Dorchester county in Maryland and I thought that was a good destination for waterfowl
Dang I wasn’t even born in 2003
SK
Argentina is where it’s at💥💥💥💥
No Louisiana????? Gtf outta here!!
Like I said in the video, there are other states that have good hunting, I was just picking my favorite 10 places that I have hunted.
Louisiana is losing birds by the year they don’t have a reason to come down.
Gage Broussard its all them flooded corn trees up north
Nd is the duck factory should probably stay away.
Good idea 😜
The best place is Minnesota where there absolutely no ducks lol
