    Probably my favorite duck hunter on RUclips right here. Just a man chasing a limit. Hate the big channels that just blast music over 100’s of ducks gettin cut.

    Wouah Ou! Spectacular scenery! Versailles Sons et Lumieres! Don't apologize for your shooting, didn't see any crippling! The limits are not the goal so you appreciate what nature has to offer to you! Thanks again for sharing your solo hunts on kayak, your dedication is exemplary, you make really be with you in the cattails, seeing the birds landing in the spread of decoys, the corrections needed to reach your quarry, you don't cheat! And you exchange all the informations about everything, very educational too... Bravo! I can't wait for the next one, awesome!

    You wanna know what’s kinda funny. I feel like I’m happier with 2 birds than I am with 5. Sometimes with 5 I feel annoyed I didn’t limit but with 2 I’m thankful I even got one. That has been something I’ve noticed this season.

      I've said it myself. This channel sits solid at my #1 waterfowl channel. Followed by Hoke, with Duck gun at 3rd. Matt just has awesome skills, and can put a better video in a 10 minute package than the music blasters can put in 30 minutes. Best content out there in RUclips waterfowl territory.

    I absolute LOVE you videos , you do a fantastic job.
    I like the way you promote letting hens live , I like the way you make your videos , I like the no profanity, no stupid stuff it’s an A+ for me.
    As a guy who been waterfowling for 32 seasons now I appreciate what you do.
    ( I also guided full time for 4 years in Arkansas and Missouri )
    I’m not saying I don’t shoot hens , don’t want people thinking I’m perfect but here is what I do have a problem with.
    Everyone thinks you need to jump birds off the water before you shoot them to give them a “ Sporting chance “
    Let’s break it down.
    USUALLY if you shoot them on the water you have wayyyy less cripples , usually one shot will do it and you get less injured birds or suffering birds , you dispatch them quickly and in a hurry.
    That goose you hit , then missed and killed it on the last shot could have been dispatched and he woulda never heard the gun go off.
    Not only would this have been more humane and took you two less shots but they bird woulda never felt a seconds pain.
    What if you wouldn’t have killed that bird on the third shot ?
    Would you have found him ? Yes , the shot was lethal.
    Would the goose had suffered ? Absolutely !
    I’m not complaining in any way shape of fashion , what I’m trying to get across to everyone reading this is……..
    1 : jumping a bird off the water and shooting it as soon as its wings stretch out is NOT anymore sporting than shooting it on the water.
    2 : a bird feels less pain if killed instantly while water swatting , shell consumption goes down along with cripple rates.
    I’d really love to see you promoting water swatting , tell me what I’ve said doesn’t make sense.
    I bet the Indians didn’t flush birds before they shot them , I guarantee market hunters didn’t.
    At the end of the day you’re out there to harvest food as quickly and humanely as you can and water swatting is the way to accomplish that.
    Get you another when they get up , get two more , but your duck harvest rate will also go up with a quick kill on the water.
    Please show your viewers the best way to dispatch these animals.
    Gun safety is also number one and walking through a muddy marsh with gun in hand flushing a bird on uneven footing is also a hazard.
    Again , not complaining , just shedding light.
    Keep up the good work and start swatting that water

    • @HighPrairieSportsmen
      @HighPrairieSportsmen  11 месяцев назад

      Appreciate it! In hindsight, probably should've taken him on the water. It's my personal preference to get them flying most times though.

    • @jonathanhill5380

      @@HighPrairieSportsmen it’s your preference because everyone has always said it was the only way to do it to be more

    • @ernesthercher5193
      @ernesthercher5193 10 месяцев назад

      I have hunted for 50+ years in Arkansas and it’s better to get them in the air I think. It’s not that easy to cleanly kill ducks on the water,especially with steel shot. That’s my two cents worth.

    • @jonathanhill5380
      @jonathanhill5380 10 месяцев назад

      @@ernesthercher5193 odds are better killing then on the water than in the air and if you don’t kill them on the water , they’ll be in the air shortly enough and you can try it again.
      You will also never find a pellet in the breast meat when shot on the water.
