4:11 this scene is perhaps the most appropriate for a composer to use Holst’s Mars theme
I was listening to this and my dog started scratching her ear on rhythm with your eighth notes.
Thank you, I now know what da dog doing. Years of research have proven to be worthwhile. This meme can die peacefully l now.
I love that you included the last part where Lisa Gerrard comes in.
Amazing work as always! If I might make a request, can you potentially cover Your Father Would Be Proud by Michael Giacchino from the Rogue One soundtrack?
Here you go :)

@@Marc_Papeghin OMG! Thank you so much!
Can't thank you enough for this fantastic cover!
Excellent 💪🏼
1:58, Hans didn't realize he would use that for a Pirate film. ;)
same with 4:53
incredible simply incredible I can hardly believe how good this cover is, this is one of my favorite songs I still remember watching this movie in theaters and being entranced by how good all the music was especially this song this score made me a fan of Hans Zimmer and you did this song justice with your horns! I greatly appreciate that!
Thank you ! Absolutely love this piece too, I remember listening to that soundtrack over and over again when it came out :)
@@Marc_Papeghin your welcome! when I eventually got it I did the same
Great playing, as always!

You got me. I'm entertained!
Do I smell additional Gladiator covers coming because I'm all about that!
Absolutamente apreciado ❤️🌻🎶🔝❤️, magnifico ❤️
Thanks so much, must share one
아름다운 하모니의 배틀..
감사합니다~♡
I never realized how similar the main section is to pirates of the caribbean.
Exactly my thought.
Hans Zimmer did both
Amazing work! I'm starting to play french horn again and this is very helpful and absolutely useful!
I'm very glad to hear that 😃 Thank you !!
Finally at last👌🏼😩
Вспомнил детство. Очень круто!
Súper God
I have just purchased the score! Thank you 😊
Cool !! Thanks 🙂
Good job very intense keep going i like your videos 👌👏😉
Amo essa trilha sonora e amo ainda mais a trompa ( French horn),
fiquei até sem palavras!!!
Magnífico ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hans Zimmer é maravilhoso.
Concordo plenamente!!!❤️
Nice 👍
Эпично! Спасибо за уроки!
This is my fav movie.
Really makes me wanna relearn trumpet, habent played in over a decade, like i was 14 😂
good
Good lord you’re seriously talented with these ,they’re incredible 🙌
Also if there’s sheet music you should consider “The Bad Ape Bagatelle” or “End Credits” from War for the planet of the Apes, both are fairly heavy on the horns :)
Here's the Bagatelle :)

Genialissime en plus ça fait tellement lgtps que je cherche la partition...
Exquisite... have you done Creation from Frankenstein, by Patrick Doyle?
4:39 - 5:02 I'm kind of confused... was that just there a slightly altered version of "Pirates of the Caribbean"?
Well Hans Zimmer composed both, and technically was Gladiator first.
I think Zimmer must have thought it was a cool musical idea that didn't get much attention in this movie, so what the heck, why not use it (pretty much identically) again? I'm pretty sure it would not pass a copywrite violation if it weren't his own material in the first place.
@@timpapenbrock4494 He also slightly references Holst from 4:11-4:38. I just hear Mars.
My Lord.....
Crazy to think Hans was creating music for a scene of his own people being defeated in battle 🤔
Do you know where I can find the sheet music for horn on this? I see all the notes but would like a non moving version..Lol!
Great job my friend. Wonderful 👍🏻
It's available here 🙂 www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/the-battle-from-gladiator-french-horn-trumpet-digital-sheet-music/22108650?aff_id=553715
this is incredible! if i may ask- how do you get such a dark, mellow sound in the horns bass register? i can easily hit the notes, but they always sound growly.
it’s hard to say without hearing how you play. i would recommend trying to find some other horn players in your area and seeing what they think.
im such a fan. Can you do the theme from Foundation that would be soooooo awesome. please and thank you. Its By Bear McCreary
"Are you not entertained!?"
Do you have the full score? Great video btw!
Wish I had it ! (I transcribed it all by ear) And thanks ! 🙂
@@Marc_Papeghin could you also do anything from the movie 300?
Hanz Zimmer in that film you mimmickin ' , '' Conquest the Paradise '' by Vangelis ... Let' s take truth out...
How much do you practice?
I actually don't really "practice" anymore, I just play and record a lot :)
I hate it when composers re-write the same thing they have done before. I know gladiator came first, but this sounds so close to pirates of the Caribbean at times... John Williams does this too at times...
Hans Zimmer so closely copied "Mars" from Holst's The Planets that a lawsuit for copyright infringement was filed by the Holst foundation. :D
I love your work and respect your talent as always, but this track does seem on the boring side as far as the brass is concerned.
Well, it's Hans Zimmer, his music is generally more on the simple side :)
Marc covers it in french horn and trumpet because those are the instruments that he's mastered the most (and he's mastered many, as you can see in his medleys). He tries to make tributes to the music that he loves, music that may or may not be fitting for brass instruments.
@@mabe4322 I'm not at all trying to criticise the musicians ability or choice of instruments.
@@ikschrijflangenamen Oh, yeah, I know, I was just saying. There are definitely some covers in this channel that maybe didn't need a french horn version.
The music is so fuckind good my left hand is stopping my right hand to press this fucking dislike button argHaaa
Can I use this music for a youtube video ?
Sure ! As long as you credit me somewhere :)
@@Marc_Papeghin i'll Do It
Amazing!!!!
