  • 2023 was Ireland's busiest ever year on public transport.
    At 308 million, passenger numbers were up by 24% on 2022
    and were 5% above the previous record year of 2019.

    Coming home from Manchester U.K. via Holyhead on SailRail and having family living in Dunshaughlin Co Meath, getting from the Irish Ferries Terminal at Dublin Port with no DART or LUAS connection is a complete nightmare - the 53 and Nolan’s Coaches are just not good enough options and there should be some sort of water taxi option at high tide to get into the city centre more easily - even Bus Éireann does not operate direct coach services from the Port (like it does from Dublin Airport) despite its close proximity to the Port Tunnel & the M50 and the other option to Dublin Docklands rail station from North Wall (Irish Ferries & Stena terminals) is totally inaccessible
