    As a fellow therapist I agree so much about firm boundaries. I have a hard rule that I leave every day at 3:45 and NEVER check emails or my work phone and don't have emails connected to my personal phone. It helps me a lot. My clients know my hours and who to contact if there's an emergency after hours. I always give them the analogy of masks on the airplane, us as therapists HAVE to put our mask on FIRST (self care) so we can recharge to care for them! 💙Also soooo agree about planning things to look forward too! Thankfully I'm a school based therapist so there are designated breaks interwoven in and I always do fun things on those breaks, along with downtime too of course! Love being school based!

    Hi Steph! This is a wonderful video. I am currently working on my master's in clinical mental health counseling and am searching the internets for ideas for my group counseling class... my topic is burnout/work-life balance, so this video definitely helped to kind of give me a starting place for planning my hour long discussion (oof!). Thanks for posting this video! :)

    Very helpful to see others can relate. I have been a counselor for over twenty nine years and am just tired of all the mental health stuff every day.

    Thank you so much for this video, I sooo needed to see it! I'm a newer therapist who is almost 50. I can definitely feel the compassion fatigue. My biggest issue is that I am so mentally exhausted that I just don't want to speak to anyone at the end of my day. Any ideas how to deal with that? Thank you again!!

    These are great tips very very beneficial. Setting up small boundaries to create pockets of peace throughout my day has been extremely helpful.

    Boundaries are big in this field . Are field does have systemic issues occurring that lead to burnout .

    Sorry! Unrelated, but I love that shirt and hair. How do you wear your natural hair and style it so you feel pretty. Sometimes my hair is too much and I end up feeling really ugly. Specifically when I’m getting burnt out.

    My thing is being burnt out at home. I have way to much that stresses me out. I love my job and wish to never leave by the end of the day. But when I'm home I want to go back to work. The weekend (my off days feel so long. But the week days fly.
