I made this one for mu hubby. I heated it with the hair dryer and put a heavy book on it. Not to much heat or it will ripple the ID window. Then it just stayed by its self. Plus a man's wallet forms to fit the pocket.
Hi Barbie! About the Scan N Cut mat not sticking …I have been using clear laminate shelf liner and it’s worked great to give my mat the stickiness need for cutting cork, vinyl etc. It comes on a roll from Walmart, Home Depot, even the Dollar store etc and you just cut the size you need to cover the mat, (make sure it extends at the top to cover where the auto blade does it’s depth test) and apply it smooth side against the mat… then the sticky side of the laminate liner is facing up and gives you great stickiness. The other great thing is that it comes off the mat so easily when you want to remove it. It lasts for many cuts and then I just replace it when needed. It kind of reminds me of how you would use the Brother sticky sheet to cut fabric. Hope this helps! It’s been a life saver for me!
Your wallet is beautiful! I think if it sits under some weight, it'll stay closed better. But snap would be a good option as well. I've made the Architect Ladies Wallet many times and it's my favorite wallet to make. But I've never made the men's wallets. They look very easy to put together.
For the not as sticky mat, I saw a lady use a regular mat, put cricut strong grip transfer tape on the mat, sticky side up, then put her vinyl on that. Not only was it extra sticky, it kept pieces of cuts off the mat. It has been working great for me.
Super cute wallet, Barbie! What I used to do back when I made a lot of NCWs was close them up and place them under a heavy book or two for several days. That way, they got trained to stay closed lol...I'm sure that'd work for this as well, especially since it's cork 😊 But snaps or velcro are great ideas, too!
Love your tutorials ❤ I just finished sewgnar key fob wallet hack and it’s doing the same thing. (Got some inferior cork). I just tried this and it helped a lot! I took my spray bottle with water and dampened (steamed a spot on ironing board) while still warm and moist I put my folded wallet on it and just held it down till it cooled and then did the other side. Woohoo! It worked
I am sure eventually after the wallet is in a pocket it will stay folded but in the meantime put a little steam on it and fold it up with a weight on it. It will stay after a day or two.
Such a cute men’s wallet…great job Barbie
Thank you 🤗

Great job Barb. I love it! You make me smile every time. If it weren’t for little mistakes we wouldn’t know you were human!
Thank you so much Holly!!!

Hi Barbie how about sew in some elastic you can fold over to keep the wallet closed 😊
Great idea!

I’ll try it. Thanks
My hubby usually a trifold wallet snd they don’t have a snap. Fold it and put a book on it overnight. It will stay closed.!
That's a great idea!
I wouldn’t put any snap on it. Men usually put them in back pocket and snap would rub when they’re sitting. Great job!
True!! Thank you
Beautiful Barbie! BTW, I have the exact same ouchie on my finger from doing just what you did! It’s been a week and it’s still out of commission 🙄
Oh wow!
Is this a redo? I remember the finger injury.
Hi Sally. No I did a live and this was recorded.
@@jeanniesdesigns5295 that’s where I saw it! 😂
What double sided tape do you use?
I use either the dst from sailrite.com or weftandwarpco.com/search?q=dst&options%5Bprefix%5D=last
@@jeanniesdesigns5295thank you. I purchased the pattern. I love this. Going to make several for gifts. Your videos are so informative.
