Ok so I am here to shed some light on the Headless Ape boss so please just hear me out, you might actually end up enjoying the boss! 🥺🙏 I promise Im not crazy! So I can understand why at first glance everyone hates this boss because everyones first instict would be to elimiante the brown ape that gets summoned. I used to do this and HATED the boss but now I actually look forward to fighting it. The fight works in a similar manner to Pontiff phase 2 if you approach it the intended way. Whenver the white ape does an attack, the brown ape has a specific follow up they will always do (Kinda like pontiff clone but allot more thought out than that fight). For example when the white ape does the scream, brown ape will follow up with a specific combo everytime and the white ape will just sit back and wait for the brown ape to finish. Then When white ape does his regular combos, brown ape will just sit back and wait then you knock down the white ape by parrying his big slam, brown ape will follow up with a jump attack.. There are some combos where white ape will do an attack and brown ape will weave in a swipe and then white ape will follow up with a slam but there will NEVER be 2 active hitboxes on you at the same time if fight them correctly. No RNG elements whatsoever. The whole fight works like this and the only time the only time they will feel Horseshit is if you try and rush down the brown ape and get caught lackin. Now most of the time I fight this boss, the brown ape will still be alive at the end. Im not saying its like an S tier boss either but I do firmly believe it is one of the better ganks fromsoft has made since there is no RNG element. Instead of having 2 bosses with seperate movesets, its basically just 1 big moveset just spread across 2 enemies you have to keep track of. Headelss ape is probably the most horribly misunderstood boss they have made so hopefully someone who reads this can start enjoying the fight and actaully grow to like it :D
the boss was actually pretty easy if im being honest I beat it in 3 tries all u gotta do is wait for the brown one to attack parry it until its posture broke and then its dead
Simple tricks for some bosses: Genichiro, lady butterfly, and all three Isshin’s can be put in a sort of combat loop with two attacks and then deflect before repeating. Isshin Ashina Phase 2 is easiest when staying close and then dashing behind him when he goes for a fire attack, it’s a really obvious tell and makes it really easy to get behind him. Inner Isshin’s Open Gate, the name of the black mortal blade, opener attack can be deflected with purple umbrella. A surprising amount of super armor attacks bosses use can be stopped with Senpou techniques: Isshin Ashina’s start up for one mind, Saint Isshin’s charged spear spin, etc.
*and girls I kinda like tier lists - I could watch stuff like this all day - I may be weird 🤣 Oh, I am weird - I actually seem to like the headless ape fight 🤣 I mean it's not great but I always did it first try and I like monkey girlfriend 🤣 People will hate me now for this 😅

I feel like way of tomoe was a way to show the player how much they have improved since the beginning of the game to see you lose to him and then at the end of him to be powerless against your newfound strength.
The ape is either way too hard or way too easy in the first phase, D tier is based. The first monk is also way easier if you parry thrusts instead of using Mikiri, because then the combo keeps going.
Having beaten this game so many times on new game , ng+1-7 , using demon bell and no kuro's charm , beating all gauntlets with double hard mode no deaths and having like 300 + hours my list would go like this , also I will lump some of these together because it makes no sense for some of them to be isolated . S TIER - Inner Isshin and Sword Saint Isshin , Inner Father , Inner Genichiro A TEIR - Demon of Hatred , Genichiro Ashina ( the three phase fight ) , Owl Father , Great Shinobi Owl B TIER - The Divine Dragon ( total fight ) , True Monk , Gyoubu Masataka Oniwa , Lady Butterfly , Guardian Ape , Isshin Ashina/ Emma ( the whole fight ) C TIER - Corrupted Monk D TIER - Folding Screen Monkeys F TIER - Headless Ape ( who thought this fight was in any way shape or form a good idea ? ) Honestly Sekiro doesn't have a lot of boss fights and it has a lot of repeats but aside from a few stinkers the bosses are truly great overall imo .

Emma is somehow the hardest boss in the game for me She gives me way more trouble than ishhin or the DOH Her timings are just so weird And her grab is very hard to avoid
I really like the ape duo. I haven’t had an actual death to them yet and I find the fight fun and engaging. (This is not a joke, you may take it as a joke but I’m serious) 🦍🦍
