I have figured out a few days ago that you can dodge Guardian Ape's grabs too easily. 1) the "standing grab" - you just need to jump in his direction. 2) the "jumping grab with roll" - you just run forward below him. That's the magic.
I actually did this once when i played sekiro way too much, if you grind it day and night and have completed all other gauntlets no damage 10 times or so you are pretty much prepared for it, i ended up using 2 flasks one for corrupted monk and the other for owl. I haven't recorded it but i guess you just gotta take my word for it, other resources i balanced 3 snap seeds for the monk in mibu village, 2 for lady butterfly , 1 yashariku , 1 divine confetti for lady butterfly, one of both for actual corrupted monk , and just yashariku for owl father. I spent most of my spirit emblems in owl father and corruped monk bossfight and all my ash in corrupted monk bossfight.

apes grab in first phase has a MASSIVE run-up, and if you just start sprinting backwards as soon as you see it, you live every time the hitbox is still way too big but its only too big on the back to force you to run away from him and not into him it is kinda stupid that it looks like u can run under him even tho u cant, but whatever
You have to do a bunch of side stuff that i recommend watch a video about that. Then you have to fight owl father. After defeating him and beating the shura gauntlet, i think you have to beat all the three then this one unlocks. Note that this one doesn't have any rewards for you. Guardian ape grab has kinda shit hitboxes but if you just run away from him in a straight line it never gets you, and you finish close enough to get some hits in.
This is really cool. The other day I beat Genichiro 50 times in one sitting without resting. I’m gonna try to get that number up to 100 and record it on my other account (though I can never get the motivation to edit) I was looking up challenges along the lines of “beating a boss 100 times without resting” and I couldn’t find any, until this one got recommended to me which is much more impressive. With breath of light, I could fight Genichiro all day. (50 attempts in and I’m full health with 1 gourd used and no other items)
@@Castle_Gulag stopped tonight with 73. Gonna finish it tomorrow. Also, I’ll definitely redo the challenge but charmless maybe even with demon bell. Not sure if I’m ready for that yet. I could also try and go completely itemless and just rely on breath of light and resurrects… we’ll see
The Guardian Ape’s grab hit me every single time without fail until I realized I can become the monkey and swing from tree to tree until the attack ends Also for the second phase, you can use the loaded spear to grab the worm inside his neck and pull it out, dealing a good bit of vitality and posture damage Fantastic job tho, man, this would’ve taken me way more attempts 💀

i think you need to get both shura and severance ending
u need to do shura, immortal severance and purification (you have to beat demon of hatred to unlock shura gauntlet)
