When I was high school student I went to a English learning academy to raise my TOFLE score. The teacher who mostly taught me was a guy from the US and I found his lecture mysteriously soothing. Now I have found out the reason and that is because he got the such great humor just like you and his humor made me relieved during the lecture. Thanks to him and his lecture now I am in Japan as a student of an international university. I just found your videos today from my recommendation and I am glad that I finally met a such instructor who motivate me to study English again. Thank you
To be honest I haven’t learned these slangs before but throughout the time of speaking and listening in different environments it has lead me to this stage of understanding and getting the points
I just realised the more I watch your videos despite being an English native speaker, the more I start to question stuff in the English language because this language is actually pretty confusing
I love your classes, even after 20 years living in the states, I still finding it hard to understand slang. Thank you for your lessons. Have you ever think of making a video to just talk about who you are, what is your background, family etc? It would be nice to know.
Can you please make a video with tips about ielts exams . I really like the way you explain and teach and this video would be useful for me and i believe for a lot of other followers . Keep up the good work 💪

Once, I was walking down the street and met up with my barber. When he saw me I could tell that he was getting a nervous wreck looking at my haircut. He was like: - Man, no woman would make a pass at you wearing this haircut. If you want everyone to be tripping around you(i know, It sounds weird), visit me on Monday. Monday seemed to come out of nowhere and I got my new haircut. Now, looking in the mirror, I see that If I had kept walking around with such a mess on my head, I would be a goner
These are the teachers that deserve the fucking world man I just want to give this superb human being a big hug. Wish you nothing but the best boss man keep teaching us in more captivating and engaging ways than our old teachers or current teachers at school.
Just a few notes on the word ‘goner’ I’m pretty certain the word ‘goner’ derives from the word ‘gone’ which means to… disappear, no longer exist, or to have been moved or move itself to a different location. So, to be a ‘goner’ would mean that you will disappear, or cease to exist. However, goner can also be used in different contexts, though rarely. Sometimes, for example in sport, people can say “I thought we were goners in the first half, but somehow we managed to get the win” Meaning they thought they were going to lose in the first half of the game.
Hi, James I want to ask if you can make a video about how to use linking words and maybe one with more synonyms for for example. I love your videos they help me a lot.

Very good video, but I think tripin is very rarely used to indicate somebody is mentally ill. The slang comes more from the actual "Drug Trip" so it means more confused, or when you argue with somebody: "you tripin" that they're wrong , because they're not in the right state of mind
I learned recently a word shotgun means a passenger seat in a car and bus means collecting dishes and plates from a table i wanna know more words like these very simple everyday words that have different meanings
I'm not sure if this counts, but the word deck is sometimes used to mean hit or punch. Someone might say "I'm going to deck you!" meaning they're going to hit you very hard.
Croak, which normally refers to the sound that a frog or toad makes, is also slang for dying or death. I could say "He croaked" to mean he died. It's not something you would say about someone you like or care about. You would say this in a casual conversation with someone you know well when talking about someone you dislike or don't know personally.
