Im 44 6ft 200lbs and i have everything but a saddle to mobile hunt and been hunting out a homemade saddle made of realtree fleece material and i want to purchase a new saddle but i strictly crossbow hunt due to arm injury and i really like the jx3 but wondering how effective it would be hunting with crossbow... i may just go to loc-on stand & climbing sticks if i can't find the right saddle but i like facing the tree ! How do u feel about crossbow hunting out of the jx3 ?

I am 44 and 200 also lol. I would say it would depend on the setup and scenario. Compared to my soft saddle it would definitely be easier to shoot out of because the JX3 keeps you so far away from the tree in a seated position and a setup where the deer should come from your left, assuming you are right handed, you can even use your knee as a rest for your elbow. You are in a fully seated position unlike a soft saddle and the standoff fork between your knees keeps your knees away from the tree so you have a lot more room to work with than what you would think. The tree is always an issue with the limbs of a crossbow from any stand, but I personally don’t like trying to shoot behind me from a hang on with a bow. A hang on would save a little weight and give you a slimmer profile, while the JX3 would be a night and day comparison when it comes to comfort. As far as shooting capabilities, if you are comfortable getting under or over your tether already, I believe with the right platform and top stick placement you could maneuver around the tree to get as much or more shot opportunities as a hang on. I have the JX3 sticks with the bar that attaches to the top stick and I can get as far around the tree with that alone as I can my Tethrd Predator XL combined with my top stick. I use my soft saddle for really long hikes, but on days when I plan to stay all day in a tree my JX3 and the sticks are what I prefer if I’m not going too crazy far. Both are expensive and I would highly suggest either finding someone who has one close by you can get in or go to the deer expo or mobile hunters expo and get in one there (I don’t know where you live but hopefully there is one close). I hope this helps and if you have any more questions feel free to ask!

@@thecedarridgechronicles thanks man ,I think I will purchase the jx3 and I'm from north Carolina and I hunt small private farms and my favorite mobile stand is the old school Cadillac face the tree climbing stand so I figured that jx3 would be ideal !
