  • Come with me to North Hertfordshire, as I tackle a 13.5 mile (22 km) trail run through the countryside around Royston, Therfield, Kelshall and Hay Green.
Organised by my local club, Royston Runners, this trail run is all about celebrating the post-harvest countryside - complete with a surprising amount of mud, hills, puddles rabbit holes, tree roots, etc! :-)
And along the way we’ll find out interesting stuff - plenty of nature, a 14th century monument found in a pond, and the fact that Royston is on the intersection of two of the four 'Royal Roads of England', as defined by Henry of Huntingdon in the 1100s!
I’m a middle-aged, UK trail runner who enjoys the countryside - why not come along with me as I explore new places and find out interesting stuff about them?
If you have any suggestions for runs I might try, or locations to explore, I’d love to hear from you - I always read all the comments on my videos.

Thank you - loved this video.
Was so close to doing this event this year but didn't make it. Might see if I can organise a social club run over the winter months. 🏃👍

See you in Stockholm for the HM next August Julian?
Or maybe Cambridge HM in March?
I’m marshalling next week at the Great Eastern Run in Peterborough if you’re doing that one

Ach! Both great shouts Jason - sadly I didnt get into Cambridge and I'm committed to a music festival on the Stockholm weekend! I do want to run in Scandinavia (as well as re-visit Ireland) so must do some more research. Are you doing Stockholm?

@@julianberryyes 2nd attempt at Stockholm after bailing at the 7km mark with sore joints back in 2023.
Check out the polar night/midnight sun races in Tromsø, I’ve done those three times
