It would be awesome to have more submissions from video techs. Everyone has been so slammed since getting back to work, there hasn't been much interest, but it would be great to change that this year. Everyone is welcome!
If you lost all your other tools & just showed up to a gig with a decimator, you'd still end up saving someone's butt! We'd love to have more video kits on the channel if you ever feel up to sharing what you carry in a video. Thanks David.
Are dirty fiberoptic connectors or jacks ever a problem? If so how do you clean them and keep them clean? Do you use a tool like the Karono LC/MU Fiber Optic Cleaner? Do you ever use the hand held power meter part of the fiber optic cable tester? Or is that more useful for installers?
Would love to have you share a video of your kit on the channel Jon if you'd be up for showing us how the DiY trekpak came out? Message me if you're up for it.
@@DcSoundOp I'm up for doing it but am still young and quite inexperienced so not sure how much insight I can provide. And theres already hundreds of videos on the DiY if you just search for it :)
Why would you not recommend plugging a USB light into a wall adapter? The voltage is going to be 5V and the current is going to be whatever the light draws- its not like its going to "overload"
Love seeing more video tech stuff. I’m a video tech myself and love seeing what other people have in their kits!

Beautiful setup. We are like brothers. ;) I have a 12g decimator on me at all times...you know... just in case. ;)

Love the kit videos. Thanks Kayne for taking the time. Lots of good stuff that wasn’t in my wheelhouse.
This was great! Thanks for putting this together.
Where does one get that Intercom splitter cable?
Those are from AV Lifesavers I believe - avlifesavers.com/hsc.htm - sorry for the slow response!

Yeah they can get really annoying. That’s why Optical con is so great, it closes the fiber head automatically.
plenty of videos online for diy trekpak, made mine up for 20 quid
