    I added the torque settings to the description above. Before I put the car on the street, everything will be torqued to the proper spec.

    Really excellent series. I live in NYC and cannot work on my car anymore so this was walking down memory lane. Thanks. Benz geek.

    Hello Impala Man, These are wonderfully clear videos, I'm starting a W126 restoration job, but I'll have to replay these videos several times to get the hang of it. But you are wonderfully clear. Thanks for taking the time.. Bill

    Great tutorial mate! Helped me a lot doing my 300 SE. I just wish I had a lift like you. Doing everything on the floor is damn hard work!!

      It's some of the best money I've spent. If you enjoy working on cars and do it a lot, it is a worth while investment.

    Great series and tutorial, we have 1983 300SD and I just replaced the track rod ends on drivers side. We used Delphi TA1464/TA1465 and with these parts you cannot count the turns as the threaded shaft is longer than the original. I did a best guess measurement and will get the alignment shop to check the geometry. Also I noticed that you have snapped brake wear cables the same as me 🤨I'm going to look at your brake restoration vids now and see if you fix that too. Love the videos!! Thanks. 🙂

      Yes I had to replace the brake wear sensor cables as well.

    Hi there, Thank you for posting these video's. I have a 500SE W126 and will have to renew some of these parts also sometime, I can feel the car being somewhat rough driving over bumps. Hope you have a smooth ride with your nice rust free diesel. Greetings from europe

    Germans don't smoke stuff. At least not back then. However, that is not a car. It's a Panzer tank. Lol.
    I'm glad I stuck to the balljoints and did not try for the bushings on mine when I did that.

      The bushings on these cars are quite a challenge.

    hi, I am almost finished this suspension job, i just cant find the torque setting for the upper ball joint, by any chance, can you share that with me,, thank you,,,

    • @ImpalamansGarage
      @ImpalamansGarage  3 года назад

      Torque for the hex nut on the upper ball joint is 40Nm (30 ft/lb). Interesting that I failed to put that in the description. Thanks for catching that. I will add it. Mercedes comically calls it a "guide joint" (instead of a ball joint) in the service manual.
