This was a very awesome interview! I've passed by Purple's blogs a few times, but never in too much depth. Didn't realize our stories were so similar. I'm a Black woman from Atlanta, currently living in Seattle, intentionally pursuing fire, but after listening to this, dang I feel like I'm doing something wrong. My yearly expenses here over the last two years have averaged to be about $27,600 and I thought that was me living frugally. I have an FI age goal of 40 and an FI# goal of $875,000, but I need to go look my these numbers again. I wonder if I lowered my FI# a bit and I tried to cut my expenses by another $5,000-$6,000 if I could retire at 35 and not 40? It's something to consider and now I know to be a true possibility after hearing Purple's story!

Nice to see how she broke down the numbers like that. That'll help a lot of people I'm sure. I wonder how she reacted to the market dropping due to the Corona Virus?

Although I am “FIWMswdev”, it must be an act of fortune that I have yet to meet another FIWMswdev. Where do “they”/we congregate to chat FI code? 😎
