I will say, the iPad is already really thin and really fast. BUT the screen upgrade is incredible… and you are right, putting on a case won’t make it seem as bulky anymore
I have a 2020 11inch ipad pro. It has some dead pixels or something weird going on in the corner of my screen. I was thinking I might upgrade this year but I don't think I will. I just don't feel the drive to. And it's sad to say but I feel Apple has been losing me these past couple of years. I just don't like the way they do things. Honestly the only ipads that I think would be worth it for me right now would be if the ipad air had 120hz screen or a 120hz ipad mini. I might start looking at other options.

They removed so many things and considering I just got an Apple Pencil for this iPad last year (no backwards compatibility sucks) I guess my expectations were too high and I don’t really feel a drive anymore.

The iPad Pro has always had powerful hardware (and a hefty price tag!!!), but to be honest, there has never been software truly suitable for the iPad Pro! It was like having a laptop with iPhone software, and that was why iPads were only bought for kids, not for office use. Applications like Capture One, Photoshop, Acrobat Reader, Preview, file management, and closing an open program... everything is 10x harder or impossible with iPadOS! Hopefully, Apple will finally introduce a "MacOS" and not just iPhone software (marketed as "iPad OS") for the "modular MacBook Air with a touchscreen and stylus" (also known as "iPad Pro"), otherwise, Apple itself will be to blame for the downfall of the iPad Pro. One of the biggest differences I've found it the past with iPad pro /keyboard combos, is that is really doesn't live up to the 'post-PC' hype, let alone to obvious deficiencies in iOS vs MacOS. These combos tend to not balance well, can't relly be used on the lap and/or other 'on the go' scenarios, rather, they tend to work best on a desktop & which tends to defeat the purpose a little. Given here that we have a redesign of both the 13" iPad Pro (thinner, lighter) and the the new magic keboard dimensions and materials, am therefore wondering if this really improves this situation in terms of balance & ergonomics. Of course there are many other less expensive keyboard options available, eg, the excellent ESR accessories etc, but, what about Apple's prefferred expensive combo here, paerhaps even including their new pen at the top (extra weight and/or balance considerations). Does it actually work like a laptop? Or is it another overpriced nothingburger?
no, even the older apple pencil won't work. You need to buy the newer models of pencil and keyboard if you want to use them when you upgrade to these new ipad pros

Only aluminium base, function keys and larger trackpad. They have the same connectors. So it could have worked with M2 M1 iPad pros but yeah Apple being Apple .

That’s what I want to find out too… Pretty noticeable difference in the XDR display with and without it when they first got them at my work office. In videos it doesn’t look that different, but in person it almost makes you mad sometimes if you’re working with colors lmao

What bothers me the most is the fact that a very expensive M2 Air only has 8 GB RAM despite having a (very welcome) 1 TB SSD option! The M2 can handle easily up to 24 GB RAM. Same game with the Pro…it’s very cool…but for the incredible price…why „only“ up to 16 GB RAM and not 24 or 32? My 3 years old M1 Pro also has 16 GB RAM! If you really want to use it as a Final Cut Pro device 4 TB SSD would be better…but no…only 2 TB…just like my 3 years old M1 Pro as well! Sometimes the decisions of Apple management doesn’t make any sense at all!

How much base storage would you recommend If I want to run procreate, procreate dreams for animation, and Final Cut Pro. I currently have a 12.9 3rd gen pro and I’ve only used 150gb out of 256gb over 6 years but only ran procreate. No animation or fcp. M4 is faster so how is 4 cores faster on an inferior chip?

You mean the magnetic one? It shouldn’t. They changed the position of the charging coil, and the old pen likely can’t work
Maybe it will work, but probably can't charge it wirelessly with these new ipads. Since there are changes in the position of magnets and coils.

no, even the older magic keyboard won't work. You need to buy the newer models of pencil and keyboard if you want to use them when you upgrade to these new ipad pros

How much base storage would you recommend If I want to run procreate, procreate dreams for animation, and Final Cut Pro. I currently have a 12.9 3rd gen pro and I’ve only used 150gb out of 256gb over 6 years but only ran procreate. No animation or fcp. I’m looking to downsize to an 11” because the 12.9 just isn’t portable enough but I’m wondering if I should update the storage.
