Buna! Sunteti o doamna superba, aveti niste ochi de inger, si faceti lucruri exceptionale! Ma inspir de la dvs. fiindca nu stau bine cu imaginatia dar imi place lucrurl de mana.
Just found you ! Thank the Lord ! I know this was in 2016. But thank the Lord its still on here. I love how you show us every thing and take your time to show me (us) and what you use to do it. ☺️ thank you. I love the quilt you made behind you. It is amazing beautiful , did i say Thank you ? I can’t wait to see all of your videos. Thank the Lord for people like you.
Thank you so much! It was the first video tutorial I ever did, with the help of the 19-year old daughter of my Tai Chi coach...Glad it was of help to you.
I just got my pattern!!!! I have to finish up a couple quilts then I am getting started. Can't wait. Thanks for all the information because I am not all that perfect at the applique process but I do enjoy all of the hand work.
I love this video! You give very clear instructions and keep the pace up. Really great! I hope you make more videos and don't listen to people who have nothing better to do than complain about the music. :-) Thanks for sharing!
If they are complaining about something as silly as a music choice, mute it or choose another channel. People need to stop being keyboard warriors and start walking in other’s shoes. Your music AND your channel is wonderful!🥰♥️
I cant complain about the choice of music or her voice because I am very hard of hearing. Sub titles would have helped a lot. So I wasn't able to watch.
There is only a bit of music at the beginning of the video, NOT all the way through. This is a really good instructional video, and wonderful for those of us who are left handed! Thank you so much!
Excellent programme, thank you so much for all the tips. I've just ordered your pattern book and a half inch bias maker😊kind regards from an octogenarian left hander
I love your channel! I am beginning to learn hand appliqué and I, too am left-handed. Thank you for explaining in such a concise and helpful way! Can I ask: is the fusible paper you use similar to other one-sided fusibles or is it specific to appliqué?
Hi there! Sorry for the late reply. The fusible paper I am using is special to applique. It is designed to dissolve when/if the quilt is washed. I am not planning on washing Cozy Village any time soon but that is just how the paper is designed. There is another product from a Spanish brand nammed Apliquik that is thinner that is also for applique. I tend to like the thicker paper because it gives a bit of lift to the applique but if you are working with really small pieces and a lot of detail it may be too bulky. I am including a link here for you. amzn.to/3MQqgLw
I bought your pattern having watched the video, I would like to know, do you draw on the glue side of the wash away appliqué paper or do you reverse the pattern and draw on the unglued side of the wash away paper. Thanks and I am looking forward to starting the blocks
Hi Christina. As with all applique we have to turn thing around in our heads a little :) For symmetrical shapes it totally doesn't matter which side you draw on (for example the leaves and flower petals). For the houses and other items that aren't right-left symmetrical you will need to draw on the glue side. I use a light box and I usually put the actual pattern that I am tracing from upside down on the light box so it is mirror imaged, that way I can keep drawing on the non-glue side of the applique sheets. Have fun with your project!
Hi, I would like to order your pattern and some of the other items you have shown. Please let me know where to order these. Thanks Felicia, love your pattern. Can't wait to start it. KB
Hi Karen, You can get the pattern on my website. www.feliciasworld.com/shop. I have the needles and thimbles in sale too...but with the holidays and kids home from school I just haven't had the time to put them on my website for sale yet. If you want to order them directly from me before I get myself organized enought to have a shop-update you can send me an email to felicia@feliciasworld.com and I will send you a Paypal invoice. I will get it in the mail to you right away. I don't have the applique sheets in stock right now. I will have them, but you probably want to get started on your project. Until I get them in stock you can purchase them directly on the C&T website. They are called Wash Away Applique Sheets. www.ctpub.com/wash-away-applique-sheets/ The applique sheets are also usually available on Amazon.
Felicia, the link to your website is misspelled. I was able to figure it out, but I'm sure you want to get that corrected. I LOVE this quilt! Thanks! Lori...
Hi, Please advise what is the size of the kurumi buttons you used or is that listed in the pattern.? I am getting ready to start this pattern and gathering all supplies before I start. Thank you I truly love this pattern.
Glad you like it! You can get the pattern at my website www.feliciasworld.com. If that is not convenient it is also available on Amazon and on C&T publishing's website (ctpub.com) Best, Felicia
I loved your presentation, Felicia. However I could not finish the video the music was interfering when you were speaking. If you had closed caption on the video I would have just put that on. Perhaps if it's available, allow for CC to circumvent the music? I wish you the best in your endeavors, terrific design. You should be proud!
Hi There! You leave the "paper" in the appliqué. this isn't really paper. It is a special product specially for leaving in your applique. If you wash your quilt it will sort of disintegrate and just leave some loose fibers in place. Hope that helps!
You don't actually take out the paper. It is designed to stay in. Initially this makes the applique a little stiffer than it otherwise would be, but if its a decorational quilt this isn't really a concern. If you are making a utility quilt which will be washed the paper will dissolve but the loose fibers will still remain in the quilt and probably continue to add a little more lift to your appliqué.
Hi Sheila. The applique sheets stay in. They give a little lift to the applique and they soften over time. If you wash your project...the sheets will slowly disintegrate.
Hi. Great video. Especially enjoyed explanation of the appliqué sheets. When you are doing your hand stitching are you actually catching any of the sheet? Does this interfere with your appliqué stitches?
Hi Sherry, the needle goes right through the appliqué sheets. Since your stitches are small your needle mostly stays in the fabric but occationally you will nick the edge of the appliqué sheet.
I love making this pattern but I have one question. When I sew the windows and doors doing reverse applique, the fabric got sort of puffy. Any idea why this would happen? Thanks for your help!
Are you talking about the fabric of the house, or the window panes? If its the window panes, try gluing them in with the basting glue before sewing. It should work well without getting puffy. Feel free to email me and attach a photo if you need further help. felicia@feliciasworld.com
Hi there, I am not using any one line of fabric but most of the ones in this quilt are Japanese. Look for similar fabrics from Japanese brands like Daiwabo and Lecien. I am also mixing in the occasional American civil-war reproduction style print. If you like the look I am getting, make sure to incorporate a lot of the Daiwabo and Lecien woven fabrics.
I have my pattern starting soon. You are a wonderful instructor. Next time please lose the music! It is so hard to hear You speaking. Good camera shots of close up work. Hope you are planning your next project. Maybe go smaller, smaller is popular. I may try reducing a block on my copier to see how that goes.
Please, those chimes/music in the background and your soft voice do not go together. Thank-you for turning it off at the 2 minute 45 second mark ... I almost did not watch it. The My cozy Village Applique is beautiful. Never thought that much about doing one, but, this one has changed my mind. ;)
Hi Sandra. I won't be putting music on future tutorials. the music on this one stops after a couple of minutes so you can still enjoy almost the entire tutorial if you so wish. Best, Felicia
Occasionally I will sell a quilt, but not this one. It took me a LONG time to design and complete and it was my very first publication with C&T Publishing so this one is just to close to my heart to ever part with. I do commissions but not quilts that require months of work...at least not at a price point that most people could part with.

A work of art. I could have watched this ALL day.
One of the best tutorials I have watched!
Thank you so much! It was the first video tutorial I ever did, with the help of the 19-year old daughter of my Tai Chi coach...Glad it was of help to you.

To ensure misery, demand perfection in all you do. I have this reminder on an applique pillow and refer to it whenever I start getting too fussy.
Por fin yo he conseguido tu libro en Amazon, estoy muy feliz! Gracias, Felicia!

Thank you Debbie! That is good to hear. I will make more videos....so many plans, so little time.

Felicia
Hi, Please advise what is the size of the kurumi buttons you used or is that listed in the pattern.? I am getting ready to start this pattern and gathering all supplies before I start. Thank you I truly love this pattern.
Hi Joni. You need 72 21mm kurumi buttons for the blocks and 24 30mm kurumi buttons for the border.
Que trabalho maravilhoso! Você envia para o Brasil?
E qual o valor?
Beautiful quilt but I don't understand what you said on video without cc.
Beautiful work. Where can you get the pattern?
Glad you like it!
You can get the pattern at my website www.feliciasworld.com.

Good day my question might so stupid but just needed to ask. Are your quilts usable or decoration purposes ??They are lovely a work of art . ....
Adorei seu trabalho.

I agree, I couldn't hear her either.
Is this pattern still available?
Yes it is. I have it on my website www.feliciasworld.com Thank You for your interest. 🥰
How can i buy your book
Hi Rhea, It’s available on my website www.feliciasworld.com. You can also buy it from Amazon. Just search for My Cozy Village:)
what size buttons did you use I lost my book
Hi Mary! I used 21mm kurumi buttons for the small flowers around the blocks, and 30 mm buttons for the large flowers in the border.
I couldn't find the 21 mm kurumi buttons. They have 24 mm. Would these be alright?
I am sure that would be fine, the centers of your flowers will just be a bit bigger but that should be OK:) Best of luck!
Do you sell your quilts?
Occasionally I will sell a quilt, but not this one. It took me a LONG time to design and complete and it was my very first publication with C&T Publishing so this one is just to close to my heart to ever part with. I do commissions but not quilts that require months of work...at least not at a price point that most people could part with.
Do you know how much Amazon is charging for “my cozy village” pamphlet? $ 21.74 Canadian dollars. isn’t that a shock. All the best

Enjoyed watching this beautiful quilt. The music spoilt it. Much too loud & difficult to hear the talking. Very annoying
The music is TOO loud and does go all the way to the end. Please turn it down or remove it.
PLEASE leave the music off next time!
