To all those wondering how the African sounds are common in the Carribean, Brazil, Cuba, Puerto Rico , Melanasia etc. It is called Trans Atlantic slave trade and in other parts strictly ancient voyages from mainland Africa. The seed does not fall far from the tree( that's an African proverb). Some seed however are transported by birds( the slave ships did just that)

I love it. Very similar to various Caribbean music. I am from The Bahamas.
I am sure You are going to enjoy knowing about a brazilian style called: guitarrada do Pará. I don't know well but I guess guitarrada had a strong influence from African music. Check guitar players like: Aldo Sena, Mestre Vieira and André Amazonas.
My guess would be Wes Montgomery influenced both heavy
