    The drop shot rig is super effective for bass fishing. Learn how to tie a drop shot rig.
    Here is a small drop shot hook for weedless dropshotting. omnia.direct/X...
    *If I have links I could get financially rewarded. It doesn’t cost you anything else, but supports my channel.
    When fishing gets tough this rig works. You can tie on a open hook to nose hook the bait or tie a weedless hook if you are getting snagged up.
    Make sure to remember to run your line through the eye of the hook from the hook point side. This will allow the hook to stand up when you tie your drop shot rig.
    I also use a Palomar knot for drop shots. That’s the knot I show in this video.
    I hope this helps you with your drop shot fishing. To learn my favorite drop shot baits and more about this rig check out my blog.

    Simple palomar knot

      Yep, I like the Palomar knot for dropshotting. Just keep your tag end long and run your line back through they eye to keep your hook in line and standing out. 👍

    nice video .. can we use dropshot from shore for fishing or just deep place ?

    • @LiveBassFishing
      @LiveBassFishing  5 месяцев назад +1

      You can definitely fish it from shore. Keep your rod tip higher so you don’t snag up as much. Use as light a weight as possible for the same reason. It works well from shore or a boat.

    Hello, new to this. Some videos say braid and fluorocarbon combo/ leader. What would be bad with rigging straight to mono? If ok, what lb test would be good for clear water?
    Thanks

    • @LiveBassFishing
      @LiveBassFishing  11 месяцев назад

      Start with mono and change, if wanted with experience. I fished mono for a long time. There is a little more stretch with mono and that is the issue. For dropshot I would go with 8lb test to start with. Drop to 6 if it’s super clear. Let me know if you need anything else.

    i dont undesart those sinkers how does it secure the line like that cause ive seen it done without the overhand knot too, are they also adjustable for depth?

    • @LiveBassFishing
      @LiveBassFishing  Год назад

      If you have a long drop or tag end you can move the sinker up and down. It kind of crimps on the line as you pull it so that you can adjust without tying again. It also breaks off easier so if you snag your weight and have to break off, you don’t lose your whole rig. Hope this helps.

      @@LiveBassFishing yes i understand thank you , im surprised they don't slip off the line when casting, maybe just meant for close cast vertical jigging

    • @LiveBassFishing
      @LiveBassFishing  Год назад

      @@ARCSTREAMS I don’t think I’ve ever casted one off. I would tie it on if I was using tungsten because of the expense. If it’s tied on it’s not as easy to readjust.

    • @ARCSTREAMS
      @ARCSTREAMS Год назад +1

      @@LiveBassFishing no obviously i meant if you used it as intended where you only snap the tag line on it and it can be adjusted, i think it would be prone to slip off if you try casting it with some force or tension instead of vertical jigging i would def tie a knot on them too specially expensive tungstens but if you want it to be able to break off easily in case of snags or want to be able to adjust for depth then you cant tie them with a knot and should snap them on the line as they were designed to do so depends what you want to do, i would much prefer buying cheaper sinkers and tie them with an easy break knot in case i get snagged but at least im less prone to loosing them when casting or might still be able to unsnag them with a little more pull force than if they were only snapped on the line, i would use a simple clinch knot with less wraps for that knot

    • @LiveBassFishing

      Yeah, it’s good to play it safe and tie a knot below the weight like I do in the video. Hopefully you go catch a bunch of fish. 👍

    If 'm fishing in a grassy area does a dropshot method good? I never fish with lure before and I'm trying to transition to it.

    • @LiveBassFishing
      @LiveBassFishing  Год назад +2

      It will work. It can be a little frustrating like anything in the grass. Tie your drop to keep your bait above the grass, fish the inside or outside edges, or even punch the holes in the grass. It really depends on the grass and how thick it is. Hope this helps. Feel free to message me if you need help. You definitely want to go weedless though. Here’s a video on a new hook I like. ruclips.net/video/gcPXvdCo-Ko/видео.html

      @@LiveBassFishing i was hoping that was gonna be a weedless hook, i don't think i ever seen small weedless hooks sold , only bigger ones that are sold with the plastic bait on and it can be difficult to make them yourself but it would be great having them in 6-8 hook sizes

    You tied a “ Palomar knot”. You should just say it. 😮

    • @LiveBassFishing
      @LiveBassFishing  11 месяцев назад +3

      I could say that, but it’s more involved than that and a lot of people coming to this video wouldn’t know what a Palomar knot is either. I have a video for that knot alone. It just helps prevent confusion. If you know the Palomar knot already then you are ahead of the curve. Thanks for commenting. 👍
