I hate that people say he died for nothing. He saved Dustin and who knows how many people in the trailer park. Those bats would have gone through the portal and by the time he got out, they would would have been RIGHT behind him.
Yes the died for nothing argument is bollocks because the point was we didn't see what would happen if they hadn't stopped the bat's as he lead them away.

He could have fought them inside the trailer with chokepoints but that still risked the gate. He led them away instead, to save the town that hated him. Our hero, Eddie Munson. Too good for this world.
Yeah, but they were already chasing him, if he'd kept riding instead of stopping to fight, he might've saved Dustin, the town, AND lived. I get why he chose to stop and fight, but it was a bad plan.
Eddie’s death really got me. He’s been a sympathetic character all season, but to make the choice to sacrifice himself in the way he did proved his true character in the end.

I didn't think I was going to like him in the beginning episode when he wouldn't reschedule their game for lucas. I thought he was going to be kind of a "too-serious-dm" type character but he quickly showed how much he cared for his game/players/friends. He turned into my absolute favorite character in the show and his death WRECKED ME.
The difference between Eddie and Billy was that Eddie had a somewhat stable and obviously loving relationship with his uncle. Billy had no such love and devotion. Eddie's uncle believed in his innocence the entire time, telling Nancy earlier that Eddie could not have hurt Chrissy like that. And he still kept up hope to find him, until Dustin told him he was dead. Dustin gave his uncle closure that not only Eddie died an innocent man, but as a hero as well.
Well billy did have max but he was an asshole to her so she got mad at him as well. And the gut puncher is that max couldn't even tell everyone he basically saved el so in turn the town or even world.

I absolutely loved this episode and season overall, the scene with Max and Lucas was heartbreaking and i really believe that Sadie, Caleb and Millie should at the very least be nominated for Emmys
I would love to see them get nominated too but sadly I think the elitism of any of the award shows won't let any of them win because the only see shows like this as "special effect fest" or something
I think the look on Erica's face when he said "call 911!" just pulled me in to feel like this was really happening, urgent, stress, that look she had alone was Emmy worthy sorry she outshines Caleb lol although Caleb has gotten better and is starting to be a better actor than Finn. Both Finn and Caleb overact in my opinion, but Caleb is slowly getting better while I feel like Finn is getting worse.

Eddie’s death made me sob, legit sob, and when I thought it was over the Max scene got me sobbing again (especially when she says she didn’t want to die 😭). When Vecna takes someone, he takes their consciousness so he has Max’s consciousness. I thought the ending meant she was brain dead, but then I remembered the detail about Vecna so now I’m convinced she will survive and play some role in taking Vecna down. But yeah, emotional damage engaged 😭
I don't think Vecna has Max's consciousness. I think El hit him before he takes it. Max was still conscious and talking with Lucas before she went into a coma and at that point Vecna was too incapacitated to attack her again. unless I'm missing something. I hope I'm wrong.
It was Lucas screaming for Erica to help that finished me off. I sobbed through the end of the episode then for like 30 minutes after. Need to sue the Duffer Bros for emotional damage.
@@mhosni86 I think that Vecna has everything but her physical form. Because El didn't revive Max until after the 4 gates opened BUT before any monsters could get through. So to me, Max is a hollow she'll right now and her still *physically* living is keeping Vecna's plan from progressing at the rate he wants.
I was actually hoping Max's character would be killed off, which at the moment it's not.... Her character from the beginning had just been a filler and really wasn't well developed in three seasons, especially when you compare it to Eddie's. Most especially when Eddie dies a hero and Max basically says she wanted her brother to die, and when he does, she felt guilty. Throughout this season it wasn't because she was sad, it was because she was guilty.
@@61051208 She was definitely sad but She isn’t just guilty because she wanted him to die and was definitely depressed about it. She genuinely loved him and never wanted anything bad to happen to him like that, but when you go through what she was going through you tend to have angry thoughts you don’t mean and then the death makes it feel like your fault. I can admit when I was younger and struggling mentally, a tiny piece of me I wished for someone’s death as well in the same way out of uncontrollable anger. But I love them so much I don’t know what I’d do if I lost that person. She genuinely believed she wanted his death because she wished for it and it came true. Guilt can lead your mind to put you at fault when there was nothing you could’ve done or thought differently to prevent their death from happening.
Erica's involvement this season, combined with her showing actual emotion and not just being a smartass, got me to love her as a part of the group. She looked SO SCARED when Lucas told her to call an ambulance... As much of a bitch as she could be, she really loves her brother and his friends, and I think she has a place in the group as the boot that kicks ass... or maybe the brain.

@@emraldmars well she did help out last year during the battle of starcourt and with the Russians she was there when everyone planned to stop the mindflayer and el together remember when she first met el she acted like she was impressed with her and she still acts like she knows what she’s talking about and that’s one of the reasons my dad hates her so does my sister and my brother but my mom it’s the opposite

4 broken limbs AND a broken neck. That's why Max couldn't feel anything right before she died. They really set out to make Max suffer this season and they carried it out a little too well.
No matter how many times I've watched Maxs death, Eddies death and Dustin telling Eddies uncle he died a hero, I cry so hard every time. I swear if Gaten Matarazzo doesn't at least get some award nominations for his amazing performance, then there is no justice in the world.
I need that “please don’t kill my character” tshirt. The emotional exhaustion I felt after this, I just went immediately to bed. I’m Steve for life, but a new character has never made an impact on me like Eddie, he came in and was like an inch under Steve, that’s how amazing he was, we needed him next season, it’s a hard loss, but he died an absolute hero.
When Hopper picked up Conan's Atlantean blade and faced off against the Demogorgon I scared everyone in my house when I screamed "What is the Riddle of Steel, BITCH!" at the top of my lungs.
Yea, not many people have picked up on the fact the Hopper's sword is Conan's Atlantean sword. The moment he picked it up the Riders of Doom/Riddle of Steel music just started up in my head.

Wasn't it also a nod to his role as Hellboy? More the lopping off of the head, similar to what he did to Mila Jovovich's character in that movie? In fact the head fell the same exact way as well. I can't see the other parents accepting the situation. I think they'd grab their kids and run out of Hawkins and the State of Indiana if they had an inkling of what was up. Heck, I'm surprised Mike's family isn't selling their house already, just from the cover-up stories about their town
Dustin isn’t going to just suddenly stop hobbling around with a knee injury, especially with a cleidocranial dysplasia. We don’t know how his leg bones have been affected. The fact that he climbed through to the upside down with no collarbones for structural support is impressive.
that's a good point that i think a lot of people forget especially because dustin hasn't mentioned it this season like he does with most and people haven't even re-watched or refreshed on the other seasons (that's evident by certain takes i see)
@@nightfrost1891 Ya, it had been bright up in multiple seasons, and folks forgot. Plus, it had only been 2 days since Hawkins fractured & Eddie died. I’m still amazed that Dustin got some purchase when he jumped from the chair to get through the fissure between worlds.
@@agresticumbra Kind of appreciate that he didn't make it all the way up/down in a single jump. From all the other Portals seen before, each seem Organic/Fleshy yet also solidify around the edges so... He probably got the best of all worlds with a firm yet Fleshy part of the portal that he could easily grab/dig into... We also don't know the physics of the "edges" (same as the center/portal) so once he's there could be like 10% or 50% Standard Gravity or whatever the story demands.

I knew the Mike monologue was coming and I still sobbed like a baby throughout the entire thing. The way Mike’s words dripped with love and genuine emotion but also fear really got to me
The scene that broke me was Max sobbing about how she couldn’t feel or see and how scared she was. Lucas looking around not knowing what to do to help her but stroke her hair and tell he knows she is scared. It was so chilling to me. 😭😭 I cant even imagine.
Her saying that she didn’t want to die that she is not ready made me realize how young she is. I mean I knew she was a teenager but hearing her saying that it just hit me.
I loved the exchange between Jason and Lucas… the lines “ I should have never let you in…” and Lucas’ mouth punch response “…and I should have never knocked!”Subtle but powerful… so many other great moments what a rollercoaster ride… got Freddy Krueger and Halloween vibes from this episode . I think in season 5 with Argyle there might be references to the poltergeist films … where he acts as a guide or medium maybe max is a free spirit disconnected from her body and they try and help her journey back into her body…maybe , as usual great video guys and virtual group hugs
I would definitely describe this season as the infinity war of stranger things, like they lost the big battle and lost some people along the way but they will come back stronger and united in season 5 like endgame 🤞
The scene where Eleven is calling for Max in the darkness really broke my heart!!! I know it’s likely that she’ll be back next season in some way, but the limbo they’ve left her in must be so scary and lonely. Heartbreaking 💔
When I saw that scene I knew that what I suspected came true. When they mentioned that Max's heart stopped for over a minute before it restarted again (El's doing), I knew that Max was at least heavily brain damaged or brain dead at worst as the brain can last around 30 sec without oxygen, but ever sec after that = more and more damage. The blackness in her mind cements it as brain death. Now, the question is, will the writers tie it to the giant portal or Vecna in Season 5, so that when either are closed/vanquished, that she awakes? I kind of hope so.
Jason doesn't deserve so much hate, I think. How wrong is wanting to avenge his girlfriend whom he sincerely loved? He just doesn't know what we know, that's all. Otherwise, he would surely have helped the gang. And when he thinks Max is in danger, he tries to save her. So he was also trying to protect others from what he thought was evil. He was wrong, that's all. He wasn't a monster and he didn't deserve to die like this. A little perspective helps sometimes.

Leading a witch hunt on a bunch of kids is not what a good person would do, especially when he goes around beating people up who he has zero evidence against and only relying on his own assumptions. And I'm pretty sure he was ready then and there to murder Lucas. He did pull the trigger and Lucas would've been dead if he didn't dodge that bullet. The death of his girlfriend and his friend were not an excuse to become this unhinged. If he stayed alive I'm pretty sure he would've dedicated his life to murder every member of the Hellfire Club.

That will cover their actual ages, cos if it's another couple of years til it arrives, no one's gonna believe they're teens anymore. Also imagine how far the Upside Down will have spread! I'm certain next season Eleven will somehow free Max's soul/conciousness from Vecna...if they wanted her dead they wouldn't have put her in a coma they would have just killed her like all the rest. Like Vecna said "They aren't gone they are with me" just that as a result their bodies died but Eleven saved Max's body
I hope Eleven will use that to fight him. He stole their minds in order to use their negative memories to power him up, but they had happy memories too.
A superb season. Completely amazing. I actually squealed a little when I saw Hopper pick up the Atlantean Sword from Conan the Barbarian.... OMG! I love how they put little call backs in like that. Absolutely amazing job Netflix and Duffer Bros.
Just to point out really quick. The sword in the jail scene. That was used to kill the demigorgan. Is actually the exact replica sword Arnold Schwarzenegger used from the first Conan movie back in the 80's.
I love that Vecna/Henry/001 is the big bad. I knew he was more than just 5 star general. Being the puppeteer of the upside down makes so much sense. Looking forward to seeing where he has transcended to. Such an awesome villain. As usual, great reaction guys! I've been crying with you. What a ride.
I’m sitting here with a massive headache due to crying so much. I feel so sorry for Eddie, but he lived and died a legend. He went to another dimension, played “Master Of Puppets” by Metallica with freaking red lightning behind him, fought demon bats with a spear and shield like a Spartan, and died the most honorable death possible by protecting his friend. This is the most physically and emotionally exhausted I have been from an episode of tv since the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian. And now the show has created a completely alternate history, meaning absolutely ANYTHING can and will happen in the final season. I do hate what they did to Max, after giving us such a powerful moment in episode 4 they end her story by quite literally fridging her! At least Eddies uncle knows he was a hero. May he rest now with the rock gods for all time!!!🎸🎸🎸
El reviving Max is probably a taste of what her full potential could look like. Also Max's fate is still up in the air, she may be physically "alive" but her consciousness might be trapped within Vecna/Henry/001. I'm also worried about Will's fate, seeing as how he still connected to the Upside Down and the series started with him being trapped there. It could come full circle and end with him as well.
If I had to guess what the ending of the show will include, Will sacrificing himself either by outright dying or voluntarily trapping himself in the upside down is high among my list of things that I expect. That connection he has might be preventing them from finally sealing any and all portals + eliminating any possibility of future ones. As long as he's around, there's that tiny little link between the worlds, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a big heroic moment where he goes out in a blaze of glory to make absolutely sure the two worlds are permanently separated.
Master of Puppets in the Upside Down was the most epic thing we'll see all year! That whole finale was so good, it rivaled Return of the King with the whole setup, structure, timing, visuals, music etc. Also, you do realize you need "Cla-Clack" merch now, right? ;) Nancy rocking that shotgun was very reminiscent of Meg to town on the Blob in the titular The Blob remake, staying on brand with the whole 80s thing. ;)
I appreciate how you lingered over your reaction to Max's plight (for lack of a better word). It was great to share possibly the greatest 2 hours and twenty minutes of television EVER produced with y'all. That was a roller coaster ride complete with a dose of mild temporary trauma. Love you guys!
this show is a rarity in the fact that even after the finale, if there are some unanswered questions, it doesn't immediately matter like with other shows Murray quickly turned into the MVP of this season

You know, I really appreciate that you two guys have hearts, and you're not afraid to show them! My first impressions of you were that you were just a couple of jokesters, and you'd be like some of the other content creators I've seen, where you're too afraid of not being funny to actually take things seriously and really get invested into it. But I'm glad I gave you a chance because I was wrong. You were right there with me, you were crying when I was crying, you were laughing when I was laughing. i liked how Frozen the end way with El, Max and Lucas. the word 'fairytale' had been brought up a few times this season so you'd think like a kiss would help Max in the end. but they went with her sister/best friend and that was much much more powerful.
Right there with you, buddy. Normally I'd finish up and jump right into a re-watch before the end of the day. But three days later, I'm still too broken. Watching these guys react was cathartic, though. I cried with them. I might be ready. Maybe tomorrow.

I don't think Vecna is holding Max hostage or as bait. Dr Owens said when he kills he takes their minds, memories and abilities. Taking Max's mind is just a part of the process. My hope is that she will eventually come to fight him from within.

Every member of the "party" in Stranger Things is a class from D&D. Mike a fighter / leader, Lucas a ranger, Will a Paladin, El a Sorceress, Eddie is a Bard. Hopper is definitely a barbarian. And they gave him that sword on purpose... bc that is the Atlantean Sword... aka the sword Conan the Barbarian uses.
There’s many things I’ll never get over in this episode but Max’s death scene is chief among them. That messed me up so bad. Seeing Lucas helplessly cry out while Max is begging to stay alive. A gut punch with the force of a nuclear bomb

Theory: Max is actually dead. Vecna is lying in that hospital bed, using her as an empty vessel to inhabit. It would explain why El was confused about the hospital and why she couldn’t find Max anywhere. Will said he felt Vecna was hurt but he’d be back. Sounds like hospitalization.
@@sh0cktim3 yeah, I was thinking about that, which could still be valid. If my theory is correct, then it would continue the trend of Vecna taking on the appearance of loved ones in his victim’s minds. If so, then it would mostly be for our benefit but he could’ve appeared as Eleven.

@28:30 theres a major hint at the fact Vecna is completely aware of the plan and listening in the transition before (Enzo telling Joyce and Hop to ASSUME THEY ARE LISTENING) then it cuts to Nancy laying out the plan for Vec -to clearly eavesdrop on and counter. -clever transitions have been brilliantly used throughout the series from eye-candy camera/edit work, to plot hints and foreshadowings
I think The Duffer’s obviously have plans for Max’s character going forward otherwise they would’ve just had Verna kill her outright. I also feel like they must have ideas of how to tie up the dangling loose end of 008 and bring her back into the story somehow for the final season or they wouldn’t have mentioned/shown her at all this season.
When Dustin and Lucas were crying it really didn't help at all. I was just bawling my eyes out. Especially when Mike was giving El that speech!! What a finale!
I knew this would be an emotional one. It's ok, I teared up several times too. As soon as Eddie said "Never change, Dustin Henderson," I knew he was a gonner...🥺
They filmed season 4 and 5 back to back because they knew (as Jonathan demonstrates) that many of their actors are on the verge of aging out of their roles, plus Millie Bobby Brown really doesn’t want to do this anymore. So they filmed season 4 and 5 together, season 5 will pick up directly after the last scene of this season, like seconds after, and will be released sometime next year.
Not sure where you heard that info because nothing regarding Season 5 has even begun production yet. The Duffer Bros. are set to start the initial writing process for the final season next month since they apparently want to take July off as a break before diving back into creating the final season, with it (most likely) releasing in 2024.
i feel the show is finally at GoT level hype and they earned that every season. season 2 now is so important, i loved all the season 2 references with Max especially.
This episode did an amazing job of binding all 4 seasons into one continuous saga. This is up there with Battle of the Bastards as one of the best episodes of TV ever.

Finally! people that really appreciate the fight between Hopper and the demogorgon. The fact that the demogorgon accepted the 1 vs 1 and didn't attack Hopper right away is proof enough that Hopper is a badass.
I cried so hard with Lucas and Max my partner walked into the house and was like omg what happened. I was crying so hard he couldn't understand me at first. 😅
The shots were simply incredible. The Evan on fire, him hitting the ground, the giant Demogorgon running, how their flower faces opened..just incredible..not to mention the helicopter..

My theory about Max: Vecna said that when he kill someone they are not gone but they live in his mind (when El first fought Vecna in the lab) therefore I believe the reason why Max is none to be found in her own mind when El tries to find her (Complete blackout when she spin the bottle) because she is in Vecna's mind. I believe they will need to get into Vecna's mind and kill him somehow to release their soul/mind in Season 5 thus why even if her body is still alive she is in theory "gone" and he got the 4th sacrifice he needed to open the portal.

fr, eddie really was so caring, funny, love able and he was just a great character, i always got happy when he would appear on my screen.
I didn't think I was going to like him in the beginning episode when he wouldn't reschedule their game for lucas. I thought he was going to be kind of a "too-serious-dm" type character but he quickly showed how much he cared for his game/players/friends. He turned into my absolute favorite character in the show and his death WRECKED ME.
I thought his death was rough enough but the scene scene with his uncle and Dustin just broke me.
The difference between Eddie and Billy was that Eddie had a somewhat stable and obviously loving relationship with his uncle. Billy had no such love and devotion. Eddie's uncle believed in his innocence the entire time, telling Nancy earlier that Eddie could not have hurt Chrissy like that. And he still kept up hope to find him, until Dustin told him he was dead. Dustin gave his uncle closure that not only Eddie died an innocent man, but as a hero as well.
Well billy did have max but he was an asshole to her so she got mad at him as well. And the gut puncher is that max couldn't even tell everyone he basically saved el so in turn the town or even world.

I think the look on Erica's face when he said "call 911!" just pulled me in to feel like this was really happening, urgent, stress, that look she had alone was Emmy worthy sorry she outshines Caleb lol although Caleb has gotten better and is starting to be a better actor than Finn. Both Finn and Caleb overact in my opinion, but Caleb is slowly getting better while I feel like Finn is getting worse.

Eddie’s death made me sob, legit sob, and when I thought it was over the Max scene got me sobbing again (especially when she says she didn’t want to die 😭).
When Vecna takes someone, he takes their consciousness so he has Max’s consciousness. I thought the ending meant she was brain dead, but then I remembered the detail about Vecna so now I’m convinced she will survive and play some role in taking Vecna down.
But yeah, emotional damage engaged 😭
I don't think Vecna has Max's consciousness. I think El hit him before he takes it. Max was still conscious and talking with Lucas before she went into a coma and at that point Vecna was too incapacitated to attack her again. unless I'm missing something. I hope I'm wrong.
It was Lucas screaming for Erica to help that finished me off. I sobbed through the end of the episode then for like 30 minutes after. Need to sue the Duffer Bros for emotional damage.

@@mhosni86 I think that Vecna has everything but her physical form. Because El didn't revive Max until after the 4 gates opened BUT before any monsters could get through. So to me, Max is a hollow she'll right now and her still *physically* living is keeping Vecna's plan from progressing at the rate he wants.
Max's death scene was the most heartbreaking thing that's happened on this show, I'll never get over it.

I was actually hoping Max's character would be killed off, which at the moment it's not.... Her character from the beginning had just been a filler and really wasn't well developed in three seasons, especially when you compare it to Eddie's. Most especially when Eddie dies a hero and Max basically says she wanted her brother to die, and when he does, she felt guilty. Throughout this season it wasn't because she was sad, it was because she was guilty.
@@61051208 She was definitely sad but She isn’t just guilty because she wanted him to die and was definitely depressed about it. She genuinely loved him and never wanted anything bad to happen to him like that, but when you go through what she was going through you tend to have angry thoughts you don’t mean and then the death makes it feel like your fault. I can admit when I was younger and struggling mentally, a tiny piece of me I wished for someone’s death as well in the same way out of uncontrollable anger. But I love them so much I don’t know what I’d do if I lost that person. She genuinely believed she wanted his death because she wished for it and it came true. Guilt can lead your mind to put you at fault when there was nothing you could’ve done or thought differently to prevent their death from happening.

Erica's involvement this season, combined with her showing actual emotion and not just being a smartass, got me to love her as a part of the group. She looked SO SCARED when Lucas told her to call an ambulance... As much of a bitch as she could be, she really loves her brother and his friends, and I think she has a place in the group as the boot that kicks ass... or maybe the brain.

4 broken limbs AND a broken neck. That's why Max couldn't feel anything right before she died. They really set out to make Max suffer this season and they carried it out a little too well.
No matter how many times I've watched Maxs death, Eddies death and Dustin telling Eddies uncle he died a hero, I cry so hard every time. I swear if Gaten Matarazzo doesn't at least get some award nominations for his amazing performance, then there is no justice in the world.

I need that “please don’t kill my character” tshirt. The emotional exhaustion I felt after this, I just went immediately to bed. I’m Steve for life, but a new character has never made an impact on me like Eddie, he came in and was like an inch under Steve, that’s how amazing he was, we needed him next season, it’s a hard loss, but he died an absolute hero.
When Hopper picked up Conan's Atlantean blade and faced off against the Demogorgon I scared everyone in my house when I screamed "What is the Riddle of Steel, BITCH!" at the top of my lungs.

Yea, not many people have picked up on the fact the Hopper's sword is Conan's Atlantean sword. The moment he picked it up the Riders of Doom/Riddle of Steel music just started up in my head.

Dustin isn’t going to just suddenly stop hobbling around with a knee injury, especially with a cleidocranial dysplasia. We don’t know how his leg bones have been affected. The fact that he climbed through to the upside down with no collarbones for structural support is impressive.
that's a good point that i think a lot of people forget especially because dustin hasn't mentioned it this season like he does with most and people haven't even re-watched or refreshed on the other seasons (that's evident by certain takes i see)

Plus, it had only been 2 days since Hawkins fractured & Eddie died. I’m still amazed that Dustin got some purchase when he jumped from the chair to get through the fissure between worlds.

From all the other Portals seen before, each seem Organic/Fleshy yet also solidify around the edges so... He probably got the best of all worlds with a firm yet Fleshy part of the portal that he could easily grab/dig into...
We also don't know the physics of the "edges" (same as the center/portal) so once he's there could be like 10% or 50% Standard Gravity or whatever the story demands.

I knew the Mike monologue was coming and I still sobbed like a baby throughout the entire thing. The way Mike’s words dripped with love and genuine emotion but also fear really got to me
The scene that broke me was Max sobbing about how she couldn’t feel or see and how scared she was. Lucas looking around not knowing what to do to help her but stroke her hair and tell he knows she is scared. It was so chilling to me. 😭😭 I cant even imagine.

I loved the exchange between Jason and Lucas… the lines “ I should have never let you in…” and Lucas’ mouth punch response “…and I should have never knocked!”Subtle but powerful… so many other great moments what a rollercoaster ride… got Freddy Krueger and Halloween vibes from this episode . I think in season 5 with Argyle there might be references to the poltergeist films … where he acts as a guide or medium maybe max is a free spirit disconnected from her body and they try and help her journey back into her body…maybe , as usual great video guys and virtual group hugs

I would definitely describe this season as the infinity war of stranger things, like they lost the big battle and lost some people along the way but they will come back stronger and united in season 5 like endgame 🤞

The scene where Eleven is calling for Max in the darkness really broke my heart!!! I know it’s likely that she’ll be back next season in some way, but the limbo they’ve left her in must be so scary and lonely. Heartbreaking 💔
When I saw that scene I knew that what I suspected came true. When they mentioned that Max's heart stopped for over a minute before it restarted again (El's doing), I knew that Max was at least heavily brain damaged or brain dead at worst as the brain can last around 30 sec without oxygen, but ever sec after that = more and more damage. The blackness in her mind cements it as brain death. Now, the question is, will the writers tie it to the giant portal or Vecna in Season 5, so that when either are closed/vanquished, that she awakes? I kind of hope so.
I think the call was when she tried to talk to her but instead woke her up (the mircale) she's not limbo. She's in a coma

Jason doesn't deserve so much hate, I think. How wrong is wanting to avenge his girlfriend whom he sincerely loved? He just doesn't know what we know, that's all. Otherwise, he would surely have helped the gang. And when he thinks Max is in danger, he tries to save her. So he was also trying to protect others from what he thought was evil. He was wrong, that's all. He wasn't a monster and he didn't deserve to die like this. A little perspective helps sometimes.

I'm certain next season Eleven will somehow free Max's soul/conciousness from Vecna...if they wanted her dead they wouldn't have put her in a coma they would have just killed her like all the rest.
Like Vecna said "They aren't gone they are with me" just that as a result their bodies died but Eleven saved Max's body
I hope Eleven will use that to fight him. He stole their minds in order to use their negative memories to power him up, but they had happy memories too.

A superb season. Completely amazing. I actually squealed a little when I saw Hopper pick up the Atlantean Sword from Conan the Barbarian.... OMG! I love how they put little call backs in like that. Absolutely amazing job Netflix and Duffer Bros.
Just to point out really quick. The sword in the jail scene. That was used to kill the demigorgan. Is actually the exact replica sword Arnold Schwarzenegger used from the first Conan movie back in the 80's.
I love that Vecna/Henry/001 is the big bad. I knew he was more than just 5 star general. Being the puppeteer of the upside down makes so much sense. Looking forward to seeing where he has transcended to. Such an awesome villain.

I’m sitting here with a massive headache due to crying so much. I feel so sorry for Eddie, but he lived and died a legend. He went to another dimension, played “Master Of Puppets” by Metallica with freaking red lightning behind him, fought demon bats with a spear and shield like a Spartan, and died the most honorable death possible by protecting his friend. This is the most physically and emotionally exhausted I have been from an episode of tv since the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian. And now the show has created a completely alternate history, meaning absolutely ANYTHING can and will happen in the final season. I do hate what they did to Max, after giving us such a powerful moment in episode 4 they end her story by quite literally fridging her!
At least Eddies uncle knows he was a hero. May he rest now with the rock gods for all time!!!🎸🎸🎸
El reviving Max is probably a taste of what her full potential could look like. Also Max's fate is still up in the air, she may be physically "alive" but her consciousness might be trapped within Vecna/Henry/001. I'm also worried about Will's fate, seeing as how he still connected to the Upside Down and the series started with him being trapped there. It could come full circle and end with him as well.
If I had to guess what the ending of the show will include, Will sacrificing himself either by outright dying or voluntarily trapping himself in the upside down is high among my list of things that I expect. That connection he has might be preventing them from finally sealing any and all portals + eliminating any possibility of future ones. As long as he's around, there's that tiny little link between the worlds, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a big heroic moment where he goes out in a blaze of glory to make absolutely sure the two worlds are permanently separated.
Eddie is the absolute best. Just wow. So many tears wept watching this.
Master of Puppets in the Upside Down was the most epic thing we'll see all year! That whole finale was so good, it rivaled Return of the King with the whole setup, structure, timing, visuals, music etc. Also, you do realize you need "Cla-Clack" merch now, right? ;) Nancy rocking that shotgun was very reminiscent of Meg to town on the Blob in the titular The Blob remake, staying on brand with the whole 80s thing. ;)
I appreciate how you lingered over your reaction to Max's plight (for lack of a better word). It was great to share possibly the greatest 2 hours and twenty minutes of television EVER produced with y'all. That was a roller coaster ride complete with a dose of mild temporary trauma. Love you guys!

My first impressions of you were that you were just a couple of jokesters, and you'd be like some of the other content creators I've seen, where you're too afraid of not being funny to actually take things seriously and really get invested into it. i liked how Frozen the end way with El, Max and Lucas. the word 'fairytale' had been brought up a few times this season so you'd think like a kiss would help Max in the end. but they went with her sister/best friend and that was much much more powerful.

I don't think Vecna is holding Max hostage or as bait. Dr Owens said when he kills he takes their minds, memories and abilities. Taking Max's mind is just a part of the process. My hope is that she will eventually come to fight him from within.
I think either her subconscious is trapped with Vecna or maybe she’s hiding in her own memories somewhere to protect herself.

There’s many things I’ll never get over in this episode but Max’s death scene is chief among them. That messed me up so bad. Seeing Lucas helplessly cry out while Max is begging to stay alive. A gut punch with the force of a nuclear bomb
Hopper "resurrecting" and walking into El's room took me down. Always wished my dad's death wasn't true and that he'd just reappear. I'd breakdown into a shocked happy cry too.12/10 Duffer Bros!

Theory: Max is actually dead. Vecna is lying in that hospital bed, using her as an empty vessel to inhabit. It would explain why El was confused about the hospital and why she couldn’t find Max anywhere. Will said he felt Vecna was hurt but he’d be back. Sounds like hospitalization.

@28:30 theres a major hint at the fact Vecna is completely aware of the plan and listening in the transition before (Enzo telling Joyce and Hop to ASSUME THEY ARE LISTENING) then it cuts to Nancy laying out the plan for Vec -to clearly eavesdrop on and counter. -clever transitions have been brilliantly used throughout the series from eye-candy camera/edit work, to plot hints and foreshadowings
I think The Duffer’s obviously have plans for Max’s character going forward otherwise they would’ve just had Verna kill her outright. I also feel like they must have ideas of how to tie up the dangling loose end of 008 and bring her back into the story somehow for the final season or they wouldn’t have mentioned/shown her at all this season.

When Dustin and Lucas were crying it really didn't help at all. I was just bawling my eyes out. Especially when Mike was giving El that speech!! What a finale!
I knew this would be an emotional one. It's ok, I teared up several times too. As soon as Eddie said "Never change, Dustin Henderson," I knew he was a gonner...🥺
They filmed season 4 and 5 back to back because they knew (as Jonathan demonstrates) that many of their actors are on the verge of aging out of their roles, plus Millie Bobby Brown really doesn’t want to do this anymore. So they filmed season 4 and 5 together, season 5 will pick up directly after the last scene of this season, like seconds after, and will be released sometime next year.
Not sure where you heard that info because nothing regarding Season 5 has even begun production yet. The Duffer Bros. are set to start the initial writing process for the final season next month since they apparently want to take July off as a break before diving back into creating the final season, with it (most likely) releasing in 2024.
i feel the show is finally at GoT level hype and they earned that every season. season 2 now is so important, i loved all the season 2 references with Max especially.
This episode did an amazing job of binding all 4 seasons into one continuous saga. This is up there with Battle of the Bastards as one of the best episodes of TV ever.
Haven’t watched yet but virtual hugs, and I’m honestly super scared for next season. I think we’ll lose more people in the “war”

The fact that the demogorgon accepted the 1 vs 1 and didn't attack Hopper right away is proof enough that Hopper is a badass.

This was the Duffer Brothers TV version of a Magna Opus. I don't know how this could have been better.

The shots were simply incredible. The Evan on fire, him hitting the ground, the giant Demogorgon running, how their flower faces opened..just incredible..not to mention the helicopter..

My theory about Max: Vecna said that when he kill someone they are not gone but they live in his mind (when El first fought Vecna in the lab) therefore I believe the reason why Max is none to be found in her own mind when El tries to find her (Complete blackout when she spin the bottle) because she is in Vecna's mind. I believe they will need to get into Vecna's mind and kill him somehow to release their soul/mind in Season 5 thus why even if her body is still alive she is in theory "gone" and he got the 4th sacrifice he needed to open the portal.
