Electric kettles are WAY more energy efficient than on the stove. Even for making pasta in a pot, it makes sense to boil at least half of the water in the kettle to speed up the process.
If you cook with teaspoons (5ml) or tablespoon (15ml) measures, i recommend buying 15 tsp and tbsp and at least 5 dl measurements. Now I never have to stop to clean them ever again. My partner thinks I am crazy but it saves me so much time and mental strain. Having to stop and clean them stops my flow.
One other huge benefit of the smart ovens or air friers is that since they're small they preheat so much faster. One of my biggest barriers to cooking is I often don't do anything about hunger until it's real bad, and now that I have an air fryer that can preheat and then roast veggies in less than the amount of time my regular oven would take to preheat I have so many more meals I can make in less than 15 minutes.
My ADHD nightly routine: Fill up the sink of dishes with hot soapy water. Put on the tea kettle. While that is heating up put away dishes from dishwasher. When it clicks pour the water into the cups. Set a timer for 15 minutes (for when the tea will be cool enough to drink) While the tea steeps put the dishes from the sink into the dishwasher and turn it on. Optional bonus: Find other chores and things to clean while the tea steeps. Drink tea and spend the rest of the evening with unstructured enjoyment.
I absolutely love that! Setting tasks for when the water is boiling is such a fantastic idea because it’s a limited amount of time and you get a reward at the end!
When I worked in an office I would take raw potatoes to work to steam in the microwave. I got a lot of weird looks but it works great! I’ve never tried eggplant though!

Love my kettle! I saw one at my parents' house and knew I needed one. It helps me to have access to tea and cocoa during the winter months

It makes a huge difference time wise!
I’m gonna send my mom your instant pot video! I love mine, so I bought her one and she’s terrified of it! You’re a lifesaver. 😍

microwave is basically a futuristic steamer. really great for steaming eggplant, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, leafy greens etc

Came back to the video to say that the thumbnail captures the joy of your toaster oven 😂
Aww thanks!
I'm lucky enough to have a dishwasher but my kitchen still always has dirty dishes because I hate unloading the dishwasher lol
That is the challenge for sure!
Are you a genius? Yes.
