Nice catch Jesse. Bringing back memories of what this line used to be like before the demise of the Saluda Grade. I remember over 20 years ago I used to catch the Belmont coal trains coming through here as well as mixed freights
dtrainsc35 productions Thanks Doreian. And I’m happy I could bring back some old memories. Can you tell if these crossing gates and lights are the same from when you used to watch trains come through here?
Was doing a Trip to Boiling Springs from Inman today. Going over the John Dodd Rd Crossing I could see P44 maybe a quarter mile down the Track coming out of Inman. Wasn't close enough for the Crossing to register the Train's presence but that Asphalt Plant is Keeping the Line Busy. I bet you could definetly catch some Action if you get a Chance.
Tyler Anness The ID has changed to the “Rouster Job” now. I don’t know if I’ll ever come back over here because the eastern portion of the W-Line is so much busier with 8 trains a day. The western portion through here I’ll come to mainly when I have pretty much nothing else to do.
Thanks for watching. I think the horn you’ve been hearing is just P44 here. This is the only train that still runs on the west side of the W-Line. It runs everyday. This line is cut in Landrum, SC.
I think That line is coming to have more Action to it. They added a Full Functioning Crossing w/ lights and gates to the Land Grant Rd. Railroad Crossing in Inman, SC. And that one used to have just a plain crossbuck with a stop sign. I don't think Norfolk Southern would upgrade a crossing if they were not going use the line often.
Oh yeah, I know the crossing you’re talking about. Idk why NS would install gates and lights on a line with only 1-2 trains. But if you go up to Landrum, SC, you’ll see that the line is severed. P44 doesn’t run past Landrum.
Nice video.

I live in Inman, I have been hearing more and more train horns recently. There is Life on this Line!

@@anscrailfanner6812 I think it runs as far as the sawmill in Landrum.
@@southcarolinagrizfan1594 Not anymore. The sawmill is served by trucks now. It might even be shut down.
