NS 28R shoots north by Wellford, SC with a 2x1 power setup
Recorded 9/1/2024 at 12:40 pm. Now this has been something I've been trying to catch with 28R for a LONG while. I miss the days when this train would be a monster practically on the daily, with having 2 locomotives up front and 2 in the middle. Since NS has gone back to using 3 motors on 28R/27A, the power will be 2x1 now. Still, I hate the slower speed I get now on these trains. The intermodals especially used to fly up through here doing every bit of 40 mph! It didn't matter how long it was, they would always move fast. The freights would move at 30-35 mph pretty consistently. Despite the slower speeds these days, I still can enjoy these long intermodal trains. This 28R was easily 10K+ ...
